We have just returned from the San Blas and had a wonderful, restful week. Just what we wanted. We had a quiet room which was kept very clean. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. We did not watch the evening entertainment but happy to sit and have a drink in the lobby bar and chat to friends we had made. The staff here were brilliant and remembered what we were drinking!! Yes there are aircraft flying over but you soon get used to this and don't notice the noise. Although people were saving sunbeds there were always some available and because there were so many pools not hundreds of people sitting around one pool. We visited the eco reserve. Tour took around 2 hours including a visit to the museum and time tunnel. Worth the 7.5 euros and very interesting. We also spent an afternoon in the spa which was blissful! The buffet was good. . There was lots of choice and the house wine was very drinkable. Over the weekend it was very busy as a lot of spanish people use the hotel for weekend breaksWe had one meal at La Proa - a five course meal (mainly fish) which was delicious - and had a lovely evening. There were strong winds while we were there but we were told that these were stronger than normal so be prepared.

There were only two negatives - no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and no air conditioning in the restaurant making it very warm at times.

Would I go back to this hotel? Yes I would especially if I wanted rest and relaxation.

We would like to explain to all our future guests that yes, we do have tea & coffee facilities in the room; they are under request in reception.

I stayed here with my girlfriend 08.07.2011 till 15.07.2011. The rooms were fantastic with excellent bathrooms, the finish of the room was definitely 5* and the rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. The all inclusive food was very good, with plenty of choice. Having read some previous reviews, some people criticised the food, to me this says more about their fussy palates. The all inclusive drinks were also very good with a wide choice and plenty of well known brands included. The service was good, with the staff very accommodating to any of your needs. We found the facilities good, playing tennis regularly and using the spa. The meal in the a la cart restaurant was a nice change, with nice variety coming in the 5 course meal.

There were a few negatives, but only minor. It is windy pretty much everyday, not too much of an issue sunbathing or certain activities but when in the pool it could feel very cold at times. Also, although the pools were very good and looked great, none of them were deeper than with 1.40 meters which meant you couldn't dive or jump in. I appreciate that is a very minor issue! The resort is in a remote location with a couple of small towns either side, there are a few nice bars and restaurants but if you are looking for a busy nightlife this may not be for you. There is entertainment on every night, but it is limited.

These are only minor negatives and should not put you off staying in a top class hotel with great food and service.

Family of six from Bangor(NI) which included a family of 4 plus 2 mature, but young grandparents. This is the best hotel, we as a party, have stayed in in Tenerife in the last 8 years. All good, rooms as on the net and super. Food excellent, fussy child catered for on request. Drink brill as international brands included. La Proa restaurant out of this world, 9 year old daughter eat the whole 5 course a la carte menu! Staff very good, senior management on hand to listen to any concerns etc that you may have. WE CAME, WE SAW AND WE WILL RETURN!!

My wife and I have just got back from a week away at the Sandos San Blas. After staying at a 5 star (flawless) hotel in Egypt the last 2 years we were a bit concerned with a few bad reviews of this one. "Heres my fair review" The hotel itself is clean and impressive,(especially the way it is lit in the evening) well designed with nice pool areas and walkways. The rooms are excellent spacious with large comfortable beds and all seemed to have a good view either pool/lake mountain facing or pool/lake ocean facing. As for the restaurant the food here is second to none, various fillet meat dishes, fresh fish, pasta dishes, Paella, salads, fruits, various vegitarian section, zillions of cakes and deserts I could go on and on, the choice at all meal times is massive with most meals freshly cooked in front of you, wine served with every meal if you want it, also freshly made pizza, fish nuggets, freshly made beefburgers & chips etc if you have kids (how people can complain at the food here??? amazes me). The drinks are branded, bacardi, smirnoff etc on draft is heineken. The staff were excellent, friendly very helpful at all times working very hard, thanks especially to Christina, Antonio and Aramis.
The planes are at a fair distance brief and really don't bother you at all. As for the adult evening entertainment it was pretty standard, dancers, bands, magicians (we did'nt bother with this much and prefered the lobby bar on a big relaxing open veranda with a lovely view) but if you have kids the animation team were excellent and tireless and tried to get them all involved.
The hotel has daytime activities to get involved in i.e 5-a-side football, water basketball, rock climbing etc.
The biggest thing that amazed me (Saturday excluded) that nobody was rushing up early to reserve sunbeds you could go down about 8.30am and there was only a few towels out!!! What a refreshing change. Also the all inclusive on drinks ends at 11pm the place goes dead at 11.30. If you wanted a good scoop with friends you could order a few drinks before 11pm but if you were the other type who likes an early night, no problems with any noise after 11.15.
To be hyper crytical the hotel goes to the other extreem on a Saturday because a lot of locals must get a 1 day pass, to being very busy, to be fair its their country (on this day they have a no reserve on sunbeds and after half hour missing off them they, could be taken ruling) also get down for dinner that day early.
It can get a bit windy but thats Tenerife in general no complaints with this its quiet nice & cools you down.
Finally a few tweeks could finish this hotel off, slightly more comfortable sunloungers, tea and coffee available in rooms.
Overall the Hotels fine you'll enjoy your stay. P.S. Nice Spanish fishing village 5 mins walk to the left of hotel and to the right San Blas supermarket and shops 5 mins walk across the beach and right passed the white hotel.

Just come back from our honeymoon and overall it was a lovely week. The rooms were great, the cleaners were very good in their job as the rooms were always clean and spotless.
The food was good to ok but for an all inclusive this is what you come to expect from a large hotel trying to appease to everyones tastes.
On the whole most of the guests were really nice, we met some real good freinds and will stay in touch. The drinks were really nice and offered some main-stream brands. The wine was quite nice for an all inclusive.

My only littel niggle was the sunbed policy. The hotel says you cannot reserve sunbeds then does very little about policing the situation. On some days a man will walk around and take some towels away but this only happened very occasionally. In my mind in would be better if they either they stuck to their guns and removed all towels or just didnt bother at all. Also my wife had her nails done at the 'beautiful person center' and had to go back as some of the nails just broke off so beware!

We liked the lobby bar the most as it was quite quiet and the service was 1st class.

We stayed here from 24/6/11 to 8/7/11 and had a fantastic time. Like other reviewers, we noticed that some of the parasols and sunbeds were broken but also that these were being replaced during our stay. Never had a problem getting a sunbed but it does get busy at weekends. Planes do fly near the hotel, but we only saw two actually fly over the hotel and you really don't notice the noise. The hotel, rooms and grounds are kept spotlessly clean. The food was excellent - plenty of choice and varied from day to day and good selection of drinks at the bars. The only slightly negative comment was that there isn't a play area for older children, there is a playground but it's really only suited to toddlers. However, with 8 pools to choose from plus climbing wall, kids club etc there are other things to do.

The rooms are modern, well decorated and well maintained. The landscaping is good, the views are nice towards the see and spectacualr towards the mountains. Several pools a few of which are heated merge into the landscape like a river running towards the sea. The food is a self service buffet and very pleasant. The staff welcoming and the service is good. I didn't think the evening entertainment was great but I'm sure others would tink it fantatsic.

There are two negatives but neither are a problem if you are aware of then when you book.
1. The hotel is slightly remote from the night life. That's why I choose it. If yuou are looking to be in the heart of clubland you should look elsewhere.
2. The hotel is near the airport and there is a little aircraft noise. The airport isn't excpetionally busy and we were never distrubed at night.

Niether of these negaitves should put you off. Its a wonderful place.
