We stayed in the Bahia Blanca on an RCI exhange.

The hotel its self was very good although we had one of the appartments which had not been renovated and it was very 'tatty',it was clean but very sad looking.
The restaurant was very good and the staff very friendly, also most of the people go year after year so all know each other and it seemed like one big happy family.
The location was good although the walk up from the front was a killer, I wouldn't like to do that when I get older.

Room Tip: Try to get a renovated room

The Bahia Blanca hotel is popular with british tourists and offers a great sea view from all rooms. The staff was very friendly and the room as well as the whole hotel was very clean. The hotel is a bit outside of Puerto Rico

This resort is not suitable for people with walking difficulties as it is built on a hillside, (in fact the whole resort is very hilly). We had apartment 806 which was at the top of the resort and even after the lift we still had a number of steps to climb. The apartment was one of the refurbished ones and was absolutely fantastic. Everything was so up to date and comfortable. We even had a washing machine which meant that we did the washing before coming home! The bed was really comfortable, the shower was wonderful and the kitchen better equipped than any other apartment we have ever stayed in. The view from the balcony overlooked the sea and we spent hours just relaxing watching the boats going back and forth - heaven. We didn't use the pool but had a couple of meals at the pool bar which were very good and not too expensive. We did have a jaccuzi which was lovely - really helped my husbands bad back. The menu for the restaurant looked good but we didn't actually have a meal there. The reception staff were really helpful and friendly. The apartment was cleaned twice with the towels changed three times. We're hoping to go back as soon as we can.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished one if you can.

I travel to Bahia Blanca for a week every year. This year however I came alone (female 48). I had a refurbished apartment that was fabuolous and included Wii Fii , induction hob and cooker, washer/dryer and dish washer in addition to all the basic facilities. Lots of room for 4 people - 1 double bedroom and large sofa bed in lounge. Gorgeous bathroom. No complaints whatsoever. I ate in the restauarant on site 4 nights and the food and service was excellent. In addition there were shows most nights starting at 9pm and they were fabulous- the Mad Hatter, Boy George tribute, Robbie Williams ( James the on site entertainer)- all superb free shows well worth watching. I was well looked after and felt very safe on site. All the staff are wonderful and the pool area is being refurbished in May 2013 so it will be even better next year. Ideal location between Amadores beach and Puerto Rico with lovely promenade to walk along. I can't recommend it highly enough - try it and you wont be disappointed!

These hotel apartments are small but suitably located between two beaches each in 10 min. walking distance to the apartments. Very basic kitchen and small gas (hardly can be used with two pans simultaneously) but clean. The 4 persons apartment consists of ONE bedroom with a double bed and a very small leaving room where the sofa bed is located with the coach for the third and a mobile bed for the forth person. The sofa bed and the mobile bed are not comfortable but manageable. Due to the high temperature inside, I've moved the mobile bed to the balcony and slept out side all 7 nights. Pleasant whether to sleep out side with an amazing view on the resort when you wake up with the noise of singing birds in the morning.
There is a small refrigerator and other facilities (coffee machine and water boiler, etc.).
The small super market next to the reception is handy but expensive compared to other super markets. You can find Lidle and Spare in the city itself and in weekends in Maspalomas 20-30 min. driving from Peurto Rico. There is a mall in 10 min. ride upwards from the hotel with super market and it's also an outgoing center... The center of the city itself is also 10 min. driving by car.

The owner (seemed to be an English man) and the personnel are helpful and friendly.
The swimming pool is small but clean and the bar is average (price/quality).
Each other night there is an entertainment show on the deck and some are amusing as well ( have to order a drink from the bar).

Had a refurbished 1 bedroom apartment, very nice, well equiped, good facilities
Overall couldnt complain about the facility. Tried the restaurant three times on theme nights, prices reasonable, food ok but not outstanding. Infact all the meals I ate in Puerto Rico were just average , the usual european menu you get all over, some better than others but not outstanding.
James the animator worked hard with guests and was handy translating if needed.
Chris sales rep...no hard sell, just hello and here's a voucher for a free bottle sangria.
No complaints at all, however, wouldnt rate puerto rico very high, Mogan was very nice, went on the ferry 10Eu round trip,Masapalomas looked nice going to airport, but all very "man made" resorts, nothing really spanish

Room Tip: INSIST on upgraded room, dont listen to oh your RCI so cant get one, not true, I was RCI and had a n...

It is true that you wouldn't be best advised to stay here if you can't manage stairs, as despite the rather fun funicular railway, there are still a lot of steps to manage. However this is due to the cliffside location which makes it well worth the hike to the apartment as the views are absolutely stunning, directly out over the sea. The pool is small but we did manage to get sun-loungers every day, despite it being busy the last week of August. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, from reception to entertainment to restaurant staff. The restaurant was average, but they did offers every night which were sometimes tempting, and the food was fairly good on the two occasions we ate there. The apartment (non-refurbished) was small and functional, but the balcony overlooking the sea was entirely private and absolutely gorgeous. We had a problem with the ceiling fans not working properly which meant our first night was a sleepless one as it was unbearably hot, but the hotel provided an oscillating fan which improved things. The refurbished apartments have air conditioning, but although we were offered an upgrade, the price made it unattractive as an option. The biggest problem in the apartment was the insatiable army of tiny ants who found their way into absolutely everything, but I guess that can't be helped. All in all, although the resort itself wasn't wildly impressive, it did grow on us quickly, and any shortcomings were more than made up for by the fantastic view, and the excellent location, five minutes walk from both Puerto Rico (along a stunning sea-side walkway) and Amadores beach which was beautiful, with the nearby town of Mogan only a short drive away.

Room Tip: If you can get a refurbished apartment your stay will be much more comfortable, and the lower the ro...
