“Excellent Service, Gorgeous View, Perfect Location”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

I honestly think Imerovigli is the perfect location to stay when you go to Santorini. It is away from the bustle and crowds of Fira and Oia. But they are both also easy to access. You'll have to go to Fira Stefani or elsewhere for the good meals (except one restaurant in Imerovigli that the hotel recommends: Agnosi or something like that, which was one of my favorite meals in all of Greece), but it's quiet and it's away from lots of tourism. The pool was freezing, but the view from your room and from the pool was fantastic. They constantly have deals on their website (we got 50% off, they also have buy 2 nights get a 3rd free) - wait for one of those and book because it is quite expensive. But a wonderful place to stay.

We were completely spoiled on our first trip to Santorini by this lovely, boutique hotel with excellent personal service and the best views you can possibly imagine. The rooms are quite lovely and luxurious also. The view from our veranda was breathtaking and could be seen from the moment we opened our eyes. The design of the hotel makes everything feel very private. Poolside service was absolutely wonderful, thanks much to Drago! The hotel had a wonderful dinner served poolside with multiple courses around a theme of fresh fish and seafood. The food was delicious and it was absolutely fantastic to dine next to the pool and caldera. Really, you cannot beat this wonderful hotel. Highly recommend!

My husband and I took our first trip out of north America to Greece, and stayed at the Chromata Hotel for four nights. It was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. They upgraded us from a Junior Suite to a Superior Suite at no extra cost because we wanted to stay an extra night. The room was large, beautiful, very private, and oh so comfortable. Sleeping on the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Almost everything in the room was white and it was spotlessly cleaned every day. There were little extras in the suite like a separate room for our luggage, a top notch quiet air conditioner with an adjustable thermostat, a rainwater shower with high quality great smelling liquid soap, a large safe for valuables, a cordless phone to contact the office, candles, a refrigerator, and many other things. The infinity pool was beautiful with comfortable padded loungers, a bar where you can order drinks and food, and a hot tub, steam room, bathroom, and massage room nearby. Everything was sparking clean. The room was so peaceful and quiet, but was in town and close to markets and restaurants. We had our own private patio overlooking the caldera with the most amazing views I have ever seen in my life. We also had a hot tub in our bathroom. The food was great and the staff was so accommodating. We got a "sure, yes, absolutely" response to everything we asked for, and they always went the extra mile to provide us with what we asked for. I also loved the fact that there was a sweet little kitty that came to visit us every night. I can't wait to go back there again. The only thing I would have wanted that they didn't have was a shuttle to pick us up at the port where our ferry arrived, and chaise lounges on our patio, but other than that it was absolutely perfect.

Room Tip: We were in room 12 which we liked because it was not adjacent to a stairway people used to get aroun...

Our family of 4 stayed here several years ago. My daughter and I are planning a return trip next year, and we can't wait. When I asked her what kind of place she wanted me to look for she insisted that we stay at Chromata once again. Since she was only 15 the last time I wasn't sure she'd have such a definitive answer.
What a place! The view will make you cry -- probably the most spectacular thing I've ever seen. Staying in rooms built into the mountainside was such a unique and memorable experience.

This was our first trip overseas when my husband and I stayed here in July 2000, yes it was a long time but here we are. It had been a long held dream to come to the Greek Islands and especially, Santorini. When people saw the pictures of where we were staying they said, dont believe the pictures, or they always make the places look better in pictures, etc, etc but I have to tell you it is so much better in real life, I now know where the term breathtaking originated. There was a lovely lady, Lena working there then, I feel sure she wouldnt work there now, but she helped make this a memorable holiday for us, even taking us out one night where the locals go, meet some of her friends and away from the touristy areas. But all the staff we met were lovely. Its roughly a 20 - 30 minute walk from Fira and a bus ride from Oia but a great place to just be and a little quieter than Fira if that is what you need. Love, love, loved it!!! Very special place.

Room Tip: Lots of steps so be prepared
