Relais Fattoria Valle in Panzano
Certificate of Excellence

We had 3 wonderful nights here in September. It would have been easy to find if we had got the instructions out before we had driven through Panzano and onto Greve...completly our own fault! We had one of the classic rooms in the top of the house and had a wonderful view across the valley. Fabulous en-suite bathroom which also had a view. We had intentions of going further a field for dinner but having had one meal here, we decided nothing else could be as good. - wonderful dishes with a real local flavour They had a good selection of local wine to choose from at very reaonsalbe prices. We ate more than we should have and was reflected in our dinner bills being almost the same as our accommodation ...don't get me wrong - both were excellent value. The staff were great as well. We would definitely return here but would come for longer next time. It was a great location for exploring Chianti / Tuscany.

Room Tip: A very quiet location in the country and all rooms had a fabulous view!

My husband and I and another couple rented a car in Florence and drove to Fattoria Valle, which was an pleasant drive and easy to find. I fell in love with the place as soon as we pulled in the drive. The views were breathtaking and once inside it only got better. The staff was just lovely and very accommodating. It was like staying at a friend's home in the country. Our room had a beautiful view and was very clean and spacious. There were plenty of public area's to hang out with our friends and other guests. Breakfast was your typical buffet, but they will make you eggs on request which was a minimal charge and worth the change of pace. Dinner was delicious! Everything we ordered was a treat. We actually had dinner out one night and came back to the hotel for their tiramisu, which was the best I've tasted. We were sad to leave. I wish we stayed longer because there was so much to see and our experience was so positive. Thank you Leah and Arabella!

We had two nights at Fattoria Valle this past September and loved the place. Glorious views from all sides of the villa. Adequate rooms and bathrooms. Lovely to have breakfast on the terrace and to sit by the pool overlooking the valley towards Panzano. Really a great location and atmosphere, the villa is great for relaxing.

Be sure to take the Route 222 wherever you can - this road from Florence to Siena offers some of the most breathtaking views we've ever seen anywhere. Chianti is a glorious region of Italy and Fattoria Valle a perfect location to explore from.

The hotel is easy to find and the access easy. The village of Panzano is a short walk away but the walk is a little hairy at night - take a torch!

The hotel is a beautiful stone building, exceptionally well furnished with plenty of public rooms to relax. The pool area has great views across the hills to Panzano. The hotel grounds are well maintained. You can sit on the terrace around the pool or you can seek some shade under one of the adjacent olive trees.

Our room was spacious, clean and well furnished. The window adjacent to the nearby tree had a bug screen so one could have the windows open to let in the breeze but keep out unwanted guests.

Breakfast is plain but perfectly adequate. Dinner is served on the terrace by friendly staff, the food is excellent and the local wines of good quality at a reasonable price.

Perhaps the most surprising thing is the price. We paid 100 a night for room and breakfast for two. They could easily ask more and it would still be worth it.

We moved on to a similar hotel in Umbria near Magiore after staying for three nights. The hotel was more expensive but not as good as this one.

Would be delighted to return one day.

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor facing the front - fabulous view

This is a beautifully maintained and appointed villa on a ridge opposite Panzano town. The interior decorations in the rooms and extensive grounds are all very well done. The views are wonderful. There are a lot of public rooms including two TV/reading rooms, a bar and billiard room. The downstairs cellar opens onto a courtyard/terrace where breakfast and dinner are served. Wide variety of breakfast foods. Dinner is cooked to order, the food was excellent and the meal was a great experience. The hostess is very welcoming and friendly. Panzano is a typical small but working town, short walk up the road and it’s easy to walk in for dinner or to see the town including the famous butcher. Public market on Sunday morning.

Walking distance to the local town, just take a torch if doing it at night or drink 4 bottles of wine as we did. The place itself is nice and practical. A little degradation such as missing pieces in the chess set but it didn't bother us. Perfect base for chianti tasting and Panzano itself is a must see. Local butcher is a legend and greats you wi wine and seasoned lard!!! Highly recommended and the price can't be beat.

We stayed for two nights while exploring Chianti. The hotel is just outside of the tiny town of Panzano and accessible to all of the other "chianti" towns within a short drive. The hotel is basically a large bed and breakfast. Certainly by far the largest room and bathroom during our Italy trip! We found the walls a bit thin as we could hear a crying baby next door a few too many times while on vacation! The view into the valley was obstructed by a grand old tree...so a nice view of a beautiful tree, but a view of the valley would have been preferred. They have a lovely pool that certainly attracted most of the hotel guests. The staff was very pleasant and quite helpful...even offered us complimentary access to their computer for a short bit. In Panzano, it doesn't seem like there are many places to stay, but this one is definitely worthwhile.
