We spent three nights at the Chromata hotel and loved every moment of it. It is perfectly located, 20 minutes walk from the village, away from the crowds, on a scenic path. The decor is modern Greek, newly refurbished and the view is breathtaking. The staff are simply marvelous - helpful, efficient, friendly and always smiling. We particularly enjoyed speaking with our waitress Smaragda from whom we learned a great deal about Greece. She is a pleasure to be with. The chef, Argyris taught us some great Greek recipes. His cooking is nothing but the best, well worth one Michelin star. He is a rising star - try his squid and octopus for starters, his sea bass or linguine for the main course and his apple pie or panna cotta for desert (the best we've ever had). We also enjoyed talking to Maria at the front desk.
After walking around the island during our three days, we can easily say that the Chromata may be the best hotel on the island.

Just finished a wonderful trip in Santorini as a newlywed at Chromata. Could not ask for better accommodations or service. From our initial arrival when they upgraded our junior suite to one with a private jacuzzi the staff at Chromata made sure they went out of their way so that everything was perfect for me and my husband. Breakfast was delicious, the pool was never too busy that we couldn't find a place to lounge, and the view of the caldera was superb.
What is special about Chromata is the staff. Manager Christina gave us a tour and often checked up on us. The man at the front desk - whom we wrongly called George until our last day (we felt so horrible, but he never corrected us before!) - was amazing. He made dinner reservations at the busiest and best restaurants in Oia making sure we had the best view and table. Transportation was always thought of and arranged. On our last day he made sure to stop by before we left to say goodbye. The personal touches were very nice.

We just arrived home from a 5 night stay at the Chromata in Santorini, Greece. It is still the low season, so we were able to secure a fantastic rate. From the pick up at the airport to the day we left, we had an amazing time.

The hotel is located in the town of Imerovigli. It is about mid-way between Fira and Oia. We loved the location. It was out of the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns, but close enough that you could walk down to Fira for shopping or hop in a car to Oia. There were plenty of small restaurants outside of the hotel, as well as a little supermarket and car/4 wheel rentals for exploring the island.

The hotel is built into the side of the caldera and has breathtaking views of the volcano. The rooms are white caves that are spotlessly clean. I am 7 months pregnant and the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable. We had room 17, next to the pool which was perfect for me because I didn't have to climb the stairs all day. The hotel gives you a cell phone upon check in, so you can call them from anywhere for help, taxis, etc.

The breakfast selection was extensive, delicious and was delivered to our room each morning. It was a treat to chat with Smaragda, the Georges, Micheal and Pannos everyday. The pool area is small, but we never had to fight anyone for a seat. My husband loved the steam room and hot tub. This is not a hotel for children. We met many other nice couples and had fun hanging by the pool bar each night after dinner and chatting with the other guests. It is a warm, laid back atmosphere.

A special thank you to the manager, Christina. She truly went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.

It was the perfect romantic trip before our baby arrives!

One last note, there are a lot of stairs in Santorini and at most resorts. Bring your sneakers.

The view from the front of each of the 22 rooms and the common areas is breathtaking.
The rooms are large and very clean. The bathroom in our superior suite was larger than some of the hotel rooms we stayed in recently.
Room service is available and is used for breakfasts. There is a good choice of items on the breakfast menu. The yogurt and fruit servings are small so order more than just that item
The free wifi is reliable.
The staff are friendly and helpful, e.g. willing to arrange car rentals and make reservations.
The walkway that runs across the top of the hotel takes you to Fira (the "capital").
A great way to experience Santorini.

This was our final destination after a month of island hopping around Greece. We definitely saved the BEST FOR LAST! Santorini is all about picking a hotel where you can literally lay back and enjoy the view! My fiancé and I are both beach lovers but did not miss the sand one bit while stays here. It is a very small but luxurious boutique hotel. All rooms come with an amazing view of the caldera. We made friends with another couple while staying there and they had a superior deluxe suite and the only difference was a bigger closet and bath tub!

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay most enjoyable. Our day consisted of waking up and placing an order for breakfast which was then delivered with white glove service to our patio. We enjoyed our plush robes, Greek coffee and breakfast every morning in a most luxurious way.

We would then make our way to the pool to lounge on the sun bed for two! It is worth is to get there a little early to make sure you have one of the corner beds. The pool attendants waited on your every whim and treated you to a little surprise treat with every drink that was ordered. Whether it was a bowl of nuts, chips or fruit.

We ate lunch by the pool everyday and was never disappointed!!

We would then lounge, nap and swim till it was time to get ready for dinner. The concierge recommended wonderful places and we were never disappointed

Our room was attended to multiple times a day whether it was a change of towels, fresh bowl of water or a quick smooth down of the bed. It was such a pleasure to always come into a pristine room. The bed, air conditioner and bathroom were Excellent!

Not one single disappointment

We stayed at Chromata for 4 nights in May and really enjoyed it. The hotel has nice territory: panoramic swimming pool and jacuzzi, pleasant area for a lunch near the swimming pool as well as a juicy bit - a balcony with an amazing view with just one table for a romantic dinner of two. We has a Juinior Suite and it was spacy with big bathroom (shower, bathtube) as well as a separate room for jacuzzi and wardrobe zone. The room had an ipod station with lots of nice and romantic music! The breakfast is served in the room from 8 till 11 according to your selection from the menu, and is really good! It was amazing to have breakfast on the terrace in front of the magnificent views of the caldera. The staff is welcoming and ready to help. We were even provided with a cell phone to call the hotel in case we needed anything like a taxi o else when out for a walk. The location is good, 10 minutes by walk to Firostefani and then 5 more to Fira. The most amazing views of the caldera are from Imerovigli, while sunset is very beautiful in Oia as well as on the verge of Imerovigli near the Skaros rock. The hotels generally gives very positive high-class impression.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be of the same high quality

After such a lovely stay last April/May we decided to return this year. From the moment we booked with Roula we knew we were in safe hands. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure that our stay was perfect. We were apprehensive about returning when we found that last year's dream team had been moved to their sister hotel Katikies the Hotel in Oia. However on arrival Christina, Vaggellis & Maria in Reception were superb. They really cannot do enough for you. The views, even on a return trip, take your breath away. Very comfortable rooms with a welcome addtion this year of having our own sunbeds on our terrace. George Vartholomos in the bar is extremely attentive and a real asset to the hotel. Looking forward to our next visit

Room Tip: Book a Junior Suite it is worth the extra money if you like spending time on your own terrace
