Location is the best, could not ask for better. The house comes with a large terrace with amazing views of the Caldera, made for relaxing morning coffee and late night chilled glasses of wine all the while enjoying the amazing views of the Caldera. The path from Fira to Oia is right in front of the house.
The house is very large, freshly renovated, with new furniture, TV set, satellite tv-box, bluetooth sound box, comfortable beds with nice mattresses and pillows. It also has all the modern facilities, including very nice cold blowing AC's in every room, refrigerator, coffee makers, electric oven and all the kitchen utensils you will ever need. The house comes with daily housekeeping also, which is a very nice perk.
We rented a car for the time we were there and it really paid off as we got to explore most of the island at our own leisure. There is close by parking, a couple of flights of stairs above the house, and it although seemed very busy and crowded the first day we arrived, we have had no problem finding a parking spot every time we arrived from our trips around the island, in the middle of the day or very late at night.
A store is available in front of the parking lot as well, with everything that you might need ready available during your stay. There are a few excellent restaurants right down the path or within 20-30 minutes walk on the path towards Firostefani and Fira. Eirini, our host, made a few recommendations for excellent fish restaurants, if you have a car, well worth trying them, the fresh fish and seafood was out of this world at the ones that were recommended and we tried.
Last, but not least, Eirini, who was our host, was the kindest person we have met recently. She will be available for any advice or help you might need during our stay, she is just an email away, answering within minutes, and she lives only a couple of steps away from the house as well. Thanks for your hospitality Eirini, we will definitely be back.
Wow. Words can’t describe Ikia Kriton! 12/10 for the host, the property, the location, the facilities. Kriton has everything and Ilina was so unbelievably helpful with local information. We were greeted by a gorgeous welcome baskets of homemade goodies. The apartment is so spacious, clean and beautiful with the most outstanding view over the volcano and sea. We had absolutely everything we needed. There is a swimming pool a very short walk around the corner (free to use as long as you buy a drink or something). Close to the main road with supermarket and bus stop to visit other villages in Santorini. Can’t recommend Ikia Kriton enough for your stay in Santorini.
This is a perfectly located appartment on the coastal path, so the views are stunning. The accommodation is large, stylish and spotlessly clean. The host is friendly and welcoming and we were provided with lots of local knowledge that made our stay so special. We had use of a fabulous sun terrace with views that we will never forget. There is a shaded outside area for eating in and just watching the many tourists go by. We found this a most enjoyable pastime, and we chatted to people from the world over. A swimming pool is also available close by, local shops provide fresh everything and there are lots of high quality restaurants about. Santorini is a beautiful island, nowhere is too far away, (excellent public bus services)and our stay at Ikia Kriton was the best! I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation. The only negative about Santorini is that you will need strong legs as the volcanic slopes are steep and there are lots of steps to get to most places. But it is a price worth paying for magnificent views that the Caldera offers. Ikia Kriton in the north of the island is in the best part of the island for beauty and location, you will love it here.
My wife and I stayed at the Ikia Kriton apartment for 3 nights. Eirini arranged pickup for us at the airport for 20 EUR and met us as our van arrived to help us make our way down to the apartment. The moment we walked over the caldera rim we wished we’d booked a longer stay. The views from this part of Imerovigli are absolutely stunning!
The apartment was a short 5 min walk down from the street. With two flights of steps involved.
Upon arrival at the property we were greeted with a gift basket including a very nice bottle of Santorini white wine. Eirini did a great job of giving us an overview of the property and things to do in the region. There are some great books on Santorini and a useful hiking map.
Location: There are several restaurants and grocery stores within a 5 to 10 min walk. The trail to Skaros Rock starts about 100m away and makes a great short hike (30-45 min). We hiked in to Fira a couple of times and that took about 30 min and wasn’t too bad. The hike back is a bit more difficult due to the elevation difference but still manageable. However there is a bus from Fira to Oia that runs every 30 min which stops in Imerovigli that is a quick and cheap alternative.
Amenities: The bathroom is very clean and spacious. The apartment had a very efficient and quiet air conditioning unit. The bed was super comfortable! There’s also a kitchenette with mini-fridge. We made eggs every morning for breakfast. We asked about laundry service and Eirini was able to arrange that for us. Much appreciated!
Overall we highly recommend this place! Made for an unforgettable stay in one of the most beautiful settings in the world!
My hub and I stayed for 4 nights. There was a basket of complimentary basket of goodies like home baked cookies (loved every bite), wine and fruits. The view is 200% perfect. The hostess Irina is always there for our needs. It felt like home and I hope to be back again one day.
To put things in context, we have rented approximately 30 different villas/houses/condos through our travels over the years and this place is one of the best, if not the best place we've stayed at. It's absolutely fantastic. Eirini was there to meet us upon arrival for our three nights stay. She had previously arranged our transfer from the port. She gave us a very comprehensive tour of the apartment, answered all our questions and shared her recommendations of things to do in Santorini and places to eat as well. She had also prepared a welcome basket of home baked goodies, fresh fruits and wine for us.
The apartment is quite large, well laid out, tastefully decorated, and has all the amenities you will need. The layout is also perfect for a family of four or for two couples. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are quite large, especially the ones at the back of the apartment (the ones in the cave as our kids would say). It was also sparkling clean and we had maid service every day we were there. The view of the caldera is amazing and we enjoyed having breakfast on the large terrace. Even if the path leading to Fira and Oia is just a few steps from the property, the apartment is in a very quiet location. Depending on how fast you walk, you can reach Fira in about 20 minutes and there are some excellent restaurants less than 10 minutes away. You can also use a pool at a nearby property as long as you buy some drinks or food there.
On our second day, the air conditioner would not turn on. We sent an email to Eirini and she showed up with her husband soon after and the problem was resolved in a matter of minutes. Eirini also arranged our transfer to the airport upon our departure and she even hired a porter to carry our luggage.
Anyhow, let's stop here to keep this review from being too long. We absolutely recommend Ikia Kriton. It's a wonderful apartment with great owners and in an excellent location. Can't really see how you can get a better price & quality ratio. We would come back in a heartbeat. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!
My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights... we wish it was a much longer stay. The accomodation is nothing short of spectacular.
Eirini was very helpful with organising a transfer and showing us to our room even late in the evening. We were treated to a welcome bowl of fresh fruit and wine, a cool room and an amazing view.
The room itself had a kitchenette, large bed, stunning traditional bathroom, a gorgeous sitting area, small balcony and there's also access to a larger balcony just a few steps away.
There's access to a pool a short walk away as long as you buy drinks at the bar so there's no need to worry about where to swim.
This is my 4th stay in Santorini & the room is larger than most traditional cave houses and is very reasonably priced.
An amazing view of the sunset is just a few metres away.
Could not be happier - we will be back.
