We returned home yesterday after a fab week at the Revoli Playa, these are much better since having the refurb done, and the air-con is a godsend, we did have a couple of small niggles but wouldnt put me off going again to this hotel.

Check in: This was done pretty quick as we had already requested our room before we arrived so we in our room within 5 minutes.

Room: We had room 425 which is on the 4th floor and we had great views of the pool and the sea.
The room is nicer in decor and there was plenty of room for the both of us, we even had cushions in the bedroom as well as the pillows, there is also a safety deposit box in the wardrobe which is better than last time as they were in reception and looking very tired.
We also had free Air-con but this is only in the living room so my advice is if you leave the bedroom door open the cool air will flow through as this is what we did.

Cleaning: Well the cleaner came in once while we were there but this is probably because we left the dont disturb sign on the door while we went out sometimes as there was rumours going around that one of the maids had stolen someones t-shirt and vest and some money, it was just caution as it was only 1 person reported this but we didnt want to take the chance.

Hotel Bar:

They do a happy hour 3 times a day now which is buy one get one free, this is on long drinks, pop, milkshakes and there lager, we did get the lager which is 2.85 euros for 2 on happy hour, also had there bacardi and coke which was 4.95 euros for 2 on happy hour, we always got served without delay as there was 3 staff on the bar.

The couple of niggles we had were the tv in the room which kept going off and we had to either go to reception or phone down to them but this was sorted out pretty quick, I know people say you dont go on holiday to watch tv but hubby liked to watch it while I was getting ready lol.
The other niggle was the courtesy room on our last day they didnt let you know that you needed your own towel which isnt a big deal but when you want a shower before your picked up for your flight home you dont have time to dry your towel, the room was also very dirty and this should of been checked everytime it got used as there was water all over the floors and dirty towels which must of been to get your hands dryed on as they were tiny.

We only ate in the hotel a couple of times as we prefer to eat out and try different places and the food is nice and not overpriced, fries were 2.10 euros pizzas starting from 5.00 euros and there was others ranging from 5-11 euros this was for large meals.

Taxis are still pretty cheap down to the commercial centre we never paid more than 2.25 euros which is the standard fare when you get in but it only goes up if you go further afield, sundays is slighlty more expensive, just be carfeul with certain taxi drivers as we were ripped off going up to the europa centre for the first time while we were there as it said 3.70 when we got out and when I was going down the stairs he shouted to me to pay more so I went back over to the taxi and he said its 4.70 so we just paid it couldnt be bothered to argue about it, but after that we never paid more than 3.40 to get to the Europa centre so just be careful.

We loved Puerto Rico beach as you can walk pretty far out before it gets deep and the water isn't to cold, we got sunloungers up on the top where it cost 10 euros for the 2 loungers and parasol which isnt too bad, we spent most of the day there and it was nice to cool off now in the sea now and again, we went back saturday before the extreme heatwave hit and it was packed as it must of been spanish holiday as they were mostly spanish, it was nice to see all the familys having fun.

The commercial center is the same with a few new places we seen and we were not hassled once of the PR's trying to get you in there place for a bite to eat which was nice, we still like San Miguels but they do need to change there english sausage as it is definately not like it used to be in there the sausage was vile which is a shame because they do a lovely breakfast but that spoilt it, we were going to try Harry's room for our sunday dinner but we spoke to him and he said its closed for 2 weeks for a refit so we had ours in San Miguels and it was better than ever and we got more meat lol.
Harrys takeaway let us down big time when we went and Its a shame Harry wasnt there when we ordered because we would definately have not been given the crap we were given , I ordered a chicken wrap with chips, and the chicken must of been off the night before as it was very hard and couldnt be eaten, I wasnt going to waste my holiday going back down there to take it back so binned it but I will be letting him know through facebook about this.

We tried a lovely little cafe called Florida park for our breakfast a few times which is hidden away at the first part of the centre upstairs beside subway, proper walls sausages lol and lovely bacon, fried bread etc and it was lovely and cool to eat in there which was great, this cost 4.50 euros which included tea, coffee or fresh orange juice.

We tried a few different bars down the bottom which I cant remember most of the names as we were quite drunk when we entered but all were good but pricey for my bottles of wkd lol, we met a few nice people in the bars which is better than having miserable people serving you which we found in a couple of bars, yes fair enough the island is suffering but the last thing tourists want to see is a sad face behind the bar as it is our holidays.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday to the Revoli and around Puerto Rico, we had brilliant weather which most days were in the 30's but saturday and sunday 12th and 13th may we had really hot weather it got up to 47c which was far too hot to sit in so we chilled in the bars until it cooled off, it was like walking into an oven it was that hot, this does take its toll on you and 1 lady died while we were there which is a damn shame. So be careful if there is a calima which is the second time we have been there while there has been one.

The only advice I could give the Revoli was while they were doing the refurb they should of changed the sun loungers to ones where you can sit up or lie down not fixed ones where you have to lie down but this didnt put us off as we hate to lie in the sun for too long, would I go back to the Revoli...Yes we would as it is really nice and the satff are friendly especially Paco at Reception he will go out his way to help you.
Anyone heading there hope you enjoy it as much as we did :)

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for the best views...Floors 4,5 and 6 has the best views

Stayed here with Thomson (rep Hayley was great!) Apartments are modern and huge! You have two sets of French doors leading one from lounge and other from bedroom onto balcony! A tip is to book a HIGH (floor 5-7) up room with a POOL view as these have best sea view. As our sea view room had limited view! Supermarket close by (there's also one on site) Staff were efficient and helpful at reception. Air conditioning included in lounge but on high it kept all apartment cool. Local bars down hill. Some great non "egg and chips" restaurants if you use Trip Advisor recommendations; Rhodos Palace, Minimas, El Cenedor and at Puerto Mogan (bus ride away) La Bruschetta great for pasta or fish by the sea for lunch! We also went on 4x4 safari in land by Zig Zag tours that was lovely with lakes, mountains and pine forest views! Biggest apartment I've been in at a value price!

All staff were very friendly, food was very good. Entertainment lacked a little at first, but got better when more guests arrived. Bar staff were brilliant, very friendly, happy and joined in with games/bingo. Rooms were spacious and clean, pool area well kept and clean. Local to many bars, restaurants and beach. Had a fantastic holiday, will definately return. Special thanks to Hayley, Johnathon, Leo and Sergio. Xxxx

We stayed at the Revoli the week leading up to Easter and I would agree with a lot of the previous posts; the hotel is full of Scandinavians and bar staff not v friendly, but as a self-catering base it was in a perfect spot.

The rooms are really large and recently refurbished. Beds are very comfortable and the blackout curtains mean the early morning sun doesn't disturb you, even though you are facing the main road it is lovely and quiet at night. The kitchen area is well equipped with kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and large fridge, although to be honest we only made breakfast as there are so many good places to eat out.

It's a five minute walk down steps to the bars and restaurants near the beach; we went to Aquaviva and La Cantina for yummy meals, and to Hawaii bar for fab sangria and to watch football. 5 minutes walk down the hill in the other direction from the hotel was the main shopping centre with lots of different bars and restaurants, we tried San Miguel and Balcon Canario and they were really good too. The people trying to get you into the restaurants do get on your nerves after a while, especially after you've just eaten, so for that reason we preferred the places near the beach.

We went with Thomson and their rep Clare was brilliant, really friendly and helpful. We went on trips round the island in a minivan, which was really interesting but very windy roads, and to the drag show at the Music Hall Tavern and the evening show/barbecue at Sioux City. The trips aren't cheap but we enjoyed them all, and the chap who hosts the show and line dancing at Sioux City Rocky is a good laugh.

Puerto Rico is a good resort, large enough to find plenty to do but still small and pretty, we went through Playa Des Ingles a few times and it looked too big and ugly buildings. As Puerto Rico is built on the steep sides of a valley all the hotels are in tiers and all the rooms face the sea. I think the location of the Revoli is just right, you wouldn't want to be any higher up the hills, and I would definitely avoid Puerto Rico if you are in a wheelchair or have any mobility problems.

We walked along the coastal path to Amadores, which has a lovely beach and nice restaurants, we also played crazy golf there which may sound naff but it's beautifully laid out and great fun.

We went on a boat trip to Mogan too, which is a very pretty low rise resort.

In Puerto Rico itself there are dolphin and fishing trips available, parascending and jet skis, and the beach is large, sun beds and parasols are €3 so not bad value.

We went here for 1 week with Star Tour (TUI). We booked a highter standard room, because we wanted better standard and one of the new rooms. Staff was very friendly. I speak spanish so they were more than friendly to me and my boyfriend. We had a very nice and relaxing holiday at Revoli Playa and we will go back again. I really recommend this hotel to everybody, but you should book a better standard room. I don´t have anything to complain.

hi just got back from a week in the revoli playa.had a great time except for the old sundstroke.underestimated the temp.a nice hotel with clean rooms and safes for rental in your room 14 p week 10 euro deposit req.air conditioning was standard
when we arrived the 10th we decided to stay in as my wife or myself had never been to p rico.we ate in the hotel as it was late arrival for us.but found it very pricey 15 euro per adult and 7.50 per child and it was buffet service, but had to say not much choice in foods.
cleaners in cleaned rooms and changed sheets no probs .20 mins walk to and from center so ideal.highly recomend this hotel.
