My husband & I have had the pleasure of staying at the Villa four times and are planning our fifth visit. A 300 year old Villa, beautifully maintained, with elegant antique furnishings, excellent cuisine, amenities and attention to your needs is superb by the entire staff. Our friends have stayed and also raved about the experience. Highly recommend a visit and on a scale of 1 - 10 it is a 10.

Le Barone is a must stay. It's one of those places you can imagine coming back to year after year. Each of our stays at Le Barone have been memorable. We've been as a couple and as a family, but I can also imagine future mother-daughter breaks of girl friend week ends. It's a special place you would want to share with special people. A great feeling of both respect and welcoming upon arrival. Gives you time to wind down while the magic of the place winds in. Attention to detail, great service and lovely food. Will definitely come back.

I recently stayed at the Villa le Barone for the first time and had a lovely stay. The food is delicious, the beds are comfortable, the setting is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing. I and another of our party took a cooking class with Fernanda - if you enjoy cooking, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing this. She doesn't speak English and we don't speak Italian but we were more than able to communicate between demonstration, her few words of English and our few words of Italian. We ended up preparing a very large (and delicious!) lunch for our group, while learning several tricks of the trade from a very experienced cook. Fernanda is very jolly and we had a wonderful time! I would also like to give special mention to Barbara the excellent front receptionist/concierge who was at all times very friendly and helpful. We had many requests and questions and she was patient and accommodating with each and every one.

As far as the premises are concerned - we enjoyed the pool area - a nice place to sit out and relax, as was the seating area outside of the main building. We also liked the fact that it was an easy (and picturesque) walk into Panzano from the villa. The rooms were attractive and so were the common areas - we liked the touch of having books all over the place, something we availed of for the duration of our stay. Lastly, I would highlight the varied and tasty meals we enjoyed - we ate extremely well and were introduced to some delicious Italian classics that will be joining the repertoire at home.

It may be worth noting that the entrance to the hotel was a little tricky to find at first but once you're in, there is a parking lot. The only recommendation our party had after our stay would be to suggest the installation of a traffic mirror across from the parking lot exit so you can see if any vehicles are coming along the road. Anyway, such a minor thing, I almost hesitate to mention it here.

We had a delightful stay and the Villa le Barone is a great place for some relaxation outside of the major Italian cities. It is a perfect base for visiting Chianti vineyards and nearby towns, or visiting Dario Cecchini's butcher shop and/or restaurants in Panzano. Recommend.

Dear Whimseas, thank you very much for your review. I enjoyed reading the bit about the cooking lesson with Fernanda. As the owner (and English speaker) I often come and help translate what Fernanda's hand and mimick game does not bring across, but I understand I would have been useless this time! Thank you very much for the very helpful suggestion about the mirror on the parking lot exit ... smart idea! My wife and I look very much forward to hosting you agai at Villa Le Barone.
Sincerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

My wife and I spent our 5-year anniversary vacation here for 3 nights. The drive in was a scenic adventure - so relaxing. The upper room gave us a spectacular view, and was very comfortable. The linens were first-class. It felt like we were sleeping in our own castle. The restaurant was fabulous. Breakfast and dinner were both well done. The service was excellent, for rooms and meals and anything else you need. The Count and Countess were especially helpful in giving us daily excursion ideas and direction. We needed some laundry service, and got it pronto. I left an item, and they promptly shipped it to my next destination. We felt at home. Every room has A/C, so ignore the guidebooks that print such misrepresentations. Our room did not have a tub, but good luck finding one in chianti anyway. We anxiously look forward to our next opportunity to return.

Dear Tom W., many thanks for your kind review on Villa Le Barone and on the helpful tips you give to potential visitors. Yes, it's always good to inquire with Reception (info@villalebarone.com ) if you have any doubts about your reservation so that you avoid any surprise ... except good ones of course! If I may just make a small correction to your review: showers are becoming more and more popular with Guests, but we still have 10 rooms with tub and 5 rooms with shower and tub ... this is why it is helpful to ask Reception if you have a doubt. We look very much forward to seeing you back in Villa Le Barone.

This was our third stay in Villa le Barone and it was again EXCELLENT! Perfect hosts, fantastic team, great food, same high standard as before. We enjoyed an amazing cooking class, with chef Fernanda, what a joy, a real bonus to be able to look into the heart of good Tuscan cooking! And of course..... we wll be back!

The count and countess who own this property have done a wonderful job in remodeling this villa, a jewel of a place to stay, and they were often on hand themselves to offer warm hospitality. Great food in the restaurant, nice pool, beautiful rooms with unbeatable scenery of Chianti vineyards, a 5 minute walk to the ancient and active church of San Leolino, whose bells ring over the countryside. Quiet and lovely!

Room Tip: Ask for a spacious room and bathroom (ours were a bit too small but nice) with a good view!

We love this beautiful rustic Villa situated in the hills of the Chianti wine region.
It's got the comfort of home, with friendly staff, wonderful food and gorgeous views.
As a family we truly enjoy ourselves when we have stayed here. It's a great central
location to get to other places of interest in Tuscany/Florence. Don't miss it!

Room Tip: 2 & 3 if your traveling with a family or 26.
