“Fabulous....we will definitely go back...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2010

Casa Italia is a wonderful location with fabulous views. The accommodation was spotless and quite luxurious compared with a lot of holiday properties we have stayed in over the years. It felt like home as soon as we arrived and everyone we met was so helpful from the first enquiry (many thanks Raffaella) right through to departure when we were suppoed to be out by 9.00am but weren't rushed out until we finally left at around 11.00am.
Well equipped kitchen is a must for us and there was nothing missing...lots of pots, pans, crockery etc and a lovely bottle of wine from the estate on arrival.
The views were stunning from every window - I could have spent the entire week just gazing out the window....could have done without the 7.00am wake up call from the church bells but they added to the atmosphere.
We have visited this general area before so we didn't need to do the touristy thing..spent a lot of time at the pool which was clean and well furnished with comfy loungers. Idyllic spot for reading and snoozing....
The only down side was no washing machine...travelling with Ryan Air from Dublin means the luggage allocation is minimal so it would have been nice to have had access to a washing machine and washing line - managed with a bit of handwashing but it would really enhance the facilities to be able to do some laundry mid week if only to freshen up the pool towels. Laundrette in Lamporecchio was great but I don't want to spend a morning doing something that should take two mins on site!!
Lots of mozzie bites so take a plug in zapper - we used bug spray but got fairly well chewed as it was so so hot that we tried to leave windows and shutters open to catch any tiny bit of breeze.
Overall a really great holiday location and one we would definitely go back to - having spent the last ten holidays in this area this was definitely one of the best.

Yes indeed a magical place, lovely views etc.
However travelling with 2 young children (baby and 2 year old) means you need some basic requirements like babycots. We did reserve two cots on forehand but only got one on arrival. Had 3 very bad nights because of young child in an adult bed and a dangerous staircase.
Also dishwasher wasn't functioning. A leakage caused a problem with electricity so also the fridge quit working and we had to throw our food away. We asked for a refund but didn´t get one. In stead were offered a smaller appartment.
We made several complaints but with no quick response of the owner (is not living on the site). After night 3 we found the babycot on the terrace in the morning...

Still waiting for the return of the caution money (requested for it immediately after we returned home which is now 5 weeks ago)
Overall, unreliable and slow action when things go wrong. If your appartment is okay and you have no other wishes, it´s a good place to stay.

We are very sorry that the holiday was not satisfactory, but we would like to tell you our version of the story.
It is true that the dishwasher broke down, in fact a pipe became disconnected causing a leak which affected the electrical system. Fortunately the system had adequate safety precautions and so there was no danger, but unfortunately the electricity supply to the apartment was cut off for a short period of time. These are unforeseeable occurrences that can happen now and again. However repairs were made within a few hours. Despite this we gave our clients another apartment which was the same size but without stairs, as they had requested. They did not ask for a refund for the food (which however could not possibly have gone off in just those few hours), but for the entire holiday, and we had every right to refuse.
It is true that the weather was terrible, especially for a holiday with small children. In fact during that period it rained a lot and was very cold, but unfortunately the weather is something beyond our control. We would have given a refund of the deposit they had made without deducting the cost of cleaning two apartments if the clients had not left suddenly without any warning.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Yours faithfully,

We've returned from a lovely stay in Farmhouse Casa Italia...and we really enjoyed everything there!
We had an amazing panoramic view from our apartment and had everything we could possibly want for our stay. The apartment was clean/tidy and decorated with style.
The owners were friendly and they always helped us. We would recommend this place to all of you.

My wife and I have stayed at Casa Italia in Lamporecchio six times since 1998. We love this place because of the beauty and ambiance. Not too many Americans go there and it is hard to find on the first try. However everyone is friendly and will do their best to make your stay perfect. One of the things we like best is the location. It is high enough on the mountain to allow a beautiful view. It is also fairly close to
Empoli and the train station. Trains in Italy are on time and comfortable. Each unit has a kitchen and bath. There are many different layouts. This residence also has an olive grove and wine arbors. You can taste the wine and olive oil. If you arrive at harvesting time, you can help and it will make your stay so much better.
Right next door is Leah's Restaurant. The food is magnificient and priced within budget. The house wine is great.

We can't wait to go back.....Fly Delta to Pisa now and rent a car. Pisa is only about half an hour away. Day trips from Casa Italia can easily be made to Lucca, Pisa, Sienna, Florence, Pistoria and most of Tuscany.
