“A good quality hotel in a beatiful setting.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2011

Good quality hotel, with good service and a beatiful setting.
We got a room at block 4, which is situated nearest the traffic cross section. Some traffic noise could be heard, althought i didnt find it disturbing. As this is a pretty calm place, i didnt notice a lot of traffic at night, so this would be most troublesome at daytime. My guess would be that block 1 and 2 is less bothered with this.
The scenic is beatiful at this place. Hotel is placed in the hill side/cliff side, overlooking the beach and bay area and also having the perfect view of the sunset.
The pool area is really nice, and we spent most of the time on the sunbed drinking good drinks.
Room was good. Basic 2x90 cm bed side by side. Nothing special there. Big bathroom with shower and tub:) A little kitchen area with the basics and good wardrobe size.Porch was big, with a beatiful view of the beach, sea and sunset. Lovely.
Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of bakeries, warm food, fruit and all the otheres. Dinner was ok...basic buffe with meat and fish. Nothing to special.
We spent most of the time eating lunch and dinner on the amadores beach club on the right side of the beach, and have no regrets about it. This is THE place to eat and relax. So recommend everyone to drop the all inclusive, eat the beatiful breakfast on the hotel, and spend the evening on the beach club eating dinner and relaxing. You'll never regret on it.

Although not related to the hotel, worth mentioning is the timeshare/holiday club people infesting Puerto Rico. We tried to go to Puerto Rico, which is just a 20-30 min walk away, but went back to the hotel both times. On the walk in Puerto Rico about 10-15 different people confrontet us in different manners trying to get you to go on different hotels or clubs....REALLY annoying. Local authorities should really do something to get rid of this plague.

All in all...would we go back. Most likely not. Mainly because of the timeshare/holiday club sellers, but also because we like to see new places. Been there, done that:D
But the week we spent there, was all in all fantastic. We'll keep good memories of it, especially the beach club.

Room Tip: Blocks 1 and 2 are most likely the best rooms. Less traffic noise. Avoid block 4 rooms placed close...

The Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa was undoubtedly one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Everything about it was amazing, the setting of the hotel, the accommodation, the food, the staff, the entertainment, the friendliness of everyone, all added up to a great experience all round. If you so wished your time could be spent hour by hour enjoying all the variety of activities which were so much fun. We just couldn't resist commenting on the fabulous pool where we enjoyed the aqua exercises, but most of all playing bingo in the Jacuzzi in the pool was something else, you'll just have to go and experience it for yourselves, I guarantee you won't be dissapointed.

Our holiday started from the moment we got off the coach at the hotel, greeted by hotel staff to carry our bags into a luxurious reception area where we were offered a glass of champagne before being booked in. The reception has a fantastic view overlooking the sea. Our room was huge and cleaned every day by Irene who kept it spotless. The upper deck was a quieter area brilliant for sunbathing with great sun loungers. Aquagym took place in the infinity pool each day at noon which was great fun and ensured we kept our waistlines in check as we had the all inclusive deal which meant 3 meals a day. The restaurant was well run by the maitre de and the staff were very accomodating ensuring your drink reqirements were dealt with on sitting down before visiting a fantastic buffet with the best quality meat I had ever tasted on an all inclusive deal. Eduardo in the piano bar must have a mention as one of the most friendly and obliging barmen with a talent for the most amazing cocktails, nothing is too much trouble for him.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the 5th floor as there is less road noise which is quite evident during the day but...

Just returned from a fabulous week at Gloria Palace Royal. We were recommended this hotel by a previous guest and it did not dissappoint. Fabulous views from our room in block 4. The infinity pool was wonderful,as was the integral jacuzzi ! The restaurant and the food was first class . We were all inclusive and the supplement was worth every penny. Cocktails are included as are decent quality wines and spirits, although they are local brands.
The entertainment was surprisingly good quality and consisted of the usual shows.
Already planning another visit !

Room Tip: Blocks 1 and 2 further away from busy roundabout at entrance therefore quieter

This was our second stay at the Gloria palace royal.

The first time I stayed I was really impressed, staff were pleasant and helpful and the people staying at the hotel were socialable and the service was good. (lots of honeymooners)

On this stay I thought standards have dropped by quite alot. They appear to be struggling to get enough people in to the hotel and are instead bringing people in from other hotels. This is fine but up to a point. This hotel is meant to be more upmarket but due to the transfers in the standards have dropped and some of the people are noisey, troublesome and milking the experience for all they can.

I would advise if you are looking for a relaxing break to avoid this hotel until they stop with the transfers and the standards return.

If however you get a good deal on this hotel you won't be disappointed but at full price this hotel at the moment is not worth it.

We had a wonderful luxurious experience at this hotel- after many years of self-catering, it was a great treat to have such lovely surroundings such as the beautiful pool areas and the chill-out bar. The room was huge and cleaned daily to a high standard - and the maids were always smiling! The nearby beach of Playa Amadores was lovely, and was easily got to via the path-side lift through the resort. The meals were varied and plentiful, and full of interesting things to eat that the other nationalities visiting the resort enjoy.

Room Tip: The rooms are not near the social areas, so all is quiet by bedtime.

We stayed ist week in October with my son and his fiancée we had a fantastic time .The pool with jacuzzi in was great to sit in especially as I'm a non swimmer ! It's within the infinity pool never seen anything like it before .we went ai which was good but you do have your key card swiped every time as some people are only half board The pool bar menu for ai was limited but all freshly prepared and waiter service And ice creams available although this isn't advertised. If you prefer you can go to the main restaurant for buffet . Rooms very spacious and modern with a kitchenette hidden in a large cupboard although no kettle there was a coffee machine microwave crockery and cutlery with a small fridge . If you need water go to the bar you can have as many bottles as you like .we had a junior suite which was 2 rooms 2 tvs and 2 balconies and very clean .i have only one negative that ai is not available in lobby bar you have to pay which is bad as if you go to show bar and bring the drinks up its ok !
