Nice hotel, came for a few days with a friend. Clean rooms, courteous staff , nice hotel menu. Close walking distance to downtown shopping and ruins. Just beware that the city closes at 1 pm daily till 4 pm and you have the streets to yourself . Great history would like to have more available English but ...

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for 5 nights from the 12th of June along with a large group of Irish who had travelled over for a wedding in Talavera. To be honest there is not any choice of hotels really as this is a very small and non tourist town. The room was fairly basic but I could not fault the cleanliness of this hotel. I was delighted with the bathroom, great big shower and double sinks etc. The beds are very uncomfortable as they were very hard and there was only one pillow which was also not very comfortable. I was a bit annoyed that there is no iron in the bedrooms and that you cannot even avail of one from reception, if you want anything ironed you have to hand it in to reception and pay per item. The main thing that i would strongly suggest to anyone to avoid is the Restaurant. It is TERRIBLE! The menu is extremely limited and it is in Spanish, the waiting staff could not speak any English either so if you don't have any Spanish you had to guess what you were ordering. The food is very dissappointing and a total rip off. The hotel does not do much of a breakfast either. The town itself does not offer much as far as restaurants are concerned. There are a few tapas bar around the corner from the hotel and the staff in these bars were very polite and the tapas was great so we usually went to these in the mornings for coffee and a sandwich etc.
We had a great time at the wedding etc but the town does not have a lot to offer other than a nice park and public swimming pool and if I was to repeat this trip I would have spent only 2 nights here and moved on to somewhere else for the rest of our holiday. It is definately not somewhere that is tourist friendly as there is very little to see and do here.

It is a clean hotel both in the public spaces and the room, however the bathrooms are beginning to look tired and well worn.
The biggest down side seems that for breakfast, it is no better than going to any bar that does breakfast. No buffet deal that you would typically pay 7 or 8€ for and virtually everyone smokes. Most of the breakfast customers seem to be from off the streets complete with the mandatory lottery ticket seller.
Parking is easy in the street outside, didn't check the hotel garage, neither did the hotel reception suggest we used it which might have been useful so as to have avoided unpacking the car with everything of value.
On reflection, would have driven a bit further for a better hotel with more amenities..
Not worth 83€ a night just for a double room.

We stayed here during a bike tour of Spain in May 06. The hotel is absolutely
fine. It's well appointed, our room was a good size and was spotlessly clean.
It's fairly well located in the town as well. My only moan is that it lacks any
personality at all...but if you're after a pleasant, clean hotel...try this one.
