My sister and I wanted a cheap week away with our boys in the school holidays and after booking this read the reviews and got a little worried.....We were very pleasanly surpised. We paid just over £300 all inc and defo got value for money. Yes it is basic but god if you want luxury then pay for it. The rooms were spacious with a kitchen area with all utensils, fridge, kettle and cooker and they were clean, a little tired looking but had everything you need. The food was good, not a great deal of choice but each night was a different theme and was always tasty, we even had a bbq one night and the meat was good quality. I found the people who complained about things liked the sound of there own voices and obiously want everything for nothing. You are right at the top of the cliffs but the views are lovely and a taxi is only about 3.5 euros down to the main areas. Overall I would say you get more than you pay for and I would go back again for a cheap week in the sun.

Stopped here with my family and friend of the family,
The rooms were of a good size and the pool was too. Cleaned regular, fridge/kettle etc even though all inclusive.
The hotel is in a great location, straight across the road from the Europa Centre.
The food was ok, not brilliant. I dont think the heaters where the food was placed were working correctly as the food wasnt very warm.
We had a good time here as we had a good time all together as a family had a laugh and managed to persuade the person working behind the bar to play our ipod instead of the old cd they had! :)

Not sure if i would go back here, one reason i would would be the location.

Overall not that bad to be honest.

We stayed in Lara apartments before we left we read reviews & we have stayed in some bad places! The bar staff was the normal Spanish miserable but if you break the ice they fine its like you can have 2 drinks all inclusive but dont waste 2 cups just give a decent drink in one plastic cup! The food was different country every night sunday the best beef other nights left overs from previous nights with sauce added, lol Breakfast full english i dont eat sausages at home but its either eat or starve if you go all in! my daughter loved the pot noodle we had, seriously! Telly went after paying 3 euro they soon sorted it no probs got free tv next day! If you go anywhere in Gran canaria its the same just go self catering not a family place & its not cheap for souveniers i wanted a big lighter it was 4.99 euro my daughter brought one from brighton a quid! Cant knock the weather! oh & did meet Colin the cockroach we see a few little ones at night but a huge one had to die, lol stayed up late saw RAT round pool the wild cats soon attacked it

I'll start with the good points because there arent many. The apartments are of a reasonable size - fresh towels every second day and the lager they serve is nice.

We were sold a 3* all inclusive......if this place is 3* then the ratings have severly changed since my last holiday!!!!

1.On arrival we told to wait outside our apartment for nearly 2 hours with 2 small children in the blistering mid-day sun as our rooms hadn't been cleaned yet.
2.The reception staff are entirely unhelpful and dis-interested.
3. We were refused a key to the outside gates as they do not have enough and so most nights we were either locked out or locked into the complex.
4.Cockroaches everywhere
5.Rude Staff - talk at you not to you and god forbid you ask for something!!!
6.The food is mediocre at best, breakfast and lunch is repetative, dinner is themed every night and is ok but always overcooked.
7. We saw a tray of cutlry dropped on the floor in the kitchen and just picked up and put out to be used.
8.No cleaning fluids of any kind used anywhere as far as i could see, when cleanig our bathroom and kitchen areas the same cloth was used for both - bathroom first, kitchen second. i had to re-clean my apartment everyday.
9. Most machines ie. juice/tea/coffee/toaster broken
10. lara restaurant and bar was shut for the whole summer (june to september) and self service bar which is so energetically promoted to us was never open either.

There are plenty of other irritating things that all added up to a pretty disappointing holiday but if you take heed of anything let it be this....MY 1 YEAR OLD SON CAME BACK WITH WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SWEAT RASH...IT TURNED OUT TO BE A VIRAL INFECTION SIMILAR TO COLDSORES. HE NOW HAS IT ALL OVER HIS BODY AND THE DOCTOR SAID IT IS MOST COMMONLY CONTRACTED IN SWIMMING POOLS

PLEASE SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ELSEWHERE......THE AREA IS NICE BUT THIS COMPLEX IS A SHAMBLES AND UNHYGEINIC

The apartment was clean and a good size. Nice to have kettle and fridge even though all inclusive. Quiet area 'no kids club' - great
Cleaners came in most days either with fresh towels or laundry, or just to mop.
Staff were very friendly, and worked hard.
Food was themed throughout the week, although limited choices, always something to choose. Pool was freezing
This Location is 655 steps up from the beach, or 4 euros in taxi -use key to back gate for taxi rank. Pubs and bars over the road, were lovely (xtreeeme is great)

We didn't have high expectations with a fairly cheap all inclusive option but were pleasantly surprised. I was surprised to see some of the reviews on here about bugs n stuff but they were at a different time of year to when we went so i'm not sure whether that has an effect.
I haven't been abroad for 10 years so was only looking for a clean room to have as a base. We got the room cleaned and fresh towels every 2 days and clean bedding once during the week. Never saw a single bug during the week thank goodness.
We had twin beds, separate bathroom and a kitchen/lounge area. The staff on reception were very helpful (the blonde lady especially who speaks good english).
There are 3 shared pools on the site between the two sets of apartments, the biggest of the 3 being heated. We nearly always managed to get a sunbed in the afternoon and all guests were British. We helped ourself to the all inclusive beer and drinks, which included some shorts so I felt we got our money's worth. The apartments are set high up but the Europa Centre and taxi rank are literally across the road.
We were expecting to walk and we do enjoy walking. It is a good 20 mins down and up either way down to the beach and main centre but we managed it every day.
Personally I am scared of heights and spent the entire walk looking at the floor because of the sheer drops - I know - but I hadn't appreciated how steep when I booked. That is the only reason i probably won't go back as it did cause me alot of angst, even in a taxi which whiz round the corners and you feel like you're gonna disappear over a sharp corner.
The food was basic but ok. We did eat out a couple of lunches and evenings but only because of walking back up the hill before we were ready. All I would say about meal times is to try and get there at the start of the session as food quickly runs out and once it's gone they finish so you could sometimes turn up to find there is nothing left and they've closed early. Plenty of choice at breakfast though. Bar staff were very helpful, just one very miserable waitress in the mornings who cleared the tables.
We found ourselves in Mary Ds bar a couple of times across in the Europa Centre as they are English run and have live entertainment.
Oscar's restaurant down in the main part on the sea front is fabulous but you need to book as they are packed out with repeat visitors.
As a base I would certainly recommend it.
