the room is very cofortable and clean. great pool.
Pepy, the owner, was so friendly and helped us getting the best of our days touring Crete. we plan our yearly vacation at the Nymphes again.

After forty years of marriage my husband and I chose Nymphes for a second honeymoon and were not disappointed. The view is outstanding and the studio room we reserved, spotlessly clean. Fresh flowers had been put in the room as well as the complementary fruit and wine. We stayed for several days. I would not recommend coming just for one night. You will miss feeling the quietness and serenity of the place. As others have said, the winding uphill access road should not be attempted by the faint hearted. The road however, is concrete (not dirt) and is safe to drive on even in wet weather. We had rented a small car with shift gears which if you wish to travel around the mountainous interior, is probably a better bet than an a car with automatic gears, and which will get you up the mountainside to the hotel with little problem. For those who wish to visit out of season, you should know that tops of mountains can be chilly at night but Nymphes has central heating as well as air conditioning, neither of which we needed to use at the beginning of October. The rooms have showers rather than baths but for us this was no problem. We ate breakfast on the terrace every morning. Pepe the owner, is extremely helpful and has an office full of books in English, including translations of Greek authors. She adores children and the office will be a welcoming place for them. If the bed is not made or you need clean towels you have only to ask her and it will be done! It might be a good idea to bring coffee, tea, sugar and salt with you as these are not supplied. However, shopping in the little village on the coast below was easy. If you want to try the local Cretan cheese, ask where the butcher shop is (in a tiny side street off the main parking area). He sells the cheese by weight. By the way, the road down to the village is also winding and steep. Many of the stores and restaurants in the village close at the end of October until the following season. Nymphes is definitely a place to go back to and the view will be even better after the winter rains.

The pictures tell it all. Spectacular views. Quiet, except for the occasional bleating of a goat from the nearby farm. This is everything that you hope Greece will be and more.
The pool is lovely with the view of the sea. The apartments are clean and Greek in design, functional and a great break from eating in restaurants. There are many grocery stores in and around Crete to pick up everything from luncheon meats to baked goods and lets not even start about the yougurt and cheeses.

Air conditioning worked faboulously, and the beds were the most comfortable we slept in during our entire vacation in Greece. the cats reminded us of home.

The road - the first trip is treacherous. The second you actually breathe and aren't white knuckling it. Each time becomes better, but watch out for the first and I wouldn't do it at night.

I would return in a millisecond if I could.

We spent two nights here in August. The view and the location are spectacular! Our room had a large covered deck overlooking the town that we used both nights. Our room was clean and exceptionally comfortable. Excellent pool. Pepy is very nice and was excetionally helpful. You should like or at least be tolerant of cats - there are several that live on the property and they all paid us visits. We liked the kittens the best. The hotel does require a car - it is not within walking distance of anything, and is so high up the hill that taxis are not practical. The drive up the hill is a little daunting. Highly recommended.
