“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

Had to write a review on this cafe/diner as it was the best meal we had on our 5 day southwest coast path walk. The woodburner stove was fabulous as our B&B was a little cold and the weather had not been great. We sat in front of it and enjoyed complimentary home-made cheese and parsley bread with vegetable crisps. The set menu of 2 courses with a glass of wine at £17.95 was great value. We shared Cajun salmon starter with lemon mayo (delicious). The wild mushroom risotto was great and we shared a honey-roasted fig pudding. The staff were all very friendly and made us and our dogs feel very welcome. The place had a nice atmosphere and we loved the decor. Full marks!

“Excellent lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

Our second visit but first for lunch. The fish menu was excellent and varied and so fresh, wonderful chowder. The service was second to none, all staff being very helpful and welcoming. There were even biscuits for the dogs who we had with us, again made welcome too!

We shall certainly be back and recommend to anyone, a real haven when walking the SWCP.

We have eaten here a few times for lunch and brunch with the family and the food is always really good. Some lovely touches, homemade cookie with your coffee and lovely local ingredients.

“Delicious Lunch on a February Tuesday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

We had a great lunch on a cold and blustery February Tuesday in front of the cosy woodburning stove. Excellent service and very tasty food. My partner chose from the very reasonably priced set lunch (two courses plus coffee for £11.95) - creamy seafood chowder and pan fried skate with herbs, capers and french fries. I had tiger prawns and fresh crab as a starter portion with the addition of a green side salad (fragrant and crisp leaves) and some french fries borrowed from the basket which came with my partner's main course. All very tasty and a nice touch that a caraffe of iced water with cucumber arrived unprompted as did a serving of delicious home baked bread with a pot of butter. Our only regret was that we didn't have room for desert.

“Food was delish!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We came here mid week for a meal out.
The service was excellent and such a lovely range of food to choose from off the menu. I had a fish special and with it had the most delicious creamed leeks I have ever tasted!!
We will be back!
