Stayed at altamadores apartments for 7 days mid July.
Arrived at 8.45pm, quick efficient check in, given a map with directions to our apartment. I had emailed to request a sea view and that's what we got. Apartment spotless, and plenty of room for the two of us. Bathroom spacious, with the best shower we have ever had on a holiday! Large balcony with table, chairs and Sun beds. Two fans which helped keep the room bearable, but we did keep the patio door open at night. We did have a couple of cockroaches, reception gave us a spray when we told them. The information said the apartment would be cleaned 4 times, but the maid came every day except Sunday! She cleaned thoroughly, and left clean towels every other day.
Food wasn't the best we have had on AI, but was ok, no upset stomachs. Not much choice for vegetarians. Drinks were fine, would have liked some cava though!
On arrival we noticed that towels were left on Sunbeds all night, we asked at reception if that's what people did and they just shrugged. So next morning we managed to secure a couple of beds and a parasol, and we left our towels out 24/7, if you can't beat em join em! It did save the getting up at 7am to get a bed that we have previously had in other hotels, not that it makes it right!
Nice quiet location, much nicer than Puerto Rico. A trip to Mogan is recommended if you want to find a bit more of a traditional Canarian resort, with some nice tapas places etc.
Entertainment seemed quite poor, compared with previous AI we have been to. We weren't bothered, but if you want entertainment for adults or children, i wouldn't recommend it. No kids club and the lone entertainment guy wasn't very engaging!
Overall, the altamadores is good value for money, we booked direct with the hotel, and it seemed much cheaper than other accommodation we looked at. If you want a cheap no frills, clean hotel then this does the job!

Just returned from the Altamadores. This was our 5th visit to this hotel so had a good idea what to expect. As always the food was great, rooms very clean and comfortable. Great entertainment from Jamie, kept us amused throughout the day with various competitions and games, all of which really helped to create a very friendly and fun atmosphere. Jamie also had great shows lined up for the evenings some of which we had not seen before but thoroughly enjoyed.. If you are after a family orientated holiday the Altamadores is well worth a visit.

No doubt we will be booking up again.

We were at this hotel for 2 weeks all inclusive in july and i must say it was fantastic the food was brilliant plenty of choice everynight and all through the day. I liked the fact of the help yourself bar no need to que etc altho there is a bar attendant there if u need him. The rooms were very clean. Entertainment throughout the day thanks to Jamie he kept my two boys aged 14 & 10 happy playing killer pool, water polo, football and many more not to forget the Bingo the entertainment in the evenings was also fab a different act on everynight and not repeated for the 2 wks spent there again after the acts Jamie was on hand to keep us all entertained till 11pm till the all inclusive finished. The hotel was close by to local bars beach and shops and taxi are all just a few euros. Great value for money and looking into booking up for next year already :)

Room Tip: All rooms seemed much the same although rooms not facing pool will be quieter at night

Just back from an 11 night stay in the Altamodores and we had a great holiday, we are a family of 4 with 2 young girls aged 6 and 3. The rooms were cleaned every 2nd day and fresh towels were provided as well. We had a nice pool view as requested.

Room - 1 bedroom apartment, very spacious with all amenities that you require e.g. Large Fridge Freezer, Microwave & Toaster (although we didn't use as All Inclusive). Toilet had no bath but shower was big enough and powerful, LCD TV €1 per hour was a pleasant surprise with Sky Sports 1, 2,3 and BBC World News and Sky News along with Kids channels Nick jnr etc.

Food - Food was good, Breakfast had the usual various cereals, toast, eggs, bacon streaky and British tasting Bacon, also British Sausages which were tasty. Lunch was pretty much the same every day, salads, burgers, toasties, Chicken, Hot Dogs, Soup. For Dinner there were different theme nights chinese, indian, italian, BBQ, Soup, Salads etc....

All in all the food was good, always something there that you would eat, there was ice cream for desserts, along with various fruits and the various cakes were delicious.

The only problem with the dining area was that the tables cloths felt very sticky and it appeared that they weren't wiped down in the most hygenic way, no spray was used to clean and it was just a wipe down with cloth that had been used numerous times previously.

There was Ice Cream and Slush Ice Drinks available during the day till about 6pm.

Drink - We only drank the estrella damn on draft which was fine and the self service option made it easy and quick to get a drink, all soft drinks were on self service as well. Kids could get fresh orange from the machine all day self service again. Drinks were available from 11am till 11pm and if you wanted you could get a couple at 10.55pm and sit and drink after 11pm or take back to the room.

Entertainment - Jamie tried his best throughout the day with Killer Pool, Table Tennis, Waterpolo and couple of games of bingo at 4pm. Nightime entertainment consisted of Jamie doing a quiz from about 8pm till 9pm then a show would come on e.g. Parrot Show, Magician, Reptile Show, Tropical Show. Once that had finished we had nightly bingo then Karaoke till 11pm.

Disappointingly there was no mini disco for the kids.

Also be aware that the entertainment is held in the same area as where you eat your dinner which is not great.

Location: You are a 20 minute walk up the hill to the Europa Centre and 15 minutes down to the beach, it is €2.50 in taxi back from beach and €3 back from Europa Centre, it is €4 euros to main commercial centre. You only have the Supermarket on your doorstep.

Jamie advised us to go to the Taurito Waterpark(thanks again Jamie) which is part of Paradise Hotel in Taurito rather than Aqualand near Maspalomas, Taurito is near Mogan and is €11 in a taxi (15 mins away), it was great advice as it has plenty of slides for adults and kids, it is also half the distance and price of Aqualand, we paid €28 for 2 adults and €10 for the 2 kids so €38 in total - well worth it for family of four.

Previous years we have stayed in similar 3* rated Hotels in Lanzarote and Sa Coma but would say that the Altamadores was much better in terms of accomodation and food.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Altamadores and would definitely go back in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are good, close to pool and Bar/Restaurant, view is good also. Room 41...

Just back from a 2 week stay at the Altamadores apartments and had a great time.
Can i just say after reading recent reviews i feel people are being slightly harsh about aspects of this complex.
Yes, you do get what you pay for , and after paying just over £2000 for a family of 4 ALL INCLUSIVE i really dont know what people expect??
It is a 3 star hotel, not 4 as some people have suggested.
I was extremely satisfied with the value for money, come on , £2000 , not a lot for a fortnights holiday!
The food was more that adequate, you could always find something to eat, at all times of the day, I will agree i did try to hunt out the elusive coffee and cakes on several occasions, but no luck in finding them !
If you are that desperate to have something to eat that is not on offer, there is a supermarket right at the entrance to the hotel, with a very friendly lady serving.
I found the complex to be spotlessly clean in all areas and never once saw any creepy crawlies, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful at all times, when i arrived the reception staff were very helpful in sourcing a fan for me to hire for the room as the room was very hot, they also found out prices for hiring a mini bus to go to Aqualand, in fact, nothing was too much bother for them.
Perhaps the entertainment could have been more varied, but, it was adequate, Jamie certainly kept the kids entertained with killer pool, football, etc.
I would not hesitate to go back again, good value for an honest, good value holiday

Room Tip: the rooms on the third floor,( numbers 400+, i think ) seemed to have the nicest outdoor areas, larg...

Me and my partner and friends just returned from a 7 night stay. Hotel is spotless and our rooms very impressive, looked as though they had never been used! Bathroom was huge as was living room and kitchen which was fully equipped even though we were all inclusive. Food and drinks are great something different every day and themed nights i.e bbq was lovely! Pool and sun loungers can be abit full but the beach is only down the road and is a nice change. Entertainment in the nights is interesting i.e parrots show, reptiles etc and some nights can be a bit boring but europa centre is only a 5 minute taxi ride :)
Great value for money as we paid just over £600 for a week all inclusive for 2!
Dont listen to bad reviews they must just be fussy buggers!

Room Tip: rooms 215 and 216 are inside the hotel and are new!
