We only stayed a night but the hotel situation is lovely and would be great for a family. It has been family run since 1935 and the couple in charge are experienced hoteliers. Service was charming and good throughout and there is some good art in all the public rooms. Our meal was stylish and decent but could have been a bit hotter. The side-facing rooms are very clean and the bathrooms good but they are devoid of view and in high season would be noisy. Perhaps the reason we enjoyed this short stay so much was the warmth and obliging nature of the owners and the idiosyncratic style of the place, in times when so many hotels are boring and identical.

Room Tip: There are few rooms with a sea view and they may well be expensive but would be worth it for a long...

I am are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Llevant. The hotel has evolved, during the years, from three fisherman houses to its actual structure: some rooms face the side street and some face the sea and the promenade, with balcony or terrace.
We are two brothers, Chef and Maitre in the restaurant and one sister in the hotel, the 3rd generation trying to keep the same spirit that made our godmother start it as a hostel before the Spanish civil war.
We have taken note of your comment on the temperature of your meal and we will do our best to solve it.
Thanking you for your review and looking forward to welcoming you gain at the Llevant
With Best Regards
Carme Farrarons

We booked 2 standard rooms and we got them. The rooms were small and simple decored with view on the backwards street but clean. For the price and considering that it was not high season they could upgrate us to a better room in the front with view at the sea.
Parking is a real problem in Llafranc and especial in the area where the hotel is situated. We solved the problem in the "Spanish way" and parked in a prohibited zone. The best of our stage was the breakfast on the terrace.

Room Tip: Rooms at the seaside are for sure better but to expensive

Having visited Llafranc for the past 14 years it is incredible how the standard of what was once a charming hotel has completely deteriorated. We stopped eating in the restaurant a while ago after 3 bouts of food poisoning and general poor service. On a 3 day break over the weekend it was impossible to even get a drink on the terrace. The 2 owners sat at the bar chatting while one waiter tried to serve the terrace. After 10 minutes we left and vowed never to return. The owners have become complacent and arrogant - what a contrast to the Hotel Llafranch where you are attended to as soon as you sit down, all the staff are happy and cannot do enough to make sure you enjoy your meal.

Room Tip: Stay at the Hotel Terramar - superior rooms and a great breakfast!

We booked this in July 2011 for Aug 2011 after reading the most recent reviews. I expected a small family run hotel in a super location i.e. practically on the beach, which is what we got. But the photos of the bedrooms and the reality of the rooms leaves a huge gap. Our double room with balcony at the front of the hotel, smelt damp, had a small tired dated bathroom with a half size bath with shower. The decor looked distinctly 80´s and was also very tired, particularly the bed head. For 250 euro per night, one would have expected at least 2 pillows per person on the bed and at least some floor covering. The room was basic and spartan - we did not stay but did appreciate that the owner refunded us our deposit. She was disappointed and said that this sort of thing (i.e. unhappy guests) "did not happen very often" which I would have thought told her something. The foyer also had a very basic unfinished reception area and walls that had been plastered but not painted. The lounge decor i.e. seat coverings/upholstery were also tired in my opinion.

My room was terrible, but it was the last 1 available, and the cheapest in the hotel..however that aside, the staff are friendly, the food very very good, and the bar and outside terrace are the best in this hidden charming little resort. Car parking too which is rare in this small village. Probs the best place to stay if you are considering visiting, and it wont break the bank

We've eaten at this restaurant many times in the past but unfortunately it's got worse every year we go. This last visit will be the last as it was really poor. The duck was severely undercooked which bled into fruit served with it, the duck was served skin side down in the sauce which made it even more difficult to cut, the monk fish and scallops were so heavilty salted that you couldn't taste the fish or pesto, there was no apology after we returned the duck abd the service was terrible. We used to consider this restaurant as a favourite, not anymore.

The best thing about the hotel is the location. However, in my opinion it is too expensive. I would not stay there again
