“Nice but uncomfortable......with cheese!”
Review of Sagitarius Cat

We purchased our tickets for the Sagitarious at our hotel with the promise of a nice relaxing day with complimentary beer and food on board, this all sounded very reasonable at a cost of €45, and for an additional cost we could enjoy some jet ski's or para-gliding. We arrived well before 10am as instructed and as we waited to board the queue of people became larger and larger and it was evident that there was going to be a bit of squeeze on board, you could see people becoming anxious to get to the front on the queue so as to get one of the limited positions for sunbathing, as it turned out our group of 4 were one of the first to board and we went to the front of the boat and got ourselves settled while others were pouring on. It was around 10.30am when the boat cast off, by this time people were shuffling and manoeuvring into postiion in a futile effort to get comfortable. The journey out to sea and around the coast was beautiful and if you could manage to turn your back on the throng behind you the experience of the Sagitarious was very nice, that was however until the very cheesy, middle aged wannabe club 18/30 Dutch tour leader came on the microphone to annouce some pointless information only for the sole purpose of allowing him to chip in with yet another sexual innuendo. This guy was pure annoying and I expect he made the trip twice as uncomforable for most. With him and the over crowded aspect aside this was overall a fairly enjoyable trip and good value, the stop at Mogan to have a swim was the highlight.

I have been on similar trips on other holidays. This was a good day out. Was fun the banana boat was great. and the stop at Morgan was a refreshing break. yet, not much to snorkel for no fish lurking around our stop .Our boat was over crowded many people had to sit in the walk ways, Also the promised boat trip to the caves was not delivered. Breakfast was sandwiches cheese or turkey ham. and they ran out 2 small quarters each. The buffet lunch was pasta in bolognas sauce. No other food options. Lots of drink to go around though. the jet ski's and parasailing was at additional cost for only 10mins ride . For the £45 euros I think we would have preferred the other option the AfriKat. This was a similar Catamaran cruse that limited its passengers to 35 people. when we were in Portugal we paid a fraction of the price for a similar excursion that had a barbecue on a secluded beach. yet this seems to be the going rate for Gran Canaria. So overall a good day out just Spoiled by over crowding and food option. Also the non delivery of the Cave trip on a smaller boat.

Friendly crew, saw dolphins! Good food, as much beer as you can drink. Paragliding, jet skiing reasonably priced, banana boat free.

First off, if you get the chance, go on this trip.

We paid 150 euros for 2 which included jet skiing, para sailing, banana boating, swimming by some caves, dolphin spotting and all food and drinks while on board. It was an absolute steal considering we'd paid 70 euros EACH in the south of France last year just to do some Jet Skiing.

It departs from Puerto Rico Marina, where there's a strip of boats and signs from other companies doing similar things such as whale and dolphin searching, fishing, etc. Just look for the Sagittarius Catamaran sign.

We were on-board and heading out at about 10:30, and you could help yourselves to drinks immediately Although we didn't really have much on the trip there was sangria, wine, water, and all kinds of soft drinks. They kept them in big cooler boxes that were dotted around the boat. People-wise It was quite full but we managed to get one of the beds on there which I'd highly recommend, as others who were forced to sit on the sides due to lack of seats looked a little worse for wear as the day went on.

The staff made an announcement at the beginning, it was a really nice gent (who i can't remember the name of, sorry!) who really made the trip what it was. He was funny and always had a smile on his face, and the way he spoke almost every language under the sun as fluently as his own was incredible. He explained the plan for the day and the do's and dont's (which there weren't very many of other than common sense), and regularly announced things of interest over the tannoy.

We were lucky enough to see loads of dolphins when we went, which is something they obviously can't always guarantee. So if you've got a good DSLR, take it. I managed to snap loads of quality photos of them. They really played up for the camera.

Next was Jet Skiing, where they took groups of us out off the main boat onto a smaller one and allowing us to get on the jet ski's very easily. I've only done Jet Skiing twice so as for whether they were actually good or not is beyond me. All i know is I got mine up to 35 mph on choppy water and the Mrs (and myself in all honesty) was a little apprehensive about going any faster, which the Jet Ski was blatantly very capable of doing. We opted to pay 10 euros to get some photos of us whilst on it which the smaller boat driver took with a decent DSLR with a zoom lens.

Once we'd all had a go, we headed back to the boat and had some lunch, which was pasta in a tomato based sauce and salad. It was really nice and welcomed as a nice summer meal.

After this we went to the caves where you could get out and swim in the brilliantly clear waters around there, where there were loads of fish beneath. It felt great to get in the cool water after being on the boat with the sun glaring down. Also at this point was the Banana Boating, which held about 9 or 10 people and was dragged by a jet ski.

It was also here where we did parasailng, which was an incredible experience. You can go on as a single, pair or threes. We went on together as two. Be warned though, you go REALLY high, so if you're massive afraid of heights i wouldn't do this. We loved it though.

After this we headed back to the marina, at which point it was about 3pm.

So all in all i'd definitely recommend this, just make sure you get on the boat asap and get a bed to lie on!
