This was my 5th time in Santorini, but definitely the best one because of this beautiful, charming, relaxing hotel. The view is amazing, that's what Santorini is all about - paradise for body and soul. Some days we didn`t want to go anywhere, just stayed by the pool and enjoyed the tranquility.
Staff is great, so nice and kind - they brought us breakfast to our terrace, and café by the pool.
It is a bit isolated, so you need a car if you want to go to beach, or downtown. This place is ideal for couples.
We would surely go back to this place!

This beautiful place was more than I imagined. The people there were so friendly and down to earth. Our room was perfect with a comfortable bed, plenty of room, nice big jacuzzi tub and a wonderful terrace in which we had our own lounge chairs as well as a small cafe table and 2 chairs to sit and sip on the local wine as the sun set. The manager, Panagiota (Pat), was absolutely awesome. She was always there if we needed anything at all. She was so knowledgeable about Santorini and helped us make great choices. We will always go back to this incredible place to stay. It felt like home.

Room Tip: All the rooms are similar. It just depends on how many people are traveling together. It was just...

This is one of those hotels on the island you dream of staying at - with grand views!
The rooms are large in size compared to many other Europe hotels I have stayed at.
The bathroom is 3 times the size of those in other Europe hotels I have stayed at, and with a jetted tub too!
But the price is half of what you would expect!
If you want to be IN one of the cities of Santorini, then this may be too remote for you. We rented a car, so this was not a problem for us at all. It is located adjacent to (West side of) the main road between Fira and Oia.
And if you want to see the sunrise in the morning, unobstructed view, simply cross the street!

Room Tip: We stayed in the room next to the breakfast room/lobby. No noise concerns, and absolutely fabulous!

Nice, wide view over island (famous Cyclades' architecture places - Fira Stefani, Fira on one side, Oia - at an other)- it is just around you every morning etc., romantic sunset so closed to you every evening. In the Caldera - blue gulf of sea just before and under you there are floating the ancient boats or white cruise ships, shining in sun or in romantic lights at evening. You are looking on it from up, from the balcony of all island as Imerovigle and Gizis hotel are located on it.
By car in 10 minutes we were in Fira or on other side - in Oia. By foot - beside hotel and Caldera, just few steps and we enjoyed exclusive Golden Way of Santorini- promenade for slow walking trough famous places of island- Fira Stefani, Fira. It was nice walk just in 2,5 h both ways (from and back to Gizis hotel) trough wonderful area of houses, hotels in Cyclades' architecture style - white, blue colors all around you, sea shining under you- all like in fairy, even bride on one of small streets.
At the same time when you come back to hotel, you can fully enjoy your privacy, take relax in silence, because everyone has separate entrance, exit. It is like cottages, individual for every room. We have two- floors room, at first floor was small bed for rest and kitchen environment with fridge, at second floor sleeping bad and bath, with window view to sunset directly from sleeping bad. Just to stay and stay on such wonderful place for long!
By internet renting car in well known local company Cool cars Rent a car (Santorini) to Kyriakos, I also received serious personal care of Pat (Patricia) hotel's main administrator. She made double checking for all to be good and secure. It was like guaranty for any guest that behind everyone of us always is care of Gizis hotel. The one of best things, what can received everyone, travelling in time limitations, is also local, well- knowing advice on places to see, on taverns or restaurants to eat - such personal guidelines I have received from owner of hotel - Gizis of himself. However, there were many guests to care, many issues to be solved to keep hotel in such a good condition. It was this special personal attitude that allow us to feel really comfortable and take with me and my daughter sense of kindness from, love to great greeks - nation of so strong history and heroes. This attitude, greatness of Gizis hotel personal and local, nowaday people, especially with ancient roots on island Santorini, really differ from ones somewhere else. Kindly and for long with us!

Room Tip: All rooms are with view on sunset, beside Caldera (gulf of sea) and private entranc.

Had a lovely time. Don't think it will be all frills; do think that the place is very clean, friendly and with amazing views. Nothing was too much. Fridge in room with sink and drainer, so you can stock up on wine, beer, soft drnks, snacks, fruit etc and thereby save the sting of a coke in a more elite hotel costing £4! Nice to be able to rinse out smalls and dry them outside room. Only about 12 rooms. Very often had the pool to ourselves. I loved it completely. A boutique hotel, but really you get a very small apartment which suited us to a tee. Would go again. Remember to take a towel for the sunbeds, albeit I understand they would supply you with one upon request.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday at Gizis with 2 girl friends. This hotel has probably one of the best uninterrupted views of the famous sunset over the caldera on the island. If you want peace and quiet, with almost sole use of the pool most days, and want to watch the sunset seated at a table just outside your room while sampling the local wine, feta and salad - this is the place for you! I endorse everything said in the last 2 reviews. The rooms were basic, but perfectly adequate, spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and a strong shower. A good sized fridge to store all that local produce and basic cutlery and crockery. The only things missing were a kettle and cups for tea and coffee. Towels were changed daily and beach towels are available on request. The staff were lovely, especially Pat, and we soon began to feel like friends rather than guests. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Imerovigli along the stunning cliff top path, so it is easy to get provisions, whilst being secluded away from the crowds. For meals out -Tasos, a family run taverna 50 m from the hotel, serves excellent food at reasonable prices. The moussaka is to die for. Also Theo, who lives next door was an excellent tour guide, taking us to fascinating parts of the island that we did not know existed. All in all a wonderful find.

This wasn't my first time to Santorini but I was sure I wanted a view this time. But having a tight budget has its limitations on Santorini. I eventually found this hotel and what a find it is. The views are amazing. This island is one of the top 10 in the world to visit and this hotel has some of the best views on the island. Apparently we are just doors away from hotels with prices more then 5 times that of Gizis.
We were greeted with smiles at the door and the owner went above and beyond to make sure our 1 year old was well provided for ree sleeping arrangements. The rooms were of a decent size and quality for other hotels we have stayed at in Greece. In fact, better then average for similar prices. The breakfast did the job. Although it was probably something I would never order, I must admit I was looking forward to my morning cake and coffee looking at the views.
The location is well placed out of imerovigli so is very quiet. And if you are up for it there is an amazing 2-2 1/2 hr walk to oia with the best views on the island.
No where on the island will you find a hotel with this view for this price. But regardless of that this place was the heart of a fantastic holiday. And I will only ever stay here next time I go to Santorini again.
