“A modern take on the old cave dwellings”
Reviewed February 8, 2012

We spent two nights here in September 2011 and had a lovely experience. The hotel is owned and operated by the people at the Old Greek House down the hill. The rooms are large and very well appointed and the bathrooms very modern. Our room was huge and really did feel a bit like it was carved out of the surrounding hills(it wasn't). The breakfast was very good and the gardens were pretty. We had our dinners in the Old Greek House which was much more rustic, but a lot of fun. If you want to stay in Mustafapasa I recommend this accom over the older house if you are looking for less authentic and little more comfort. The view from the various terraces is magnificant. I forgot to mention the dining room and the entertainment! Not gourmet but lots of good Turkish food and conviviality and good conversation.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite and travel as a couple, they get better rooms.

We stayed here for 2 nights during a recent trip. The hotel has been wonderfully restored and the view over the village of Mustafapasa is amazing. It is close enought to Goreme for the hot air balloon rides in the morning.

The breakfast we had was the best I had in Turkey and the staff were excellent in their service and attention to detail. It snowed one night while we were there and as we were standing outside enjoying the snow, the staff came around and offered us fresh Turkish tea to make sure that we remained warm.

The rooms are HUGE and beautiful with all modern amenities and the look out balconies everywhere make you feel like you are living on a movie set -

I highly recommend this

Who knew I could feel so at home in central Anatolia? The staff was warm and welcoming from the start, and their communical living/dining room area was a great place to connect with other travelers looking to swap stories. Be sure not to miss breakfast and some of Emine's fantastic home-made jams!

We stayed recently in the Upper Greek House and couldn't have been more pleased. It is located above the old village of Mustafapasa in a quiet location with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, but still only a short walk to town. The rooms have all been beautifully renovated but still have the character of an old boutique hotel. The breakfast room is charming and the breakfast was all home-grown or homemade. The staff (Sofia and Mehmet) were very welcoming and attentive. Note: While the Upper Greek House has no restaurant with dinner service, it's sister hotel, the Old Greek House, has a charming dining room serving delicious home-cooked meals.

Our stay in the Kaya Suite was superb. We found our room to be spacious and very comfortable. The stand out was the staff. Never been anywhere that the staff was as attentive to our needs, from taking in our bags to preparing and serving breakfast. The view from the roof of the surrounding countryside was also a highlight.

The Upper Greek Room offers cozy accomodations in the stone-carved Cappadocian style. The room are very clean and modern, hot water is in good supply, and the traditional turkish breakfast is fantastic. The staff is hospitable, humble and helpful, a rare combination in the industry these days. The location is convenient for seeing the region from a centralized hub, and it offers a fantastic panorama view of the area. Mustafapassa itself is a cozy town surrounded by higher profile larger towns, making the Upper Greek Room a perfect fit for people looking to avoid too much of the touristy feel. Combined with the wonderful meals available at the Old Greek House, just down the hill from the Upper Greek House, Mustafapassa is a great place for visitors looking for a nostalgic den and dine. You'll need a rental car to get around the region, and you'll need to use the internet in the common area because there's no wi-fi.

Mustafapasa is still relatively unspoiled by tourism and the Upper Greek House is a superb fit for this quiet village. Perched up on a hill above town, the terraces have great views of the surrounding area. On arrival, we were welcomed with a cup of Turkish tea and home baked lemon cake, served on the terrace. It was a nice touch. Our room was spacious and elegantly furnished and the service from the helpful staff was superb.
