When I searched on Trip Advisor for a hotel in Polignano, I did not see any reviews that made note of the fact that this facility is, apparently, the favorite location for wedding parties. We were here for two days and there was a wedding each day that went from mid afternoon until late into the night. The hotel is attractive and the grounds are well manicured. Our room was large, reasonably comfortable and provided a good view toward the sea. The Staff were all very nice, though the breakfast service was inefficient. The room cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Maybe, if you were attending the wedding and staying over, it would be a great choice. But, if not, the throbbing music, the noise below your room and the shared parlor area being used as a playroom for children might not appeal to you. One last note is that the hotel is described as being located within easy walking distance to the city center. It is not! It is just under 2 miles each way and there are no walkways. You must walk along the edge of a busy street with cars passing in each direction at excessive speeds. Taxi service can be arranged but clarify what you wish when you ask at the Front Desk. The first evening we asked for a taxi we were picked up in a Mercedes sedan. On the second night, we were dressed up for dinner and expected the same. But, we were picked up in an open 3-wheeled vehicle, not much better than a scooter. It was half the price but my wife’s hair was destroyed!

Wedding parties almost every day. Had to leave this beautiful site after 1 night due to music and table tear down activities until past 1 AM. This is not a place for a relaxing visit.
I know about the hotel's disclaimer regarding noise, but our room was literally next to the patio where the reception was held. If you are not attending a wedding and planning to stay at the hotel after partying into the wee hours, go elsewhere.

Found this hotel by default at the last minute.
Pre booked accommodation nearby was totally unsuitable and after having to pay for one night as a cancellation charge we were delighted to find SanTomasso.
A lovely warm welcome into this privately owned very large hotel. But with only 8 rooms. It is essentially a wedding venue capable of hosting 2 large wedding receptions simultaneously. We were advised that the festivities would be completely finished by 11pm so there would be no sound from music etc after this time. This proved to be 100% true. We would not think this a suitable hotel for young families especially with babies.
Breakfast was of continental type with very smart and caring waiters. Nothing too much trouble.
Our room - a junior suite - was extremely well appointed with a large bathroom including a jacuzzi bath and wonderful views through the window over the Adriatic. The bedroom itself had a very large double bed with a large TV and 2 windows, one being also a door leading on to an enormous private patio with extensive views. Plenty of storage space in a large wardrobe.
Very interesting building with lots of features.
Didn't miss a swimming pool as so much to see and do in the area. The sea is a 5 minute drive - in the centre of Polignano al mare. Very crowded but charming little pebbly 'beach' but wonderful to soak in the Adriatic.
No restaurant in the hotel but lots of eateries in Polignano including the very good restaurant - Spechia Sant'oronzo also owned by the hotel. Great to park there too.
Fabulous stay. Sorry to leave

Room tip: Junior suite. Expect to pay half what you would normally pay for this standard!

We recently spent two nights at San Tommaso and had an enjoyable stay. I would say that the property is a wedding venue first and foremost with hotel rooms in the historic residence above. If you are visiting on a weekend or during the summer, there will likely be one or more weddings going on. As long as you aren't planning on going to bed early, this isn't really much of an issue.

The property is beautiful with a large old historic residence surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is a short drive to the center of Polignano a Mare. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was typical of the area with meats, cheeses, pastries and cakes. They make an excellent cappuccino. The breakfast room itself is a bit small and dark, but if it is nice enough, you can eat out in the old courtyard, which is wonderful.

Two negatives: We were kept up a bit late by a loud wedding the first night (to be fair, we were warned about this in advance). The wedding the second night was quieter and ended earlier. Also the property does not have a pool, which would have been nice to retreat to after a day walking the city.

Overall it is a beautiful historic property and priced fairly.

Lovely, large room, large bathroom, polite staff. Let us check in early. Lovely lounge outside our room.
BUT the noise from the wedding reception! We spent on a room with a balcony but the noise was too loud for us to sit on it. No siesta!
I really don’t think they should book hotel guests in when there is a wedding on.
Disliked the pop music playing throughout the immaculate gardens.
Stay here if you have a car and have ch3cked if 5here is a wedding.

Room tip: Not above a wedding reception
