Spent a week here in early January, little hard to find, at end of new one way system, had asked for parking but it was full so had to park a couple of minutes walk away in the public car park of the golfing down the road. We got 2 bed ground floor apartment 38 down along from the pool with a large garden, but north facing so with the cool wind and in the shade we really didnt use it for our stay but went to the pool side instead. With two kids there was enough to do, play areas inside and outside, a heated outdoor pool and a big enough apartment to run around in. One negative would be the flights, it is in the final landing path for TFS airport and they are quite loud, but are mostly over day, so after 11pm and before 7am there arent that many flights, although there seemed to be extra ones on Friday night which woke us.
Overally friendly staff, was told that as renter (rather than owner) could only use the 4 pieces of gym equipment but the insurance didnt cover use of the hottub/jacuzzi or steam room which was a bit odd. The free wifi in the reception area was ok but very flaky at times, being completely offline some evenings. This time of year good to rent a car as its a bit out of the way and having a car means when its a bit cloudy in the resort you can drive west to Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas, or East to some spots along the coast for for a interesting and stunning drive head up to El Teide about an hour away We did find that the entry road was very busy almost all through the day so expect delays but that might just have been a post christmas issue.
Over all can recommend for families and older couples, maybe a bit quiet for young thrill seekers!

Room Tip: As others have said, your preference close to or far from pool (close to pool can also mean more peo...

We enjoyed our stay at RTCC very much and the 2 weeks went all too quickly. Every member of staff that we met was polite and happy and couldn't do enough for us. The grounds were immaculate and the accommodation was kept beautifully clean. Alanna in Concierge was particularly helpful and even though she left to go home for christmas just 4 days after our arrival, she made sure that we had everything we would possibly need before we even got there and before she left.

We stayed in apartment 17a which overlooked the golf course and past that to the airport. We could sit on our terrace and watch the planes land which was quite enjoyable.

I felt that the actual complex was a little far out from town but my husband really enjoyed that as he likes to take photographs and look at the stars. There is virtually no light polution there at all.

My only real disappointment was the temperature of the heated pool. Compared to the unheated one it was warm but still far too cold for me. I did manage to get into it once but I had wanted to swim every day, but for me that wasn't possible.

The village of San Blas is only a 10-15 minute walk down the hill and there are bars, restaurants, shops and a supermarket. There is a bus stop a couple of minutes walk away from Reception and the bus times are written on the shelter. If you get a 15 Euro Bono pass from the local shop you can get 30% off local travel and 50% off longer haul. You can go to Santa cruz for 9 Euros return instead of the 30 Euros or so that the coach company charges.

I would go to RTCC again but I would prefer something a little closer to the town.

Room Tip: If you want a view the apartments right at the bottom of the complex look over the airporr and the g...

Stayed here in Feb 2011 then at Santa Barbara golf and ocean club Feb 2012 and have enjoyed both resorts so much that we're going to try Sunset View this Feb (all being part of the Diamond Resorts Group)
Our apartment at Royal Tenerife was fantastic having 2 bedrooms a large ensuite bathroom to master bedroom & a communal shower/wc for the apartment. The decor was light and modern. large LCD tv in master bed, large tv & hifi system in lounge area.
All round fantastic resort as was Santa Barbra.
Great area with in easy reach of Las Americas and all its lively goings on.
If you have children then try "Siam Park" Water Kingdom it is amazing even for this 40 year old child :)
We traveled with my partners 10 year old son and he enjoyed staying here but there wasn't alot on site to keep him entertained luckly he makes friends easily so met other children his age with a day or so.

We are just back from 2 weeks at RTCC as Diamond Owners and it is a lovely and peaceful resort.

We were in a 2 bed and had requested a refurbished one, but as we got there on Saturday and change over day is Friday they were all taken. We were given 111 which turned out to have had no renovation at all and the garden was north facing. At 3.00 p.m. it was in the shade which we didn't fancy. So back to reception to request a change and were given the key to 131 with a south facing garden. It had the new sliding doors and the sun on the terrace so we moved to it.

Also it's good to know that it can be windy at this resort and it almost always comes from the north, so you miss most of it with a south facing garden. Also be aware of the "concierge", she is just there to book you in to the sales meeting 30 minutes drive away!! We were phoned twice at home and a further twice on each of the mornings after we arrived at 9.00 a.m. We did go and speak to her to get her to stop phoning us and to ask a "concierge" type question, "where is the best place to change travellers cheques in the area". She had no idea and ended up advising us to hire a car and drive to Los Cristianos!!!! We found a car hire place in San Blas 5 mintues away and used him every 2 days. Resort staff and cleaners were great but 15 euros a week for a car space is a bit much and 30 euros to use the safe in the apartment is just ridiculous. Surely if you are booking the accommodation you should expect to use the facilities in it free of charge????

Room Tip: Choose an apartment with a south facing garden to escape the winds and get the sun. North facing gar...

Thank you for your review – we’re really pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay at the Royal Tenerife Country Club!

We’re sorry to read your comments about our concierge team, however. Please be advised that you aren’t obligated to attend a sales presentation unless you are staying on a promotional break.

We must advise that the in-room safes are rented from an external company rather than being owned by Diamond Resorts International, and the charge made to our members and guests is to cover the rental and maintenance of the safety deposit boxes. We're sorry if this wasn't explained to you during your stay.

We hope that these matters didn’t spoil an otherwise enjoyable holiday, and we’d love for you to return here. We hope to see you again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in November. This was our 5th time at RTCC and it keeps getting better. The staff are friendly and the apartments are spacious and to a good standard.
Had several enjoyable evenings at Cafe Med. The food was good and both Nadia & Estella combined to make sure we enjoyed ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere. Nadia makes a very good Sangria and Estella is certainly a good cook as we thoroughly enjoyed all the meals we had at Cafe Med.
Will be back

Just got back from a weeks stay with the family and had an excellent time at the royal Tenerife. We arrived quite late at night and so we did find it quite hard to find in the dark. we'd driven into the complex once but because the name of the place was not anywhere obvious we ended up driving back out! The first and only real downside happened straightaway when, because the car park is poorly lit my mum tripped over one of the no parking plates that are stood up in the parking spaces and she injured her leg quite badly but it was partly her fault for not looking properly! We got to our lovely 2 bedroom apartment and found it very clean and spacious with a lovely garden area outside. We were very pleased to have the welcome pack which consisted of water, milk, cereal, orange juice and a number of other things which was an excellent idea and very much appreciated as we'd arrived late we could still have a cup of tea. As we were travelling with a baby we'd asked for a cot and we were provided with a nice travel cot and high chair. The apartments are kept clean and tidy and had plenty of facilities for our family. The only 2 things I can think of to complain about, and these are nothing to do with the resort, are the flies, they get very annoying after a while and also the noise from the airplanes as the airport is very close. The on site supermarket is very limited and expensive but there are plenty nearby in San blas. The pool area was lovely and clean and there were always plenty of sun loungers available. all the pools were freezing cold though so didnt actually go in for a swim at all. Even the kids pool which was supposed to be heated was still very cold so I couldn't take my baby in unfortunately. The staff we a countered were always very helpful and friendly and would definitely recommend staying here. It is a bit of a walk to San blas but worth it for the nice restaurants and bars and few shops. Overall a lovely holiday and will definitely go back.
