We recentely returned from our tour of several Greek Islands and I have to say that our stay at Andromeda Villas was not what I had hoped for. I'll start with the things we liked......of course the veiw was incredible...like no other on earth. Secondly, we stayed there at the end of the season, so it was very quiet and peaceful. Now, for the cons. Our room was very large but did need some touch ups. It had a smell to it that I can only pin on the fact that it's built into a hillside. I loved our terrace. It was great. The hotel restaurant was disgusting. First off, the waiter was very unclean and we witnessed him pick his nose. I was very worried to eat the food and had somewhat of a problem doing so when he served us. The bartender/waitress was not as friendly as I'm use to, and she was also unclean. She was loud, rude and disrespectful. She was also the waitress at the morning breakfasts and I was upset with the way in which she tried her hardest do do as little work as possible. We were disappointed in the breakfast in that there was not very much selection for the price we paid.

We really liked the front desk staff. They were nice but not as helpful as you would think. Overall, I would not stay there again. The nose picking was the deal breaker.

I guess traveling to Greece during the end of the season is not a good bet as it does not bring out the best of the Greek attitude.

This hotel is wonderful! It is built on the cliffs in Imerovigli, just a 5 minute cab ride from Fira on the island of Santorini. Upon arrival, we found the innumerable amount of stairs and stairways a bit daunting. Don't get me wrong, they absolutely add to the charm of the place, but with our luggage, we were worried. The staff is more than willing to help with bags, and there is an elevator, but it only goes part of the way. It doesn't go all the way to the top or bottom. (The lobby is at the bottom, but you enter from the top.)

The views are stunning anywhere on the island, but this hotel does a great job showcasing the views. All rooms have a view, and some with private hot tubs, where we enjoyed the view from our private patio. Much like the Grand Canyon, these are views you see a thousand times in photographs, but until you see it for yourself, it's indescribable.

We didn't try the hotel's restaurant, but did have a lunch and a dinner from the menu in the pool lounge area, and the food was very good. The service was very casual, but also very friendly.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to the island. We were there very early in the season, so it was not very busy. This was nice, but I suspect they had not yet staffed up for the season because when it was (sadly) time to leave, we had to catch a very early ferry and had a hard time finding anyone at the front desk in order to check out (and help with our bags). So, we had to carry our luggage up all those beautiful white-washed stairs... This would be my only complaint, but easily avoided if you make prior arrangements the night before. Plus, I can only guess that it was somehow fitting to make us EARN such paradise!

We were told they were upgrading our room and yet the room was HORRIBLE! The service was horrible and the breakfast was the biggest rip off of all! The hotel needs paint and a lot of maintenance. They should terminate all of the employees and start over. If you want to go to Santorini make certain you stay in Oia.

We have recently returned from a wonderful vacation on Mykonos and Santorini. We stayed at Andromeda for 5 nights at the end of September (perfect time to go). The first thing that must be said in review of this hotel is that the location is stunning. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We liked being in Imerovigli, in between Fira and Oia. Oia is a must see, a memorable 2 hour hike, or a quick 15 minute bus ride, depending on your preference. Our initial impression of our hotel room was a bit disappointing. We had booked a superior room, but the one we were given we found to be dark and we did not have a private balcony. We contemplated checking out early, but the front desk staff offered us an upgrade to a suite, which was brighter and more suited to what we were looking for. Overall, we were quite pleased with the hotel. It is very clean, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was okay, but it could use a bit of variety and perhaps another staff member to handle the crowd. If you wanted to opt out of the breakfast, we found a great little cafe about 10 minutes walk away that fit the bill. We had one dinner in the dining room, it was good, but as other reviewers have noted, there are lots of choices within a short distance. This is a good hotel, a bit of attention to some details would make it a very good hotel. We would stay here again, but we would definitely book a suite.

Booking a hotel in Santorini was a daunting experience overall--even though it was September, we found that many of the places we were interested in were already booked up. We wanted a caldera side hotel with sea views and a pool. To get all of this, you have to up your price point. You pay extra for the location of course.

While the Andromeda was not one of our first choices, it turned out to be a wonderful hotel. We had read the reviews on tripadvisor before we selected, and of course were nervous about any choice we made because there are always some really bad reviews. But we took the plunge. And are we glad we did! The Andromeda was FABULOUS!

We ended up booking a Superior room because the time of year we went made it more affordable than if we had gone in July/Aug. The room was at pool level, right beside the pool bar/cafe and was beautiful....and surprisingly quiet. We thought it might be noisey being beside the bar, but this was not a rowdy hotel. It was totally chilled out and mellow.

Our room had two bedroom areas, a mini kitchenette, sitting area and private veranda. It was very clean and modern. The only down side was that the bathroom was really small---but this is the case with pretty much every hotel room we experienced across Greece. You also must buy bottled water as you cant drink the water on Santorini apparently. But bottled water is suprisingly cheap.

We chose not to partake of the breakfast buffet at our hotel. It was pretty pricey and by the time we got there we were sick of the 'continental' selections offered at Greek hotels. Instead we bought groceries from a nearby market and made our own breakfasts in the kitchenette. The sandwiches and salads and appetizers we ate from the restaurant there were really good and reasonably priced, but we did not like the one dinner we had (swordfish and 'oriental' souvlaki). Its probably advisable to go out for dinner in Fira, or just stick to sides rather than mains. All the portions are good and shareable.

Overall the hotel staff were helpful, but our general experiences in all Greek hotels was that finding a 'nice/friendly' staff person was rare. Maybe its just a cultural thing? Im not sure. There were a few exceptions at this hotel though---I swear, these people were never allowed to go home!

Yes, there are lots of stairs at the hotel, but there are also two elevators. And the stairs are not daunting unless you have trouble walking or are really out of shape. Dont worry about this...its nice to get in a little exercise between all the lounging!

I highly recommend this hotel for couples. Its very serene and romantic and there is a great rim-side walk over to Fira. You can buy your own wine at the market and enjoy it on your private balcony/veranda and take in the amazing view. It was a very nice surprise to arrive and just feel so relaxed after our whirlwind mainland roadtrip.

We were expecting more for the money we paid-
The service personnel, the room cleanliness, room features-all were under the level required for the price paid. I do not recommend anyone going to this hotel. There are many other hotels in the area that are welcoming their guests and have adequate services. Also, it is more convenient to select a hotel in Fira town center.

We were looking for a hotel with a great view and we got it. We didn't have to share our balcony but we were so close to our 2 neighbours that we didn't really have a lot of privacy.

For the price we paid you would expect that breakfast & use of safety deposit box are included, but NO, we had to pay extra for them.
