The water is in some places 10 meters deep, but so clear that you can see the fish near you. The water is very blue, sometimes looks like is light beneath. The smaller boats will get you near the caves.

We went the whole way to the end of the island as recommended by our quad rental guy Steve.
Skinari at the light house. There the groups are small as are the boats which go into all the caves, guides nice too. Then from there in a much more powerful boat to the Shipwreck ...all for only 15€ ... Totally recommend it

The Blue Caves are very pretty and it is lovely to swim in them but we wish we had taken the kayak tour to see them as we could have gone inside rather than be on a boat that pokes its nose in. Saying that, we were lucky as we visited early morning and our boat was considerably smaller than others. Pay the extra .....it's worth it.

We just viewed the caves from the main road as we hired a car and stopepd at the main points of the island! Thought is was kinda pointless unless you like swimming to waste the money on paying for a boat! As you can see they are lovely to look at from the road!

we had a car so we drove to st nicholas port & got a boat trip from there to shipwreck bay & the blue caves. fab trip & the boat was small enough to get inside the caves unlike the huge ones which can only stop nearby.
would highly recommend taking a trip from the port if you have a hire car as the trips in resorts are substantially more expensive.
also, always try to get a smaller boat as you will see more & the larger boats do so much untold damage.
we got to swim in the caves & see the wonderful colours & scenery.
highly recommended
