“tindaya apartments”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Excellent apartments. Well appointed. Large balcony. We stayed in a 3 bed which had 2 bathrooms, one was ensuite. Highly recommended but not if you cannot deal with steps. There is quite a few to the private pool, which is incidentally, clean tidy and always immaculate.
Excellent isolated bar called the crazy horse saloon at Tindaya owned by an english chap, very welcoming. He will call a taxi for you to town any time. There is also a very welcoming mexican below the bar to which they will bring your food into the bar if you wish. 350 odd steps down and back to local supermarket. its not bad but dont recommend if you cant do steps very well. However, great for working off the pizza and beer! Superb support from staff, all speaking english. You can call the office in england before you go for any questions.

Room Tip: ask for an apartment down on bottom if you dont like steps and want to be near the local minimarket...

We stayed in these apartments in mid June and have to say the apartment was great and above expectations. On arrival we had to pick up the keys in the Bahia Blanca which is a few km away so had to get a taxi from there. On arrival at the apartment on looking at the rear of the building I was hesitant on whether the apartment would be any good as the rear of the building looked slightly run down. On entering the apartment which was on the 2nd floor we were surprised on how good the apartment looked.

There was everything you could want in an apartment and even more, this one had a brand new washing machine and also a new power shower in a newly tiled bathroom. It had ceiling fans in all 3 bedrooms and also another plug in fan and also a heater in case you felt the cold, but in 30 to 35 degrees we didn't use the heater inside :) the heater outside was working better :). We were on the second floor and we had a lovely view of the town and also the sea. The Pool area was lovely although certainly not heated as stated, however the sun soon warmed it up. There was plenty of sun beds around the pool and it was quite however as most of the apartments were empty and looked to have been for some time. The apartments also have a electronic safe which was great to have. The apartment also had a 37" TV with most of the English sky channels so this was a great bonus to catch up on a few programs before going out in the evening.

We were met at the pool on the first day by so called "Security" some person who was staying on the first floor, he wanted to know what room number we were in, I don't think he liked other guests staying there and had a bad attitude however that was his problem and we got on with our holiday.

The town of Puerto Rico is only a short walk away down the hill, and bus station is also only a few minutes away, buses are very cheap so this is very handy to do a bit of travelling around. We would recommend a visit to the lovely town of Mogan which is not far away, and also Maspolomas which is very upmarket area but worth a visit. Nights out are lively and very cheap and plenty of bars to choose from that stay open until about 6am, the only bad thing is you pass a 24 hour Mc Donald's on the way back to the apartment, however you takeaway would be well worked off with the walk up the hill :)). We would recommend going to Amadores Beach which has lovely white Caribbean sand so well worth a visit, lovely clean water. We also went on the Bahia Cat cruise which went at 11 am and back at 16.00, this was a lovely cruise with free drink and food included and also music on board, the boat pulled over for nearly 2 hours while people went into the sea swimming, it was a bit long waiting around for those who did not want to swim in the sea, it was meant to be a dolphin watch cruise however the only dolphin I seen was the picture of one on the brochure :(.

There is a great shop up the road from the apartment called the HiperDino which was very handy for a few bits and quite reasonable we found as well. There is plenty of choice around in eating out, down by the Marina is probably the nicest place to go right beside the sea and some nice eating places down there, its about a 15 minute walk to the marina but well worth it.

On the downside the only problems with the apartment we found was dust mites all over the bed sheets, it appeared the apartment was empty for a long time, however with some spring cleaning we got that sorted.

All I can say is enjoy your stay in Puerto Rico, you will not be disappointed. With its friendly atmosphere and hours and hours of sunshine, an apartment with a lovely pool, central to the town and night-life, this apartment has it all, we will be back :)

stayed with 2 other people on Tues June 18th ---- Tues June 25th on arrival after getting our keys in the Bahia hotel which from there you will need to get a taxi to tindaya aprtments not sure does that apply to everyone (: on arrival into room 203 all we could say was wow fans in each room on the roof in dining area the bedrooms had a fan each to on the ceiling...and a microwave a good big fridge and freezer an oven ,,,also it suppied a iron board to ,,,and a massive tv with sky and plenty of channels to choose from home from home you could say ,,,there was 1 fan suppied a plug in 1 that had to be used in the balcony sumtimes seem it was scorching out (;

we had 80 hours around of clear blue sky during our trip and about just 5 hours of cloud in total ..36 degrees was the highest temp

in the apartment complex we had plenty of sunbeds to choose from and a pool with a view ,,,pool area always spotless and pool was perfect and we were lucky that there wasnt many stayin there because we basically had the pool area to ourselfs for the week ,in the apartment they were spotless 2 bathrooms 3 bedrooms 2 were of a nice size ,,and kept coold with the fans in operation alot ,,,,tips ffor self catering people ,walking down into town bus station very near at hand and to the right hand side of the tindaya at the front up the road a little bit there is a hiperdino supermarket and it is reasonable enough although if you walk down the hill into town and in the mall there is a shoppin area and there is a spar shop there and a cheaper bigger hiperdino supermarket to shop in ,,,,
taxis are very cheap to travel in also and buses to ,,,and if you want to sight see hop onto the puerto rico to mogan bus cost bout 1,55 and its a nice drive along the coast till you get there its a must ,maspalomas also worth a visit a nice up and coming area very modern town ,
and the bus to there cost 2.75

so enjoy staying at tindaya central to everything and by the way if you get a chance up in the mall area visit a perfum and aftershave place called JOY ,,,,And grab a bargain ,,,hope you will have as much joy as i did ,a great place for a bargain ,,,

Room Tip: 203 is a brill room in tindaya with great views from bedroom balcony and balcony also

I stayed in a three bedroomed apartment here with my husband and mother, so we had plenty of space. Not only that, we occupied the whole of the top floor of one of the blocks so we had no-one above or to the side of us - the peace was unexpected in such a busy resort as Puerto Rico. We were far enough away from the main nightime activities not to be disturbed by the distant karaoke that could occasionally be heard when standing on the balcony. An additional bonus was that our apartment's entrance was right beside the parking area so we got to our front door via only 11 steps. This was a definite boon for my ageing mother who isn't very mobile. The resort is on a hill and you do need to be fairly fit in case you don't get such a conveniently located unit.

I thught the units were well equipped and I found the bed very comfortable. It would have been nice to have a laundry on site as you have to go to Bahia Blanca resort if you want to wash your clothes etc, although this was a minor quibble. Bahia Blanca is also where you check in and the staff were charming and helpful.

The views were terrific from our unit, looking straight down to the port to our right. A conveniently located supermarket just outside the lower level gate was very useful as well as bigger supermarkets in the shopping centre in Puerto Rico.

We stayed here on a timeshare exchange through RCI so I don't know how typical our unit was. All I can say is that I would definitely stay here again if I knew I could have unit 404.

Room Tip: Check your unit is on the top level

We recently rented an apartment in this complex for a week. On arrival I feared the worst when I saw there was a lot of steps, particularly when I have a young child. However my fears were soon put to bed when I realized there is a top and a bottom entrance meaning our apartment was no more that 20 steps from the entrance. The accommodation was quite spacious and clean and the view was breathtaking, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a friend.

When we arrived we expected to find the key at the neighbouring hotel, but the neighbouring hotel was on the next mountain. Luckily they brought the key for us as we could pay for the room with cash, instead of going to the reception. The apartment was dated but nice and the balcony was huge with a lovely view. The apartment is high on a hill, so we walked down hill to the beach and took a taxi on the way home for €3. The bed was absolutely terrible, and I slept on the sofa which was slightly better. It had nearly everything we needed in the kitchen. There is a laundry at bahia blance which is the 'neighbouring' hotel and was €9 euro for washing and drying. Had to buy soap at the kiosk. Every where on the south of the island is completely touristy, the menus are not in spanish, but the sun did shine. Good value room.
