“Great value for money, cheap and cheerful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

Just got back from a great holiday. How anyone can moan about these apartments is beyond me. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! The apartment was basic but large, very clean, everything worked fine. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Every apartment has a large balcony with great views. We always got a sunbed, there is plenty of shade if needed, large pool, with a very cheap cafe. In fact its so cheap to eat out why bother cooking when you are on your holidays! Granted the bar across the road is really loud in the night time, but you can just walk down the road a bit to the quiet bars. Santa Suzanna has a strick noise curfuw and everything goes off at 11.30pm anyway. I'm a very light sleeper, so I put my ear plugs in and got a very good nights sleep.
All in all a very plesant stay.

Room Tip: top floor away from road,

Yes im a returning holiday maker, always know what im getting and its great location brings us back year after year. Basic room but lots of space always cleaned ok a few bits missing but the price is good for a family of 5. We used to go downstairs to see Karen in ship but she's not there the staff WRONGLY told us that her partner had died disgusting, she was back in scotland that was not true. We tried the food in El Ship! over priced not good value. We recommend The Kings across the track though pricey drinks breakfast great. We found our friend after asking across the road at the english bar she is in Champions bar in malgrat with her very much alive partner.!!!! value for money 1 euro for a shot 2.50 for pints!

Room Tip: try and get the rooms with a veiw avoid the side above the bins and delivery entrance very noisey ea...

I haven't been to Spain before and wasn't sure what to expect. But I think I chose the right place to stay. We have only been back a few days and are thinking of going again next year for longer at the same place. The staff were wonderful. The apartments were really clean and we had a beautiful sea view. The swimming pool was lovely we went in everyday. We were a family of four, my kids are in their teens so the smaller apartment is just about big enough. Its in walking distant to the shops. Visited the english pub the drunken duck. Good prices. It would of been nice to have a kettle, maybe I will take a travel kettle next time. I think maybe there could of been a better cooker. So we rarely cooked apart from the odd snack. But it won't put me off of going back. Might try the food in the tahiti next time. By the way the beach was stoney. You are asked if you want to buy stuff etc on the beach but they do take no for an answer and didn't pester you. I took a trip to Barcelona one day but I will give it a miss next time and maybe take a boat trip instead too hot and expensive. Enjoy your holidays.

The stay at this establishment has been quite the worst experience in our 20 years of coming to Santa Susanna. The accommodation is advertised as " self catering" One would expect facilities to do so... no not here :- First room allocated ROOM C. No reception staff available as they finish at 6.30pm . No OVEN at all. Hob not working . No kettle . Fridge broken. No Toaster. No mirror. No clothes hooks. No working telephone to reception. no working door bell. No wardrobe. No window or fan in bathroom/WC. No tea towels . No cleaner for the whole stay. No beds made ( sheets thrown in room as were towels on 7 day intervals. Waited in reception for 4 hours (being ignored by hotel bookings manager) at the sister hotel to request a room change. 3 small children starving , tired and fed-up. Was made to stay in room C for first night , which was next door to a pub ! noise ensured we did not sleep. Had clothes stolen off balcony in middle of night. Rang Low Cost holidays for help as was getting desperate. Next morning Police arrived regarding clothes incident ( carefree attitude). Managed to be moved from room C. Much to our relief..... Did things pick up ??? same as the above but add, broken chairs, boiler damaged, ( not next to a pub this time, but music boomed out until 3am . Air-con is 3 euros per day . Wi Fi 7 euro's per day. The amenities at the Tahiti Player were reluctantly on offer, however to get a sunbed a 3am start would be in order. The sos (lifeguards) were very un-kind to the children , the kids club did not have English speaking staff . After a year of waiting for a relaxing holiday, this turned out to be the holiday from hell. We have spent over £1000 on eating out . This apartment should be advertised as room only . Do not come here if you have kids and want to self cater, it will not be possible without facilities. Opt for a half board or a fully equipped place. This holiday for far from economical ..... Very disappointing

Room Tip: Do not book the Thalassa, Try to H Top chain ( always good)

Just booked here for the 3rd time.
Has to be the best pool in the area and can't get much closer to the beach.
If you shop around to book then you can get some great value deals (just booked the 4-6 person apartment for 16 nights for only £10 more than the 1 bedroom appartment)
The staff are great and never had any problems with noise.
It has a good selectin of TV channels (all digital channels although most aren't in english, but hey.. your not in england)
Lots of space, just lacking kettle in kitchen, but they are cheap to come by in you visit the local Carfour (equivalent of Asda) only 5-10 minute walk away, and can stock the fridge up for about €15.
I have tried another higly rated hotel in Malgrat de Mar and found it nowhere near as good.

Room Tip: Corner rooms wave a sea and pool view and larger balconies

We have just returned from a holiday at the Thalassa Apartments in Santa Susannah and agree with a lot of the other reviews - it was a pleasant stay for the price. We had a 1 bedroom apartment for the 4 of us - ourselves and 2 boys, 8 & 14. The apartment we stayed in was a good size. I liked the fact that there were patio doors on both the living area and the bedroom. We overlooked the beach and the road. There is now air-conditioning, but you rent the remote control at 3 euros per day. We kept the window and doors open all night rather than pay for the air-conditioning, but it was very noisy because of the disco across the road and live music from bars etc. but it seemed to stop around 1 pm but there was stilll a lot of revellers wandering around all night singing & shouting.
We stayed full board and used the dining facilities of the Tahiti and had a wonderful gastronomic experience, every meal we had. The food was out of this world and considering they were catering for a lot of nationalities, did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend the food.
The pool area - shared with the Tahiti was cleaned every evening and was a lovely pool, however, there was the usual towel brigade willing to get up at 6 am every morning to get their spot. Good luck to them, it was 33c and definitely not for the faint hearted.
Instead of lying around the pool we took the opportunity to take the train several times to lots of destinations - Pineda, San Pol, Calella, Blanes. Very easy to use and only 2 euros each for Zone 1. We also used the train and bus to visit an old time favourite Llorett De Mar - well worth a visit as it has completely changed since the last time we went, 20 years ago.
We also had several trips on the Road Train, which went into Malgrat, up into the mountains (great trip) and around the resort. Very nice for cooling you down.
If I had one gripe, it would be that the hotel and apartments had a lot of Spanish holidaymakers staying there, and they were very ignorant and rude (not the Spanish I remember of years ago).
All-in-all a nice, cheap holiday with lots of sun and sight-seeing.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.
