5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

Its with some reluctance that I write this review as i want to keep The Grace and its fantastic staff secret...or everyone will want to go!!!
A fantastic hotel, beautifully appointed with the friendliest and most attentive staff who did every thing to make our stay a truly memorable one. Add to that absolute tranquility, views and sunsets to die for and it is truly paradise found. Our only regret was that we were only there for five nights and that we had to come home.
One thing is for sure...we will be back. But in the meantime we have fond memories of new friends and a beautiful island to warm us during the dull British summer.

My husband and I stayed at the Grace Santorini for our honeymoon from 5/29-6/5 and absolutely LOVED it!! We are already talking about planning our next trip there! The location is perfect - it was just what we were looking for beautiful and peaceful. We loved the fact that there were more couples/honeymooners and less tourists around this area. We had contemplated about staying in Fira, but after visiting Fira were so glad we decided to stay in Imerovigli. Fira is so much fun with great shopping, restaurants and bars (only a 25 minute walk from the hotel), but is also very crowded with tourist and since we live in NYC, we were looking to avoid this. In regards to the hotel all I can say is PERFECTION!! If you are looking for top notch service, food, views and amenities, than look no further....the Grace has it all! The highlights for us at the Grace were as follows: the unbelievable and beautiful sunsets (that you will see right from your patio), the gorgeous and largest pool on all of Santorini, the 10 out of 10 amazing and delicious restaurant/bar at the hotel (we had lunch here 4 times and had dinner here 2 times), the unforgettable champagne breakfast (which is new everyday), the hard working and amazing staff at the restaurant/bar (I cried when we said good bye to them), the Bespoke by Grace (which lets you customize all of your pillows, scents , etc. in your room) and all of the little things the hotel does to make you feel like you are their one and only guest (snacks given at turn down service, champagne given at check in, special drinks and snacks that they give you when you are laying out by the infinity pool….I could go on and on). I would without a doubt recommend the Grace to stay at while in Santorini, especially if you are a looking to visit on your honeymoon!

Room Tip: Definitely spend the money for a plunge pool - we would watch our sunsets while sitting in ours!! W...

There are no words to describe the wonderful Grace Santorini experience! The location is superb and the best sunsets ever. Breakfast is different every day and the delicious surprise gets revealed the night before on turn down service which besides the regular turn down service you could receive in any hotel also surprises with a delish treat different every night. The staff needs all the congrats, they are polite, eager to please, educated and a step ahead in every need. I would need to write a book about our stay at Grace Santorini but my best recommendation would be : go ahead and try this wonderful resort which is pampering for the soul!

I am going to try to give as many details as possible for those of you who have never been to Santorini and are wondering where to stay. This hotel is a safe bet for everyone. It is clean, provides great service, the employees will do anything to guarantee you a relaxing atmosphere.

Let's start with the main issue there, the dreaded stairs! Yes, as you have read on other posts, there are many stairs to negotiate. We had a Honeymoon Suite located right at the bottom of the hotel. You will need to go up and down many stairs to get to these suites, that have an amazing view of the sunset by the way! In addition to these steps, there is a bit of a walk with some more steps to get from the hotel reception to the area/parking lot where you will start your daily journey. Having said that, please don't let this put you down, i haven't been anywhere in Santorini that does not require going up and down many stairs, so if that is a serious issue for you, cancel Santorini all together and go somewhere else.

The plunge pool that comes with the room is actually a Jacuzzi. It is decent size and we have used it whenever we where in our room. The view while chilling in the Jacuzzi at sunset is breath-taking! The room itself is decent size, the bathroom is a bit cramped though, with two wash basins, a W/C and the shower all in a relatively small area, it is almost impossible for both of you to be there at once, but this is only a minor issue. The powerful rain shower is worth it trust me! As for privacy, you will see people going up and down the stairs next to your room to check out the famous Skaros rock. But honestly, there's no where that is really private on the island when it comes to staying on the cliff. Who cares, just ignore anyone passing by and enjoy your time.

The hotel will arrange an ATV for you to explore the island if you ask for it. You do not want to miss on that experience, we had a blast! It is very easy to handle and the island in itself is small, so easy to move around and find your way back. The Greeks on the island are very tourist oriented, you will meet a lot of very nice people everywhere with a big smile on their face.

Once you reach the hotel, they will take care of your baggage, you will then be taken to the reception where Kostas will meet you if you arrive in the afternoon as we did. He is the sweetest Greek ever, very informative and will give you advice on where to go and what to eat. By the way, during your first meeting with him, ask him EVERYTHING you need to know about your stay. If you want arrange for a dinner one night by the pool, which i highly recommend, or if you want to hire an ATV or whatever, ask all these questions during your first meeting with him so that you know what to do next. Breakfast is served daily by the pool between 8am till 11am. If you want to have it in your room, just dial reception and they will arrange that for you. You will have to pay 5Euros for this service.Considering the energy the waiters need to spend going up and down the stairs to get the meal delivered to you, i think they deserve to be paid for it.

Finally, I do advice all of you to stay at this specific hotel not only for its service, but for the amazing location on the cliff. I do not believe that there is anywhere on the island better than this place to watch the sunset. Fira is also a 7min drive/ 30min walk. Oia is 25min drive from the hotel. Just go there with an open mind, do not try to compare it to anything, neither the hotels nor the island itself are like anything you have seen before.

If you have any questions, just send me a message and i'll be more that happy to answer you.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Honeymoon suites have beautiful views but privacy might be a bit hindered, as anywhere else.

I have never felt the urge to write a hotel review before (and have been meaning to write this review for some time) but after a holiday at Grace Santorini, I just had to. We stayed there last July for a week and loved it. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I have been lucky enough to stay in some fantastic 5 star hotels.
In fact we have just got back from a weeks trip to New York and stayed at the fabulous Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca owned by Robert De Niro, which reminded me to write this.
Grace is set in the best cliff top position in the whole of the island, and we saw a lot of other views, as we hired a motorbike and went all over! The almost 360 views of the caldera are magical almost mesmerising! It was such a pleasure to sit looking at these views over a daily champagne breakfast or lazing by the pool.
We were upgraded to a Honeymoon suite, it was very relaxing and serene, with a balcony plunge pool for an afternoon chill, nice and private and had that view to die for. The service from all the staff at the Grace was very good. The right balance of professional, friendly and helpful.
The service details are what puts this sort of hotel apart from others. The turn down service with fruit, water and "little quote of the day" left next to the bed. Champagne when you arrive and refreshing slices of fruit by the beautiful infinity pool in the day.
The sunsets are amazing and the hotel may recommend you visit other restaurants by night to view the amazing Santorini sunset, like Oia, for example. This is the sign of a great hotel, they know their stuff and want you to view the whole island, as you will come back to the Grace realising you are staying at the best place on the whole island. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Great staff, amazing, mind blowing caldera views and overall a clean fresh beautiful hotel. We are hard to please and are used to high standards, but had no negatives. We will go back one day. Enjoy.

This hotel is spectacular in every way. We stayed in the Villa which is AMAZING. The location is so special - with a 180 degree view of great beauty - it's truly humbling. At this hotel, they have thought of everything and every single thing you could possibly want - they have thought of it! The staff are excellent - the waiters remember everything and are extremely professional whilst having character and being down to earth and friendly. The food is excellent - every meal was taste heaven. Breakfast is a wonderful affair with a menu that changes every day and excellent service. I have never said this about a hotel before, but there was simply nothing wrong with our stay whatsover! We were made to feel special, like nothing was too much trouble and had the holiday of a lifetime. Thank you Grace!

I have nothing to compare to in Santorini since this is the only place that I have stayed on my one visit to the island, but I can't imagine that others could be much better and you certainly cannot go wrong wtih this choice!
I can compare it to the best hotels/resorts in many other locations around the world and it is definitely unique. It certainly doesn't hurt that Santorini has a view that is second to none in the world.
From the time they pick you up at the airport and add a special touch of fruit, water and a cold towel, to greeting you before you ever get to the front desk (I never saw the front desk when I checked in), the explanation of the hotel and the island, the personal escort to your room and handling of luggage, it proceeds to get better!
The infiniti edge pool that appears to fall into the water below and fantastic bath with a rainhead shower and large shower area are excellent.
They know you name within the first day and are there to cater to any needs during your stay. I believe they only have 20 or 21 rooms so the attention is very personal.
The food, cooked by a world class chef is second to none. in most hotels I am looking to get out and go to a real restaurant, but the breakfasts and dinners here are worth staying for.
Most people feel that staying in Fira or Oia are better locations but we could not disagree more. This hotel is in the middle of both, out of the way of the main tourist and cruise areas and you can easily walk to Fira when you are ready.
I can't say enought about this and would recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have plunge pools but noticed that a few had larger patio areas and reclining loun...
