Jim recommend for a good night out and the girls wanted to go. the food was basic but you got as much drink for both adults and children. The show was really good and entertaining and well worth its money.

If you wish to escape to another age and be prepared to pretend that you are at a medieval banquet, then you are in for a great night. This is not high end entertainment or dining and to get the full enjoyment you need to join in otherwise you may not enjoy it.

The castle looks pretty cool from the outside, although it's not an old castle. When you pull up, you are greeted with the knights and you are allocated a coloured bib to wear which are your team's colours for the night.

As you go in, you get an individual picture taken with the Duke as well as a family picture at your benches. Yes, they will then try to sell these to you as a souvenir.

You are shown to your benches within the great hall for your night of jousting, sword fighting and light enternatinment. Fizzy orange juice and red/white wine are included in the price and you can drink as much as you like of these. Beer is not included but can be bought for 5 euros for a litre.

You get soup in a bowl with a roll - no spoons so do expect to slurp! The main course is roast chicken, a baked potato and corn on the cob - again hands required, so I would recommend taking baby wipes as your fingers will get greasy. The food is not spectacular but I found it tasty enough. You then get a small tub of ice cream for dessert and you do get a spoon :o)

The entertainment is good with pretend sword fighting, jousting, horse tricks mixed together with a bit of a story. They key part of the night is to support your knight and cheer, whoop and holler for them and of course boo the other knights and teams. This is what makes it so much fun.

After the main show is over, you then move to a theatre where there is a show of medieval dancing, flamenco etc. and the opportunity to buy drinks at the bar. There is no free drink at this point. There is also a small souvenir shop to buy gifts etc.

The medieval night wasn't cheap but my family and I all had a great time and loved joining in with the banter and the atmosphere was great. So if you have kids then I would say this is a must. If you don't have kids but you are one at heart, then I would still recommend you go along.

We went because we thought it might be fun, but really it was very cheesy. It's good for families with kids or maybe people in big groups, but maybe not so good for couples.

When does the baddy EVER win?
We were given the black tabard on arrival, to support the 'honour' of the black knight and he did us proud! Great entertainment.
The food - Yes...... Well, if you want to eat (with your hands) a hunk of chicken in the dark supported by a rather tasty pork chop and a potato then so be it. All washed down with a rather dirty wine (drink as much as you like if you dare or wash your hands in it!)
If you want fine dining then get to Los Roques, if you want to shout yourself hoarse then go here. A great family night out.
