“Fantastic holiday”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Gloria Palace Royal in July 2012. After reading many reviews of the different hotels in the area we decided to just go with #1! And very glad we did! Its an absolutely fantastic hotel with amazing views over Amadores beach.

The coach ride from the airport took us through some quite (no other way to say it!) horrible places with hotels you couldn't pay me to stay in. The coach trip was about an hour and 45 minutes and the Gloria Palace was the last stop. It was well worth the wait!
Everything thing about this hotel and its surroundings made for a brilliant holiday which neither of us will forget. The rooms are spacious and modern, cleaned to a good standard, with incredible views of the ocean. The restaurant is large but whenever you enter, no matter how busy it was, you are always greeted by someone who shows you to your table. Food is varied and there was always plenty on offer.

If you are deciding whether to go all inclusive or not I would recommend doing so. There are many different drinks and snacks available all throughout the day (depending on the time they serve in different locations). The only negative thing I can mention is that if you try the cocktails on offer they can be a bit hit and miss! sometimes great, sometimes pre-made and not so great!

If you fancy taking all your kit off to sunbathe there's a nudist area which we took full advantage of! Don't worry it is enclosed and a nice place to relax.

Overall a great relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: I can't remember the number block we stayed in but it was the furthest from the reception and re...

We came back to Gloria Palace Royal, last vacation was 9 months ago and we just fell in love with this place. Gran Canaria is a very familiar island for us, but Amadores and especially Gloria Palace Royal is something more, something that makes you wanna go back there over and over again.
Flight time from Finland is reasonable when travelling with a toddler and the hotel is providing absolutely everything that you need.
Food is great, all inclusive package is perfect for a relaxing family holiday, pool area is great and big rooms are just what we need.
The personel in Gloria Palace Royal is wonderful, very helpfull and kind.
Hotel is safe place, very clean and luxurious.
Our family just loves that place and I guarantee that we are coming back.

Room Tip: When travelling with a toddler (one child), ask from the reception if there´s a possibility to have...

Have just returned from the Gloria Palace Royal (second week in Dec) and had a weeks sunshine with high temps which was a surprise. Beautiful hotel, all Christmassy when we arrived, which was nice. Free WiFi in reception, but while there all rooms were upgraded to WiFi, so no need to keep going to reception. All rooms overlooking the sea, but Block 2 is the best, very spacious rooms with free tea and coffee topped up every day and excellent toiletries also. Food excellent and plenty of variety. Breakfasts especially good and very attentive staff.

I would go back to this hotel again and would recommend it. I have stayed at 5 star hotels, which are not as good!!!! Fanastic views of the sea. In all a fabulous holiday to remember.

Room Tip: If possible try and get a room on the 5th floor in Block 2. All rooms have full sea views, but obvi...

Just back from our third visit to the Gloria Palace Royal. We love it! A bottle of champagne in the room when we arrived - and the room we requested (where we have stayed every time now). I have a gluten intolerance and told the restaurant manager, Luis, and he personally ordered and delivered my food to the table every evening. On our wedding anniversary we received another bottle of champagne - and a special table covered in flowers in the restaurant that evening. The weather was excellent - no rain at all, lots of sunshine and no need to wear a cardigan/jacket, even in the evenings. Plenty of sunbeds at all times on the top deck. Can't wait to go back in 2013.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea views. Block 3 gets late afternoon sun.

We have just returned from a weeks sunshine and relaxation at Gloria Palace. It was our second visit. Going to keep things simple overall a lovely week helped by the weather of course and pleasant staff however there were a few issues that you might want to think about listed below;

Positives; view, room, infinity pool (fabulous), overall hotel cleanliness and service, spa is superb !!.

Not so positive; food (ok but not great, over focus on show cooking and recycled cold) lunch better than evening which had a canteen feel about it and little atmosphere however on a tuesday they have started a romantic evening/theme reduced lighting/candles live music which was lovely we asked why this wasn't repeated and were told 'it wouldn't be special if we did it every night' on holiday you only get one tuesday and i want all nights to be special.
Pool towels usual reserving of beds is a pain as the front view is the best, if you cant beat em join em.
more small children this time 0-3 yrs a real distraction at meal times, would be nice if encouraged to dine earlier to allow an adult atmosphere for later diners.
There is a real lack of something to do after dinner before the entertainment starts at 9.30, hotel are really missing a trick here as there is not really a nice outer bar area with music etc for post dinner drinks, you end up sitting waiting for entertainment at 9.30, which i have to say overall is fun and worth it.
All inclusive menu has become more restricted, we were all inclusive and were surprised to be charged for a bottle of wine that if you had by the glass was free ? bar snacks were chargeable as were all drinks at the reception bar which in other bars were not. This is inconsistent and the menu is restrictive with whats included and not included and you end up spending time scanning the menu to check. unless you are a big drinker and big eater then all inclusive is not really worth the extra. we only had lunch 2 days out of 7.
Overall though the hotel is lovely, view, spa and infinity pool being the stars.

Room Tip: all rooms have sea view and surprisingly self catering facilities, coffee machine no kettle, take a...

We were booked into an hotel in the same group which did not have the required accommodation & we accepted this as an alternative,,,,half board basis 24 November 2012 for one week. The room was spotless; accommodation in general was to a very high standard and this is achieved through a wonderfully professional and at all times smiling staff. The restaurant staff in particular were courteous, attentive yet unobtrusive. It was a pleasure to witness the atttention and care that the chefs displayed in preparing & cooking the dishes. Well done to all.
