The hotel is located right in front of the beach (you just need to cross a very small street and you're on the beach). Llafranc is a gorgeous place!
Very peaceful! Worth staying for a few days to enjoy!
We stayed in one of their "Exterior room without view" ("Habitación exterior sin vistas"). The room had a nice size (fairly ample) and a terrace facing a roof top. The bathroom had a nice size. There was a mini fridge in the room. The room was very clean as the hotel in general.
The elevator was quite small although it served its purpose.
The hotel has a restaurant facing the beach and even has a terrace across the street right next to the beach.
Next to the hotel entrance (also facing the beach) is a very nice italian restaurant (pasta, pizzas, etc.). Also in the same street are other restaurants to choose from.
The staff was friendly at all times.
I certainly recommend it!

This hotel is very well located. It has excellent view of the beach which can be accessed across the street.

Rooms are clean, although the beds could be more comfortable.

The staff is very helpful and they provide very good service.

Situated in the centre of this tiny Spannish resort on the front overlooking the beach this hotel provides excellent value for money with a set evening three course menu offering inclusive wine, water, welcoming glass of cava plus coffee for 20Euros to the hotel guests. The air conditioning is excellent and the rooms whilst being fairly simple have everything you could want. Do try and get a room overlooking the front of the hotel as rooms on floor 3 overlook a flat roof - we were led to believe these rooms were allocated to guests travelling with Thomson holidays. An upgrade was quoted at over 30Euros per day so you have been warned! At least the room was very quiet.

Room Tip: Avoid 302 overlooking the spiral staircase and flat roof unless you are seriously into metal work.

We stayed at the Hotel Terramar for 10 nights at the beginning of Sept 2011 (2 adults 4 year old and 5 month old) and would do so again in a heartbeat. We had a superior room on 2nd floor with seaview. Room was just perfect and kept clean for the duration of our stay by the staff, no easy task with all the sand we bought in from the beach. Layout of room was also perfect for this with good sized bathroom and adjoining annex where our 4 year old slept. Breakfast was fantastic, best in town and arguably one of the best I've had anywhere. Atmosphere is relaxed, no fuss, efficient, friendly. Food was great too and on a par with the other eateries in Llafranc. Llafranc itself is a perfect spot to go on holiday with young children. The beach is very clean and the resort itself beautiful, in a pine tree enclosed cove on the nice part of the Costa Brava. Hasn't changed much since I went in the 70s (in a good way). Ideal place to go with young children. In a busy resort, which Llafranc becomes in the summer, the Terramar would provide a haven of calm and airyness as they have not overstuffed the dining room with tables to get numbers in. I can't fault it and I'm fussy. They also provide beach towels as often as required which is a blessing.

Room Tip: For family of 4, superior room on 2nd floor with balcony and sea view is perfect. This is a split room with area for kids to sleep, Z bed and truckle.

This hotel was a gem, so much so that we added another night to our original three night reservation. It is in the middle of this idyllic town and mere paces from the exceptional beach. We had a small, relatively spare but very clean room with a spacious terrace overlooking the water. The bathroom was updated, brightly lit and immaculate. The mini-fridge was a wonderful addition allowing us to chill water, wine and beers for our daily adventures and/or time relaxing on our deck. The wi-fi was free.

Every single staff person we encountered was absolutely wonderful, always cheerful and exceptionally helpful with the myriad questions we had for them. They made wonderful recommendations for restaurants in both Llafranc and Calella de Palafruguell, just a short seaside walk away. They also clued us into to the Golfet, a wonderful little bay/beach that can only be accessed by a walking path or boat. It was an exceptional day spent by and in the water.

We ate twice at their restaurant, both times at their alfresco tables across the street and overlooking the beach and sea. Again, the staff were wonderful and the service excellent. While the sea bass was good, the generously portioned monkfish was absolutely amazing. After a day languishing at the beach do yourself a favor and get a pitcher of their exceptional sangria while overlooking that very same beach.

They do not have their own parking but that was not a problem since there was free street parking about 5 minutes away. We did not enquire but it sounds as though you can find garage parking for a fee as well. Some commented that its lobby and decor were a bit dated, but we thought it was fine and for its price, location, staff, and cleanliness, we will take this over any large, overpriced and antiseptic five star hotel any day.

If you are looking to stay in a jaw droppingly beautiful yet quiet (no mega-discos here) Costa Brava town that still has plenty to do and is a perfect home base for countless day trips, by all means come to Llfranc and stay at the TerraMar.

Room Tip: Just splurge and get a Sea View. Also, we got the impression that some rooms were bigger than others so you may want to enquire.
