We read the reviews on this site before we went so we were expecting a good hotel. We got dropped off last and hotel certainly has the wow factor from the moment you arrive.

I cannot fault this hotel apart from the sun lounger situation where everyone puts their towels out but it wasn't a problem we just got up at 9-10 and done the same!

The rooms are large and have everything you want we had a good view and a good location in the hotel. The balcony was huge and was everything you wanted we loved the bathroom and you had shower/body wash in the shower which is handy if you forget yours. There was also a good hairdryer in the bathroom

They give you fresh beach towels everyday (In reception) so you don't even have to worry about taking them!

Breakfast was great you had so many choices of hot and cold and even about 5 types of different bread someday's you had to wait for the table to be made but it was done so quickly and professionally it didn't bother us. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

We got a taxi into the town most nite'sso did not stay at the hotel for the entertainment so cannot comment, we wanted a bit of variation in the evenings so one night we went to the Europa shopping centre a bit dated but ok for families and one nite we went to Purto Mogan which was very pretty and quaint but quiet so not much to do apart from eat and sit in a quiet bar (we did find one with a guitar player but don't know if that is every night) the rest of the nights we went into Purto Rico as there were many restaurants there, lively bars and live singers bit tacky but to be honest once you were in a bar it was great fun - you get a bit hassled by the touts but nothing that would put you off going there every night. Very cheap for drinks here as well €3-5 euro's for 2 pints and €10 euros for 4 long drinks as it is always happy hour so you pay for 2 and get 4 the cocktails were especially nice bout €6-7 euros. We ate in some very nice restaurants anywhere between €40-70 euro depending where you go. We decided to go to a chinese one night and it was awful it was a buffet and I didnt think it would be up to much at €8 euro each but my other half wanted to go - we wish we hadnt it was awful but never mind you have to try these things - there is a proper chinese restaurant (not buffet) but we didn't see this till we had allready eaten doh!

If anyone moans about this hotel they are seriously fussy the location is ideal and the beach was clean and beautiful and a short walk way. There is the opportunity to upgrade once you are there to half board or all inclusive (€35 per day per person from b & b to all inclusive) but it was for a minimum of 5 days so we didn't do it because we didnt want to stay at the hotel in the evening.

I would definately go back to this hotel again and would do 5 days all inclusive and 5 days b & b so you get the best of both worlds.

Stayed at the hotel with daughter in law and 5 year old grandson. Beautiful hotel well maintained. The staff couldn't be more helpful nothing was too much trouble. Food was the best I've had in the Canary Islands and it was HOT not warm. My grandson loved the Mini Disco the highlight of his day. My daughter in law loved the Spa treatments. The one thing I would say is that there was not an awful lot for my grandson to do in the daytime it isn't as child orientated as other hotels, but that may be what you want. The Childrens Pool could do with being warmer as we could have left grandson to his own devices in there but it was too cold which meant we had to bring him to one of the other pools and therefore you had to be in with him. Compared to anything else though that is minor everything else was perfect.

Had a wonderful week - staff fine, food good, evening entertainment so-so, - however not great activities for teenagers . Our only gripe was we had a late flight and had to leave our room by 12 noon - we asked for courtesy room to shower in before leaving- which we organised and confirmed timing with reception in advance-all fine until we went to use it. Room keys didn't work and when we went to reception they tried making excuses - that people were still in room (they weren't), timing overruns etc. We had nowhere to change and when we complained were effectively told to use the general toilets. In Airport - talked to another couple who had exact same problem with the courtesy room. This was the only sour note on a wonderful week but a bad way to leave the hotel !

Room Tip: If you have a late flight - arrange for a late check out - do not rely on the courtesy room

We have just returned from a truly wonderful week at the Gloria Palace Royal. Excellent location and the accommodation was extermely clean with good sized rooms with spectacular views overlooking the bay of Amadores. The hotel staff were brilliant, hard working, friendly and if you made the effort to address them in Spanish you were well looked after. Choice of food was excellent, well presented and well cooked. Both pool areas were kept clean with a good selection of sun beds, the upper pool ones being slightly more padded and comfortable. Very good spa facilities to address those aches and pains. Evening entertainment was, in general, very good compared to some other hotels that we've used.
Overall an excellent value for money 4* holiday.

We spent a very pleasant week at this hotel at the end of June. This was our first all-inclusive holiday so we spent a lot of time researching on Trip Advisor before we made our choice and we have to say that we certainly made the right one. The hotel reception staff greeted us on our arrival with a refreshing glass of Cava and could not have been more helpful during our stay. Our room was large and immaculately clean, as was the large bathroom and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The dining room for all meals presented us with a wide variety of choices of a high standard and our drink orders were taken quickly and replenished just as quickly. The swimming pools were spectacular, we however tended to use the upper pool as being the quieter of the two. As our visit was to celebrate an anniversary we dined one night at the Kaia Restaurant and were not disappointed.

We would like to make a special mention of Maria Lujan who always greeted us with a smile and was very professional in her position as Jefe de Sector in the Show Bar.

We have already made a new booking to stay again at this hotel towards the end of the year and look forward to yet another memorable visit.
