“Fantastic little family run bed and breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

We have just returned from this fantastic hotel. yes the rooms were small but spotless and perfectly adequate, the bed was really comfortable. Lovely view from the balcony, nice area with table and chairs.

There is a lovely area downstairs where you can have drinks either alcohol or coffee and nibbles, very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the food in the restaurant for both lunch and dinner was outstanding. The family and staff that run this B & B were second to none. Excellent. Thank you we will return.

We were booked at the hotel for two nights as part of a bike tour. Our room, on the second floor, had a very fine view of the seaside. The room is large, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom is big. The hotel is not directly on the beach. There are steps to the beach or walk around the street, whichever you prefer. It isn't as hard as it looks, although we were tired out from the bike ride.

As guests of the hotel, we were invited to dine at the gourmet restaurant at a special price, which made the experience even better.

It's great that the Casamar has been awarded a Michelin Star. We've been going to the restaurant for a long time and have always been impressed with the imaginative menus and the superb views of Llafranc from the terrace. The waiting staff probably need to shake off some of their Catalan abruptness for it to flourish further but you will not be disappointed at all. The Casamar is undoubtedly the very best restaurant in the locality followed closely by the Sant Roc in Calella

We were three women on a self-guided bike tour with accommodations for two nights at Casamar (this was set up by Creative Catalonia as part of the tour package). Service was exceptional. Staff was friendly, accommodating and the food...we are still talking about the food. We had the most wonderful lunch - and despite the fact we were a bit on the hot and grubby side (and starving) - no one blinked an eye and just made sure we had everything we needed. Our rooms were fine - I was the only one with a seaside view, but all of the rooms were of a decent size, and had balconies. Simple but well appointed rooms. Llafranc is beautiful and our stay at Casamar made our time there dreamy. I highly recommend Casamar as either a place to stay in Llafranc, or well worth a detour to stop in and enjoy either lunch or dinner - you won't be disappointed.

I feel like much of what can be said about the Casamar Hotel has to do with timing. My friend and I booked a walking trip through Creative Catalonia (excellent and highly recommended) and this hotel was booked ahead through that service. It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location and that can not be disputed. That being said, we did have a couple issues that deserve noting. Our stay in early May is off season and the hotel had only eight guests. On check in, we were taken to a room that was extremely small and barely had enough room for us to unpack our bags. The deck was extremely tiny and the beautiful view obscured by large tree. This would've been fine if the hotel was full and this was the only available room but IT WASN'T. We also were there for two nights so needed the space. We asked the front desk for a larger room and were taken to a much larger room with a larger deck and a fantastic view. On a positive note, they did give us a bigger room. On a confusing note, why, (with the hotel so empty) didn't they offer us this room in the first place? Other things to note: The restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday (the two nights we were there). The hotel shuts down and goes pitch dark at night so be sure you know where the side door is for evening entry.

Once again a fabulous meal at the Casamar. It really is streets ahead of any other restaurant in Llafranc. The service is polite and not overbearing . With drinks to start, a good bottle of wine, three courses and coffee and liqueurs for two people, expect to pay around 150 euros. Worth every last cent!
