First class room and friendly helpful staff. The all inclusive package we were on was our first and we would recomend this package to anyone considering going to this hotel. The evening entertainment was the only part of the package that was a little below the standard of everthing else. food a good selection and always plenty of it and the staff were always checking to make sure that there was always enough.

Room Tip: try to get a room over looking he sea

We stayed for one week prior to Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing holiday experience. The staff were excellent and very friendly and the food provided enough choice and quality to satisify our expectations. We particularly enjoyed the views on the terrace which were maintained in excellent condition each morning whilst sipping our coffee/water and chat with our fellow Irish.
The attention to hygiene in all areas of the hotel is exceptional and the friendly young barman near reception listened attentively to our drinks requests and was always exactly as ordered.
As each room has a sea view one is always guaranteed to open the patio doors and see the sunrise/sunset on the wide expanse of the Atlantic each morning/evening.

We are really looking forward to return for our next vacation.

First class rooms, very friendly helpful staff , excellent facilities. The location was good, almost on the beach and the marina at Puerto Rico within walking distance. Our only complaints were the "heated" pool was quite cold and the evening entertainment very poor. The childrens' staff were superb, particularly Juan. We went with Thomas Cook through Direct Holidays and I cannot recommend them enough.

Room Tip: All rooms have a great sea view, we were in block 1 which was a little further to walk but had all d...

We have been staying one week at this hotel, and honestly, it is hard to find some negative saying. But should it be, then I would mention that the hotel misses restaurants, it has only one All inclusive restaurant, though food is good, it can be borring having lunch - dinner in the same room.
Rooms a fine, clean and big. We booked a suite with a fantastic balcony.
Room location: try to avoid a room in block 4 you might get a dark room at lower level, why we moved to block 3 -/ 2. level close to reception. Unfortunaley you have to accept noise from children pool but worse, heavy noise from the coast street, that can be massive, due trucks, motorbikes or just traffic noise in genral, also if windows are closed.
So my recommendation, always try to get a room in block 1, which was also recommended by the reception as we checked out.
However the hotel is fine, food good and service staff very polite. Sun terrase close to Block o1 is big, quiet, and many sun beds, excellent place to stay.
We had massage from the SPA club, again very nice and friendly staff.
All inclusive - drinks - is acceptable, though policy seems odd, example; you can not have a cointreau, unless filled with lemon, that's odd, however nobody dies.
If you are coming with car, just park your car inside the hotel area, good space and safe area.

Would be come back, maybe, it is always hard to say, because Gran Canaria / Tenerife have many resorts area, but I would clearly recommend this hotel.

This is the first review I have ever written and felt inspired to do so by the wonderful experience my daughter and I had for our surprise Christmas gift. Our holiday started with a warm greeting by hotel staff (Martina) in the beautiful reception area where we were offered a glass of champagne or fresh juice before being booked in. The reception has a fantastic view overlooking the infinity pool and sea. The hotel is spread over 4 blocks, our room was in block one which although is furthest away from the reception /pools it was nice to be in a quiet block with a spacious room and private balcony overlooking the beach and sea view and was daily cleaned to a high standard. There were plenty of sun loungers on various areas in block 3 and 4 .The upper deck was a quieter area brilliant for sunbathing with great sun loungers. Aqua-gym took place in the infinity pool daily at noon which was great fun and ensured we kept fit as we had the all-inclusive deal. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from a really nice man-made beach where there are also shops and cafes.

The restaurant was very well run, and has great views overlooking the pools and sea, drink requirements were dealt with on sitting down before visiting a buffet offering a wide range of good quality tasty menu options. There was varied evening entertainment in a relaxing family friendly atmosphere, such as Abba, Barry White tributes, dancers, and animal shows which were all very good, along with awards for those of us that participated and won the various activities during the day run by the friendly entertainment team. The barmen and waiters were polite and obliging.

The Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa was undoubtedly one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Last year we stayed at Atlantis in Dubai and although the splendour and luxury of that holiday was amazing this was a holiday that we will equally remember fondly as a great all-rounder positive experience. Everything about it was amazing, the location, the views, the accommodation, the food, the friendly staff, the fabulous pool& spa, the entertainment team, all added up to a great experience all round, you will not be disappointed.

The hotel really is quite nice, I agree with majority of other reviewers. But I also have some points to whine about. All-inclusive, by definition, should not have lots of restrictions. In this hotel all-inclusive really is more like full board with some snacks and cheaper drinks. Lobby bar is also non-all-inclusive. Well, this is not really a problem, but be warned.

I say the service is only average because there were a few highly annoying people. We decided to save some time and get 10-12 water bottles at a time to get all water for the day at one trip. This was a big problem for some of the less pleasant staff members. They refused to bring more than couple of bottles at first, and brought the rest only after we stressed that we really want those 10-12 bottles we asked for. This happened three times during our one week stay. Nice going...

The last whine only concerns people who are travelling with small children. There is a road just under the hotel, which is no problem except when 30 young punks with rented motorbikes are speeding just under your balcony when the baby has just started sleeping. Luckily closing the balcony door helps a lot, but it still would be nice to keep the door open.

Still, this hotel is not a bad choice.
