In the hotel before the season there is a lot of people and the prices are affordable. We stayed in four people in two-room apartment with kitchen combined. Conditions for good, clean. Internet surcharge, but the lack of coverage in the room. You have to surf on the terrace. Excellent food and drinks. It is difficult to have any reservations. It is a pity that the descent to the beach is not very comfortable.

stayed at the Altamadores from 19/7 to 2/8.
Lets start with some of the negative reviews that have appeared over the last couple of weeks: in the internet age do these poeple not do there homework, yes the Altamadores is "out of the way" Google earth shows this, if you want a la carte cusine your not going to get it in a 3* hotel, so why complain?
In my opinion this hotel and location offers everything you could possibly want for a relaxing family holiday, the accomadation is very good, clean and lots of extra's ( microwave, fridge ) on a downside no air con ( but we knew this ), and what seems the norm now pay TV.
Pool area: first impression was "its a bit small" and we'd read about the sunbed situation, but that seemed to have been dealt with, we never had a problem and even after 9am there were spaces, the poolside to be honest was never really that busy, and easy to lie and switch off.
Food: ok not top quality most veg, rice straight out the freezer into a microwave and served, but it was ok, meat dishes were fine, the themed nights work well and the BBQ was by far the best night; there's plenty and the dishes are replenished constantly: Breakfasts were great and lunchtime selection was always adequate.
Bar: self service enough said: quality of drinks the same as every all in place I've ever stayed in.
Entertainment: Jamie is on a hiding to nothing, in the afternoon he organizes a couple of activities Water Polo etc, then the world famous Bingo, you dont have to take part, and if you wanted more try an activity holiday: in the evening everything is nice and relaxed, quiz, local act ( all were surprisingly good while we were there) a life changing game of Bingo, nice if you cop a win!!! then Jamie fills in the remaining time, bar closes at 11pm on the dot, grab a couple of drinks and move outside, nice way to see off the evening:
the way i judge a holiday is "would I go back?" definetly yes: the place was the friendliest hotel I ever been to, staff were great, Perry the rep always there to listen but never in your face.
Thank You Altamadores- your staff do you proud.

Im not the one who paid for this holiday, my parents did, so I cant judge how good the 'value for money' was, but I assume it was good. we stayed for 2 weeks with another family (our friends!) and it was great. Im 14 and so is my friend who we were with and our brothers are 10 & 17 and we were all entertained by Jamie throught the day and night! The pool was cool and the surrounding area was nicr too. We loved the billiards but people messed on with it and it broke a few times. Food was good, some nights better than others. We did the catmaran trip with Raoul and it was great, lots of people sea sick though. if you go, check out Stadium bar and MaryD's up in the europa centre, 2 minutes up the road:D
Over all great time, happily go back!:D loved jamie haha!

I arrived at the Altamadores on Thursday 12th July early afternoon for a fortnights holiday. The hotel was up in the hills of the Amadores beach, unfortunately a bit out of the way from the main town in which you required to order a taxi from the reception. The hill it self was quite quite steep to the hotel from the beach which also required a taxi, a must have for kids or elderly. You could walk fifteen minutes up the road to the Europa centre which has local bars and restauraunts, be prepared for people trying to pull you into their place for food and drink. The hotel it self was nice. The apartments had a bedroom with two single beds pushed together and a large sliding mirrored wardrobe and also a door to the balcony. The kitchen with two ring hob, fridge freezer, microwave but no kettle. The bathroom had a shower, toilet, sink and hair dryer, no bath though. The living room had an L shape couch which could sleep two, a coin operated LCD tv and patio door to balcony. The maids always cleaned the rooms, at least 4 times a week. Cleanliness was very good. The view from the hotel was very good due to its location. The sea and beach were Clearly visible. The hotel is mostly full of all inclusive holiday makers, so soft drinks and local alcoholic drinks were on tap. Food wasn't the best but it done the job. Entertainment was good and Jamie the entertainer always had activities for people to participate in. These ranged from killer pool, to cross bar challenge, archery and water polo. There was always two games of cash bingo in the afternoon and evening. (excluding Mondays) There were two pool tables which require one euro per game play, everyone played pool throughout the day. There was also the happy feet fish pedicure which was open on Sunday's Mondays Wednesday's and Friday's, the woman there was also friendly and sold other products like tan shot, hats, glasses and other accessories. I would re visit the Altamadores again.

Arriving at this hotel after reviewing it i can only say Dissapointed wasnt the word!
It states this hotel is in Puerto Rico and after having stayed in Puerto rico 3x previous it is clearly not! its situated Half way up a mountain on the opp side up from the Ammadores Beach about a 40min-1hr walk from the town centre.Taxis are a must .
Hotel rooms very spacious full kitchen ie fridge freezer ,microwave, toaster etc unusual with Ai,we booked with 2 16year old lads and were given a 1bdr apt which consisted of 2 sofas one larger than the other, not great for anyone taller than about 5ft.
We did arrive when the heatwave had hit and didnt find the fans adequate but once the heatwave had died down they done there job.
Pool... I think is wey to small for the amount of people, they also on a Thurs they put a massive inflatable in the pool it takes up the whole pool so you cant go for a swim, and its 5euro to use it!!
Food... I thought the food was outstanding for an AI,themed nights most evenings and also your usual stuff,Chinese buffet night on a sat is fab as was the bbq on a wed I would same the same about the salad stuff and flies it needs to be covered..total put off!.staff are lovely and always chat.
Entertainment...Well it doesnt start until 2pm,it consists of 1 guy throwing a ball in a pool and letting them get on with it ,much the same with football.not alot of interaction and taking part, not even music by the pool until he comes at 2. this is only for a couple of hours and includes cash bingo which is a major part of the intertainment!
Evening...No mini disco, it does now state this in the brochure, they shows i did see were good but once again its bingo.
Great food ,good enuf Drink self service, poor location and poor entertainment really felt we had been mislead with this location..suppose the name of the hotel gives it away!

We arrived during a heat wave, given a map to our apartment which was big but basic and need of a revamp ! ( mold in shower, marks on walls ect ) We knew that there was no air con but thought there would be adequte fans - one small fan per room ! no extra was offered during the heat wave but could HIRE them from reception !!! not what i expected from our first all inclusive.
The sheets were only changed on the 8th day !!! 40 degree heat & one small fan = sweaty sheets every night ! not very hygenic, NOR was the food, unless you were lucky enough to get to it before the flies !!! The Beer was Ok but spirits tasted medicated so i bought my own !!!
Entertainment - ok if you want to play killer pool, football lor archery ! for the younger children there was nothing apart from a cockroach infested playground (well slide) We saved all year for this holiday and we feel very let down - at least we got the sun :-)

Room Tip: book a different hotel !
