“If you want to relax ..this is the place!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2009

We live in Gran Canaria and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. As you walk to reception you walk past the beautiful upstairs goldfish bowl style pool.
RECEPTION
The reception itself is stunning with views out of the panoramic windows.
ROOMS
We upgraded to a junior Suite which was beautiful. Two bedrooms, gorgeous bathroom and another small bathroom off the second room. A mini kitchen wth fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The view from the balcony is lovely..as much as i don't really like being on Amadores beach, to look at it from a far is different!!
SWIMMING POOL
The main pool area is lovely...an infinity pool and a baby pool which has a slide and a little playhouse next door with numerous things for the pool. The kids club is a nice idea, someone sits at a table next to the baby pool with paintingand drawing things all day, so when its hot they can just walk over and draw.
FOOD
The food is great we were half board and it was lovely, however you can upgrade at the hotel to All inclusive for the following prices...from b&b 35 euros each day, HB 20 euros and FB 15 euros...definatley worth it!
So all in all lovely and relaxing not ful of kids, lots of spanish and not many English, German etc...well worth a visit!!!!

As a couple in our twenties we were upgraded from the older Gloria Palace Amadores and I must say we enjoyed the remainder of our holidays and wouldn't look back

On Arrival
-Champagne on arrival seated until we were given our room key what more can you want..

Food- Was excellent including the wide range of breakfast in the morning cereals, full english, omlettes ready made, orange juice, Tea & Coffee brought to your table so no need to fight your way to the machine like some self serve hotels. Lunch & Dinner was always different and had a lot of variety to cater for all most meats included beef, steak, duck, chicken, with other dishes like spaghetti, pasta, roast postatoes etc and mouth watering desserts pasteries/cheese-cake/ice-cream you really can't complain this is the main reason you have to pay extra for the half board supplement as the Gloria Amadores hotel it's included in the price of your stay. I would also like to comment that the dining area was always clean you were seated very quickly and the staff were very organised and attended to your every need.

Rooms- Rooms were very spacious and modernly decorated with appliances such as Microwave, (weren't even self catering) brand new cutlery including plates for room service./ Coffee making machine/ Flat Screen LCD TV in the room/ Balcony amazing with Glass rails and lovely views overlooking the Amadores Beach. Was very impressed with the Bathroom which was also a seperate Bath & a Shower located in the same room.

Cleaners- Were very good even if you missed them first thing in the morning they would clean around the clock up till 4pm to make sure your room was tidy. Not many cleaners would replace the water for your girlfriends roses daily would they.

Facilities including Pool & SPA
Fantastic Pool overlooked the beach with wonderful views overlooking the beach and always room for plenty of people to share not over crowded either. SPA was free unlike some of the hotels in the area which charged 20 euros. Sauna/Steam Room was great.

Tips
-If you go half board you can swap your Dinner menu for Lunch at no extra cost as long as you do it in the morning and let reception know they will give you a slip
-You will get to book a courtesy room on depature which is normally for 30minutes to get showered etc. and there is a secure room which you can leave your bags locked away.
-To be honest we never bothered with the Safe as the location of the hotel looked very secure I didn't see it being a problem
-Don't hang your towels over the glass on the balcony as this is kept to keep the hotel looking authentic "don't worry though not many people do read the brochure"

Overall I would say this is the best place I've stayed in a while and I would recommend it to anyone who is staying in the gran canaria area. You will pay abit more but please believe me you'll be pleased you have. The hotel has just recently been taking over by Gloria Palace but the staff that work there come from 5* hotels so they know how to look after there guests,. I will also add some pictures when I find the time to do so

Very central to Peurto Rico and Amadores and provides a good walk after meals with very cheap taxi back if you need it. My only 'if ' would be there is no real easy access to the beach so running back can be a pain. Best time to go is mid late Ocober and Mid March if you want to avoid kids and crowds. markets are good 1st and 2nd time but get boring after that. i go twice a year but have bought out there in tauro as I am not really a hoel person

The hotel has been taken over not to long ago and changed it's name (despite only being built a year ago)

Our stay there was delightful. The room was comfortable and large (although it should be at the price) all rooms have a great view of the man made beach.

All the staff were great, sorting out a problem with our booking on arrival with out fuss, attentive but not intrusive service in the restaurant, in short, helpful in every way.

The pool is great. The only downside is the hill all the way up from the beach which is a little steep.
