We ate here on our final night in Panzano. We shared a set menu involving some interesting and unfamiliar cuts of meat with two Canadian families. The whole evening was a great experience. The food & wine just kept coming and although some of the cuts were different to your typical Anglo Saxon menu, everything was prepared and presented well and tasted pretty good too. Leave your inhibitions at the door. In this restaurant they waste nothing. Indulge, go native, eat like a Tuscan. Buon Apppetito.!

Very entertaining dinner, good food: sitting at huge common table and chatting with other tourists from all over the world. It was fantastic! First of all I suggest to read everything about the dinner on the website. Here are 2 fixed price menu at dinner, we chose the 30 euro menu. At arrive the starters you can eat in the butcher shop. It is a perfect begin to start your dinner. The dinner is in the Solociccia, you can book at 7pm or 9pm. The dinner was fantastic, the service is excellent! The dinner ended with grappa and italian cake. Highly recommended place in Tuscany! We suggest to take away the home made salt. We loved the evening and the place too.

We visited on a recoomendation of Dario the butcher. The dinner is essentially a degustation served on a large table with about 14-16 people. This makes it nice as toy may get to know other ones. However the food quality is benign and th eprice sttep for this. Parking is hard

After reading all the reviews we decided to book for dinner, the only options were 7pm and 9pm - it was such a hot day we went for the later option.

We arrived just before 9pm and were shown to our table outside (lovely on such a warm evening), long benches encouraged mingling with our diners. You decide when you arrive if you want the menu with or without steak, we opted for the €50 per person menu with steak (€30 without steak). Our bench was set for 8 and on it stood 4 litres of wine!

The food just kept coming, some of it to our liking, some not, the minced steak with rosemary went down very well with most on the table - a raw meatball with rosemary sticking out of it is not to my personal taste - however others lapped it up. The florentine steak was good, however, too underdone for me....

The people on our table were lovely, however a little reserved and kept themselves to their own group.

You certainly will not leave hungry, the wine flowed as did the food....for us a one off experience that we did enjoy and probably will not repeat.

Dario Cecchini, the master butcher of Tuscany now has two restaurants - SoloCiccia (in english "only flesh) and Antica Macelleria Cecchini ("ancient butcher" Cecchini) across the street. Stop in at the butcher shop first to see the raw goods (also sampling tuscan bread with olive oil, salt and Dario's special lard). in an adjoining room runs an intriguing video of Dario and wife Kim presenting a demonstration of his butchering and preparation techniques.
Before you go, check out their website, There you will find out exactly what the various price fixed menus are so that your expectations are managed. All those items are served family style to tables of anywhere from 8-14 people. The beef dishes range from very good to outstanding - and you certainly get to sample every part of the animal cooked in numerous ways. All served with a soup (broth), tuscan beans, raw vegetables and traditional tuscan bread. THere are two-liter bottles of local chianti at every table, but you are welcomed to bring in your own wine (can be purchased less than on block away) at no corkage fee! The staff is hardworking and aims to please. The real excitement is meeting and reveling with your table guests. The meal often ends with grappa for toasting and pieces of italian cake. This is a place for a joyful experience - so come prepared to socialize and be stuffed with "la carne"!!
Reservations strongly recommended.
