“not bad but pricey”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

We eat here the first night we arrived in Portmagee. We took a pasta with vegetables (a little too greasy for our taste) and chicken with mushrooms (really good). The main courses are between 15 and 25 euros. Pricey at least. If you go the next door, in the pub, you can eat food from the same kitchen at a very reasonable price!

“little gem”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

on our annual motorbike trip to Valentia Island which we have been doing for the past seven years by chance this year we stopped in Port Magee and were lucky enough to visit "The Moorings "restaurant, this little gem is situated opposite the harbour which guarantees fresh fish arrives at your table every day, the menu was varied and catered for vegetarian as well as the fish and meat lovers, service was excellent and staff were friendly add to that excellent food and the day was made, a gentleman whom im guessing is the owner made my wife and i feel welcome even though we were dressed in our (best) leathers. when we return to Valentia Island next year we will definitely visit the Moorings also and would highly recommend it.

“The Moorings, Port Magee”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

I enjoyed returning to Port Magee and The Moorings. I did find it was not as good as the last time. The quality of oysters had deteriorated but overall it was satisfactory

“Great seafood!!!”
Reviewed September 18, 2012 via mobile

This was a great experience some of the freshest seafood I have eaten. Cute town of Portmagee, Ireland the fishing boats are directly across the street from the restaurant and the seafood is fresh daily.

“Excellent food and service”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

This is part of a family-run guesthouse. Breakfasts in the morning are very complete and very good - nice selection on the buffet. Dinners are excellent. We had seafood both nights we were there and really enjoyed it - very fresh!
