“A great resort/hotel in a location with one of the best ocean views you'll ever see.”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

What can I say, this place never fails to impress us!

This resort hotel is beautifully kept with pristine gardens, pools, public areas and amenities.

Each suite we were allocated (3 in total) was appointed to a very high standard, with fulll kitchen/dining facilities, balconies with sun loungers, the best divan beds I've ever slept on and large flat screen smart/HD TVs in all lounges and bedrooms. The standard of decor was lovely and contempory, especially in the refurbished suites (An ongoing program of refurbishment is well underway. So you have a good chance of getting one if you request it specifically).

Beautiful restaurants in house are the 'Little Italy' (a formal and intimate restaurant upstairs) and the more relaxed 'pool bar' outside and the swish 'cocktail terrace' overlooking the pool and ocean beyond. Both retaurants serve fresh, good food at very reasonable prices with a great take away and delivery service too! The cocktails are great too, every one of them!!

Elsewhere to eat and drink, just turn right along the shore line behind the pool and walk about 300 yards and you have a selection of gorgeous little restaurants, especially the Tepanyaki (Eastern Fusion Food) and an amazing little all-day creparia at the end of the delightfully small and pretty promenade.

The staff, from the concierge service to the cleaning service, as always, are really there for you 24/7, they really want you to relax and enjoy yourselves and absulutely nothing is too much for them. They really are that good a team.

A great place to chill out!

We will be back again for sure.

Diamond Resorts considers Santa Barbara to be one of its most popular international resorts with very good reason in my opinion.

Thanks and well done to everyone at Santa Barbara.

Just checked out of the hotel a couple of minutes ago .
The hotel is very good and very well managed , I booked a studio room for me and my girlfriend and we were not disappointed the room is big enough for 2 adults and one kid if you have one .
Everything is clean , fresh towels , fresh sheets , the bed is very spacious and comfortable . We also had a big balcony with 2 sunbeds facing the sea and pool .
We also had a lcd tv with good channels to watch English , Spanish , French and more .
The kitchen area was very good to with a fridge , oven , sink and all the stuff that u need .
Overall the room was excellent .
We only had to call the maintenance man once because we accidentally turned the child lock on the oven and the man was fast came over within 5 minutes that's how good the service was .
Food in the hotel was very good and cheap enough I had English breakfast on 3 occasions and was not disappointed. The pool area is also very good with loads of sun beds available so u will always find one and there is also a Jacuzi at the pool area.
There is really only 2 bad things about the hotel and they're minor things for some people.
Wifi in the hotel is expensive something around 21 euro for 1 week . If u have a unlocked phone then u can buy a Vodafone card or any other card and have internet on the go on ur phones , tablets . For 15 euro you buy a Vodafone card with 1.2 gb Internet that's good enough and it should last 2 weeks . Phone coverage was very poor in our room same as internet coverage we had to go out to the balcony to be able to use it but maybe that's only in some rooms .
The other minor bad thing is the location if you have a rented car then it's ok but if u don't then it's a bit complicated as there is really not much to do at night outside of the hotel only seen 2 pubs one very close to the hotel and the other within 10 mins walk. The bus stop is also within 10-15 mins walk . But the bus times may not suit everyone . That's pretty much it about the hotel . Very good staff always willing to help , very good rooms and service and very good price .

If you want to rent a car and are facing the same trouble as I did , I'm 21 years old and to rent a car online it's not easy . I researched it online for about 3 weeks before going on holidays and with my age and without a credit card was impossible , I even emailed possible very available car rental company in tenerife and they all replied we can do it the age but you need a credit card so I just gave up . When I arrive at tenerife airport I just chanced it and walked over to Europcar and I got myself a car for 221 (including all insurance and tax with a full tank of petrol ) and if you don't have a credit card they ask for 150 euro deposit which I got it back no problem . So if you can't find anything online just wait and get it at the airport .

Stayed here for 2 weeks in July 2014. Excellent facilities built up from rocky shore line. Stayed in a 1 x bedroom newly renovated apartment with a sea view, modern renovation really well done and very comfortable. Good location in walking distance of bars etc. Great staff who were always very helpful. Had maintenance to the room twice to sort out remotes for the two flat screen TVs, they were there within 10 mins and were very professional and polite. Only comment would be pool area can get busy.

My Husband & I recently stayed in the Santa Barbara. This is an excellent hotel and we cannot speak highly enough of it.

On arrival we discovered we had been upgraded to a 1 bed apartment from a studio at no extra charge which was a lovely surprise. We also found the hotel room to be the cleanest and most well equipped apartment we had ever stayed in abroad.

The pool is gorgeous with plenty of sunbeds even in June and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

We ate once in the Little Italy restaurant which was fantastic and many times in the pool bar which was nice and cheap as chips!!

Golf de Sur is a very quiet area with 1 great Irish pub and about 10 restaurants so if you are looking for a lively holiday this is not the place for you however if like my husband and I just want a relaxing quiet trip away (We are expecting baby no 1 in October) the area is perfect.

My only disappointment was the area has no local beach and we had to travel 40 mins by bus to Los Cristianos for that - but that's nothing to do with the hotel.

Overall cannot recommend this hotel enough we had a fabulous time and for a very reasonable price!

We are hoping to go back in April 2015 again after baby arrives!!

Returned today from a 6 night break and were very impressed with Santa Barbara, apartments spotless and well equipped, and exceptionally friendly but professional staff.
Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance and we planned to try many of them but were so impressed with onsite restaurant Little Italy( see separate review) that we ate there for 5 nights out of the 6.
Their 2 for I deal takes some beating -you both have to have the same starter or main, but then you'd normally do that at home anyway, so 2 x Prawns in garlic oil, plus 2 x fillet steaks for about 23 euros exception value for the calibre and presentation of food.
This is the first time I've not done any self catering on a timeshare holiday, but for 2 people the
prices were so reasonable it wasn't worth doing. Don't know how they do the bumper breakfast for just over £3, 2 eggs/2 sausages/2 bacon rashers, beans, tomato, chips - yes chips, and a slice of toast and butter/marmalade. We tried it once and it was freshly cooked and nicely presented but just too much for us, so on other days we had a much lighter lunch i.e. grilled sardines, tuna salad, chicken baguette, never had a bad meal.
The Ocean Terrace Bar is very nice -happy hour from 16.30-17.30 which is a bit early for us, but we managed it as we were on holiday! Also very nice to sit with a cocktail in the evening with live music being played, quite an upmarket ambience.
The staff set up TV screen for the World Cup Final on the Terrace Bar, and did half price drinks during the second half, loads of people there so gave it a nice feeling.
We walked into San Blas one morning and had drink at a bar, the waiter was telling us how many bars/restaurants had closed in Tenerife because the All -Inclusive concept was killing their trade, and that the Government were going to address this problem - not sure how , but such a shame that these lovely taverna's are under threat.
Would certainly recommend the Santa Barbara, and everyone we spoke there seemed to feel the same.

Stayed at the hotel for a week, excellent hotel. Picturesque, clean, modern, amazing facilities, great staff, amazing location, good food. The pool is good and looks amazing. The balcony cocktail bar is a top little place to go and chill out at night. Location is great (inbetween san miguel port and sandos san blas). The WPub is a great place to go at night and provides excellent entertainment. The gym is not your average hotel gym, but a fully equipped gym that exceeds most normal gym standards! Can not rate this hotel highly enough and would easily recommend to anyone.

Just returned from two weeks at Santa Barbara with my sister and niece. Impressively clean with no nasty crawlies. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. A big thank to the animation team for making our stay unforgettable as they are led by an incredibly talented manager who put in much time and effort into planning the entertainment programme and ensuring it was carried out to perfection. Comedy nights especially enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and am hopeful to return to the resort again.
