“Good value”

So surprised ,didn't expect much ,due to the price we paid ,entertainment each night ,room, nice ,basic but cleaned each day ,good sea view , self catering ,but lots of local places to eat ,friendly and good value .beach was grit not sand ,luckily not busy . Good pools and jacuzzi share with its sister hotel next door, lots to do in the resort , traveled to Barcelona for a day trip ,only an hour away ,which was stunning . No mention was made before we got their of the £100 deposit we had to pay on arrival ,this was a bit of a shock ,and the local train runs right behind the hotel and could be noisy . .but overall this was a good value hotel and resort .

Room Tip: Must ask for a sea view

For a cheap getaway in the sun this was just what we needed on a budget, I was not dissapointed, it is pretty much what I expected...we paid £250.00 - this inc flights with Ryanair, hotel for a week and transfers for 2 of us. We had handluggage to keep our costs low and no flight food.
Towels were changed once and the bedsheets werent. We had 2 single beds which we had to push together which wasnt ideal but it wasnt too much of an issue.
We were provided with everything else we needed and a new cloth and tube of washing up liquid too which was useful.
No oven but hobbs, microwave, toaster and kettle were. We lived on cold meats cheese and french stick with butter for brekfast and snacks. We ate out most evenings. We didnt go on holiday to really cook so this was not a problem at all for us.
The receptionist was helpful, booked our taxi back to airport for us no hassell.
There is enough in the area to keep you entertained...pop up 5d cinema on the stirip of Santa Susanna. Lots of shops.
Train station is handy, so close. 9 euro to Barcelona return! if you take the touristica bus tour in barca, along with the returntrain ticket its a great saving... costing only 26 euro each. if you purchase the bur tour in Barca it costs 26 euro on its own, so well worth getting it all together saving your return train ticket money.
The old town of Malgrat is worth walking to...lovely restaurant/bar called La Bota and a few other nice restaurants which we didnt go in but looked lovely from the outside, few nice shops and patisseries, great little square and church, going at night is better. It's not so touristy, lot of locals here and it's quite pretty.
We found a little convenience store which sold 1ltr of vodka and coconut liquer 5 euro each! bargain! Great for pre drinks =) lasted us the week.
If you're looking for clubs there is a few on the main road towards Malgrat centre from Santa Susanna. One called Tropicana - great club and other other we went to was called Frog. Aloha was good food and service too. Didnt really like Wakiki. You can get free shots in all bars.
The beach bars are the best...I would go back in the summer time and enjoy these bars in the busier months. They were dead in Oct but the other bars and clubs were not, lots of locals. You can but a litre of beer for 3euro. most cocktails are 5 and 6 euro.
The best thing to do is get on the coastline train and head out to other towns ie. Calella or Barcelona! worth the hour journey!

We booked this very last min as we got very cheap flights with Ryanair. We stayed four nights until wed 23/10. For the money you pay these apartments are very good, there clean, well equipped for self catering, have air con, plenty of hot water, good shower, 4 each hand/bath towels, a dish cloth/sponge and little bottle of washing up liquid, and a decent size balcony. We only paid 105 quid and felt we got a bargain. Well located we thought we never had any issues with noise, there are some younger people over the road mainly at weekends as there is a large disco there but we never had any bother passing them and were in our fifties. Found a few ok bars and some nice places to eat. visited Barcelona for the day on the train had a good day, 8euros each for a return ticket takes bout 40 mins each way you travel along the coastline. All in all we had a really good time there, I would,nt like a two week hol there as there is,nt enough going on for us, but that's just personal choice. For a week or short stay I would visit again and certainly try to stay at the Thalassa, good pool (next door) and nice staff. What more do you want for 105 quid ?.

Room Tip: The apartments are a V shape pointing towards the sea. Standing on the beach facing your right side...

Just returned from a week family break here. Good clean apartments. One bedroom with 2 single beds and a living room with sofa bed and an extra bed stored underneath. Sofa beds only suitable for younger kids in my opinion. Small kitchen but very well kitted out. Plenty utensils a microwave,2 ring hob, fridge , kettle and coffee maker. Made breakfasts and dinner occasionally no probe. The large carrefor supermarket is a 15 min walk away or you can jump on the tourist train for 1.5euros will take you to the door. Carrefor stocks everything typical large supermarket better prices than local. Loads more selection. Local supermarkets great for bread and milk etc. You are able to use the Tahiti playa hotel pool next door which is lovely and you are right on the beach. Beach is more grit than sand but definitely worth a visit. Kids club is open morning and afternoon but its not a club you can leave the kids for an hour as someone must supervise them. Fine if you are at the pool and need to get them out the sun. Only downside for us was the noise from other hotels karaoke and bands outside wen on till 12 then you get the nightclubs emptying at 2 ish echoes all the way round the a pts. We were at end of the season so prob worse July/Aug. All said we would use again as for the money good a pts

Room Tip: Go high up as possible and get rooms ending 5 or 6 is 406

We came here with an open mind..
The holiday was a cheap getaway and we loved it here.We didn't come here to cook!so therefore not having an oven was no major problem, we managed to work out there was a grill in the microwave. ...a small but well equipped kitchen area.
Yes there was noise and noise from the trains but if you had stayed in any of the hotels on this stretch you surely would have the same problem?
The facilities at the hotel next door were great although we did eat there and would not again!
Found some lovely pubs and restraunts all with fab food and staff...
So much so we are going back again next year and wpnt want a pool view as the road and pavements are much more entertaining!

Nice, basic apartment ideal for a late break in the sun. The apartment had everything we needed self catering wise.
Towels were changed twice during our weeks stay. We had to dispose of our rubbish but there were bins just outside of the apartments and it wasn't a problem.
Nice beachside location. We managed to blow the fuses one evening but on reporting this to reception next morning the receptionist immediately contacted someone who came within a couple of hours and fixed the problem. The receptionists were lovely, helpful girls.
The apartments are part of the complex of the Tahiti Playa Hotel which is situated next door. Very nice swimming pool area with snack bar and plenty of sunbeds.
Santa Susanna was quite a pretty resort. We were self catering and plenty of places to eat but must admit most places sell either paella, pizza or toasted sandwiches - all a bit fast foodish and by the end of the week would really have liked some fresh vegetables to eat. The apartments back onto the train line but this didn't bother us at all. Very handy for a trip into Barcelona which is about an hour away. There is also a little tourist train which does various routes around the area including a trip up to the old town of Santa Susanna.
All in all, a very relaxing end of season break in the sun.

I was initially apprehensive about this booking because it was so cheap (£80 for 1 week) but tried to be hopeful that the beach side location was enough to make up for any short comings. I was wrong. We came home 3 days early just to get away.

The reception staff work limited hours so if you miss them, tough. They were polite though, when around.
The rooms are seriously basic, more youth hostel than self catering. All we managed to make was a cheese sandwich as there are no ovens, dodgy hobs, very limited utensils and pans and the plumbing is shocking. No hot water in kitchen or bathroom for the whole time we were there. The beds were very uncomfortable but that's the least of your worries in the sleep department. The excessive music right outside until early morning will stop anyone sleeping and if that doesn't, the trains going right passed the hotel every half an hour will!!

On the plus side, the views are good depending where you room is and the beach is right there. That's about the only plus side really.
We went in October and there was very little to do apart from the loud semi empty pubs, poor restaurants and swimming (pool is unheated and could only stand it for a few minutes at a time). There are decent TVs in the room we hoped would stave off the boredom but there's only one English Channel, bbc world news, so don't expect to spend any family evenings in after days out unless you bring cards or your kids like the news.

The resort on whole is very tacky and full of pretend English pubs and drunken chavs screaming late at night or peeing down alleyways (saw that at least 3 times) most places served poor, microwaved
food and it felt nothing like Spain. We would definitely never go back there. Ever.
