Where do I start. We visited this amazing place for our first family holiday, me the husband and three kids. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I was impressed by the cleanliness throughout the hotel the cleaners work so hard to keep everything spotless, they are followed by supervisors who check they are working to a high standard . The food is really excellent lots of choice with a diet corner for healthy eaters like myself, yes it can get a little repetitive but hey be adventurous lots of different foods to mix and match. Lots of choice with drinks, wine and beer on tap and my favorite sparking wine from the bar. Free water from reception when ever you want it and a fridge in your room to keep it cold. I am a gym fanatic so was impressed with three classes and day, eusbio the Spanish gym guy is worth his weight in gold very enthusiastic and amusing also very easy on the eye ladies . Henry the life guard was a great guy too, talking to the guests pushing kids into the pool very friendly. The entertainment yes can be a little corny but still entertaining and the crew work very hard. We emailed to request a higher room , this was granted with the beautiful view of the beach. Book in to for dinner on the top floor for great service and carafes of beer, wine etc with your meal. All the waiters were helpful and were great with the kids .
If your looking for a holiday book this hotel. We loved every minute and would gladly go back time and time again !!!!
We found Puerto Rico a bit tacky , and watch out for the time share touts who will try to get you to go see the new area they are promoting anfi, it involves three hours of power points and questionnaires they promise a freettrip of your choice its a scam don't waste valuable time.

As a family we have been 4 times over the Xmas and New Year period. Food typical Riu which is excellent . Staff friendly. Animation team work hard . A very safe accommodation for those with children and teenagers. Pool area good plenty of sun beds and umbrellas . Toilets and communal areas kept very clean. Only problem it appears Thomson group are now the only operator you can go through as a package holiday .

Room Tip: It's an upside down hotel built on the cliff . Most have fabulous sea views. The pool is at the...

Another amazing stay at the riu vistamar. Views fabulous as always. Staff amazing & food fabulous. Read a recent review saying that the hotel was let down by Spanish. Not understanding of this due to the hotel being in Spain!! Dont go abroad to overseas countries if you dont like the people whos home it is. Yes multi national hotel but at least not full of Brits. It's a true beauty. The entertainment amazing as ever.

Had wanted to go to this hotel for years as it looks beautiful from the outside but looks are deceiving. My family and I arrived on a late night flight and got to the hotel at midnight. Check in was fast and we were sent to eat a cold option dinner. This consisted of ham and cheese slices, salad, bread and butter. Nothing that my little ones would eat and they eat most foods.
The room was large (261) but had a damp smell and was outdated. The beds were hard and pillows like boulders but we were so tired that we would have slept anywhere. The view was one of the best I have seen. On a morning, the cleaners wanted to be in at 9am and sometimes earlier.
Breakfast (8am- 10.30am) was plentiful with cereals, fruits, yogurts and a cooked option with undercooked eggs and dodgy looking sausages.
Lunch (1-3.30) was pizzas, pastas, salads, breads, potatoes in various forms :(
Dinner sitting was given on arrival and is either 7 or 9pm. Much more choice with fish, veg and usually a roast joint. If you have the 9pm sitting you miss getting a seat in the entertainment hall ( if you have kids they will love the mini disco). Also you have to pay for your evening meal on the last night unless you want to starve. 15 Euros per room which is ridiculous when you missed your dinner on the flight in. I am furious with Thomson over this because it is not stated on their website so complaints will follow.
The hotel is upside down with the rooms on floors 1-5, shop floor 6, reception on 8 and pools and snack bar on 9. I was on 2 and spent soooooo long waiting for the lift to go up to get a drink or a bite to eat. The snack bar serves burgers, hotdogs, chips and the like until 5.30.
I found the food very repetitive and didn't like the way the tables were crammed up to each other especially when people on the next table were staring all of the time.
Children's pool was adequate with a slide and 2 swings in the playground next to it. If you want a sun lounger, they are all taken by 10am and although the staff say no reserving, just get on with it. If you can't beat them, join them!
*Pool towels are to be changed from 9-12 every day on floor 9.
*A courtesy bus takes you down to the beach every half hour or whenever they fancy turning up but taxis are only a few euros.
*Amadores beach is amazing but why pay for all inclusive if you don't use it.
In my opinion if you are spending this sort of money, there are better places to go for getting what you pay for. No way is this a four star!!!!

Room Tip: High floors are less of a hassle with the lifts however family rooms are only on floors 1 and 2.

Had a lovely time at this hotel, food was good, service was good, trips were good, but what spoilt it was the Spanish. They ruined the holiday for us by being rude, jumping queues, taking over sun-beds and generally overrunning the hotel, they received preferential treatment from all hotel staff and kids club staff and would therefor not recommend this hotel for August.

possibly the best holiday ever, it was such a happy and friendly hotel, walking past reception or even just into the restaraunt everyone would stop their conversation just to say hello. you are given a set table for dinner which you stay at on the dinner of your holiday which is a good idea so you are guaranteed a dinner table, the activities are good in the day just no activities for teenagers, which is what I am, to do during the day so it was either the pool or nothing which was pretty poop but ah well. the location of the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, it took us 4 hours just to get to and from pueto rico which was ricdiulas but the Europa centre was about a 15 minute walk just the walk up there killllllls you because it's up the massive hill, that has a variety of shops but never buy dre beats from there as they are fake. the supermarket and that are good. there is a little ship within the hotel which sells a little bit of everything, Internet cafe and hairdressers. do not waste money on wifi and just use the computers on the 6th floor, it's so much cheaper. as there was no activities there for teens I found myself on the computers way to much because i was bored. the view over amadores beach is lovely but unfortunately our balcony view was on the other side so didn't get to see it often plus if you need a wee at the beach you have to pay, pathetic!! overall I loved this holiday so much and I would defiantly go back if I had the chance, it's just expensive to stay there but I would love to go back. I would like to thank every single member of the hotel for making me feel welcome and being so police, thank you so much xx

Hotel lives up to RUI reputation and standards. It is what you might expect, no dissapointment.

What makes this hotel stand out are the views on both sides, due to it's location on a cliff. You have an exceptional views on the playa de Amadores Amadores and along the coast on both sides. Which is way better than just sea.

Apart from that, staff are very friendly, rooms and hotel are clean, food is good etc.

Certainly a place I dare to recommend to anyone - as long as walking is no issue since the hotel has a lot of stairs...
