“The most beautiful place I've ever been”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

I've been in Casa Dorsi three times in the last 3 years, and I love it so much! Polignano a Mare is a beautiful place, and to stay in Casa Dorsi's Suite Aqua with the view to the sea when you wake up in the morning or just sitting on the private balcony on the roof is wonderful.
Clean, air conditioned place in the historic center of town, only 5 minutes walk to the sea.
Carlo, the owner of Casa Dorsi, is a really wonderful host!
So, an excellent place with a really warm hospitality.
If you have been there once, you will love this place all in your rest of life :o) Thank you!

My wife and i stayed at Casa Dorsi for 9 days in July. We reviewed this property well in advance before chosing and it was absolutely perfect in every way. We normally stay in 5 star hotels but wanted a change for this trip as we wanted to taste real Italy. First of all the town of Polignano a Mare is a wonderful old medieval town full of real Puglia character with the old town located inside a a walled area which goes back hundreds of years. It was very busy as we had chosen the week when a cultural festival was taking place but it didnt detract from our enjoyment. We stayed in one of the appartments which is on three floors with a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the Adriatic sea, it was aperfect place to chill out with a glass of wine after a day on the beach or sightseing.

Finally i must mention Carlo the wonderfull owner of the Casa Dorsi. He made our stay so perfect in every way. Not only did he make the effort to meet us at the entrance to the old town at almost midnight and help us with our luggage, but he was always on hand to advise us on trips/beaches/restaurants etc. Thankyou Carlo we will be back !!

My partner and I stayed in 'Gabbiano' on the third floor this June (2012). It was super clean and well appointed with our own bathroom, TV, air con and a mini fridge (+ secure parking down the street). The B&B is in the historic centre of town (note that you can't drive right in) near to everything you need (easy walk to free beaches, restaurants etc). We found Polignano to be a lovely, charming, friendly and relaxing place and were so happy that we found accommodation which enriched the experience. Carlo was a wonderful host and we hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: This B&B is is the historic centre so you can't drive right up to it and there are no lifts...

The B&B is in the old town with only a small sign. It is well worth studing the map before you leave to locate it. When I arrived part of the town was closed by a film crew - which added to the fun - but a good sat nav works wonders.
The owner sent me a text message in the morning to check when I was due to arrive as the reception for the three rooms is not manned continuously.
I had a room on the first floor, with a small separate living area and basic kitchen. There was a roof terrace available for use by the guests.
In the morning the owner put out tables in the street for a delightful alfresco breakfast.
I was travelling by bike and my bike was stored in a locked storage room on the other side of the street.

We can't say enough about this charming B&B in one of the most lovely little towns I have ever visted - Polignano a Mare. We stayed in one of the 3-story apartments with sea view terace - its even better than what you see in the pictures and an amazing value for the money. If driving, don't be dissuaded by the need to park a little ways away - Carlo, the wonderful owner, makes it so easy. He met us right at the gates of the old town (very near the B&B), so we did not have far at all to take the luggage, and he parked the car for us. Parking was free (!) and in a secure locked lot, and not hard to get to at all once we wanted to use the car again (though we ended up not touring around as much as we'd planned because the apartment, and Polignano, were so delightful we could hardly tear ourselves away!). It was not difficult to drive to at all - a very nice, straight, seaside road with little traffic hassles and easily marked exits etc. Carlo was a dear, gave great tips, and serves a lovely breakfast. He is a cooking instructor and offers a cooking class at the B&B if you sign up in advance and have a group of at least four - looks like a great experience, you might want to try that (we will next time for sure!).

We stayed in May and the weather was mostly gorgeous and although quite a few visitors were there on the weekend, it was not terribly crowded (and most of them were italians on weekend get-aways versus USA tourists- which was exaclly what we were looking for, versus a more typical tourist experience.) If you have ever visited, and loved (as I do), the Cinque Terre area, you would love this town too - kind of like CT was before it got taken over by tourists. And the entire Puglia region is well worth exploring - Matera is fascinating too. We will be back!

Thank you again Carlo, for the wonderful stay and all your help! Sue & Garth

Great place, completely new, terrace offers sea view, good breakfast, very friendly manager.

The price 40€ for single use was a very good deal. I strongly recommend to stay in the historic part which is completely different to the rest of the town.

There is no elevator which should be considered by disabled people but is of no disadvantage for everyone else (only 2 floors).

A great place to stay!
