We found the Ship whilst on holiday in Porthleven. It has a fantastic terraced garden, a large outer room and the cozy pub. The staff were great and were happy to advise on the beer and cider we bought. We ended up there most days. It's more a local friendly pub than a tourist one, but there were plenty of tourists there too. The food we had was lovely and I'd recommend it, it's pub grub with some interesting specials.

A real Cornish Pub with loads of character . If you like real ale this is the place with local beers from Skinners, Sharps and Rebel Brewery always well kept.

Great to sit in the garden overlooking the harbour just watching the sea.

Having spent a year away from Cornwall I was yearning for some good traditional pub grub and opted for the beer battered fish and chips expecting it to be a fresh honest meal. The eagerly anticipated meal arrived to my surprise it was served in a bowl.... 50% frozen peas, 30% frozen French fries and a diddly piece of pollock fillet about 1cm thick and only about 12 cm long with thin tasteless batter.... For £10. Needless to say I was disappointed after having had suck a lovely walk around the harbour and having shunned many of the other delectable offers on the blackboards around the harbour at other eateries. Over priced and way below par. I would have expected some hand cut chips or at least a bigger piece of fish, and correct proportions/a balanced plate of food. There are plenty of similar establishments in Cornwall who achieve this, don't think there's any excuse, just hope that it doesn't put off the much needed tourists! How embarrassing.

Beautiful old fisher man pub with the best view in the village, great beer and excellent food. Best prices in the harbour. Very friendly service by local people and is owned by Porthleven residents so they know how to look after customers not like other pubs in the village.

If you want to come here one word of warning it can get super busy as it's the first port of call for most holiday makers. It's worth the effort to visit. We eat there 80% of our visits

Good range of food which was delivered by friendly staff. Good pub grub. Great views and worth the walk round the harbour. Will go back.
