“Gotta take the rough with the smooth”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Travelled here in the summer of 2012 as part of a package holiday and was a bit concerned beforehand given some poor reviews and videos I had seen online. Let's dispel that myth, the place isn't so bad! Ok, there were some bad points but for the budget price you have to lower your expectations a bit. There was some slight mixup at check-in when the receptionist to give us an internal room but as soon as I explained that we had paid for the sea view she immediately double checked, rectified the error and apologised. Maybe because of the slight error, we were pleasantly surprised to have a balcony with perhaps the best view possible, surprised given that we booked our holiday only a few days before leaving so I expected the sea view to be a slither of a view through a gap between buildings.

Ok to the main stuff.

Positives: Room was clean, airy, with aircon incl. in the cost of our holiday. Room cleaned daily. Service. Friendly staff throughout the hotel always willing to help with our queries. Got a great deal on car rental with the hotel which worked out cheaper than anywhere else in the area. Location was great, 10 min downhill walk to the small local beach and town with plenty of seaside bars restaurants to choose from. I recommend visiting Mouragio, one of the first restaurants on the strip, great service and food.

Negatives: No shower curtain and poor drainage in shower room leading to wet floor and a bit of a mess each time we used it. Queue system at the bar could be done better, last all incl. orders were at 10pm and this caused a mad rush to the bar so you had to wait around 15-20 mins to be served.

The food was fine, most of it was tasty enough but it was all very much the same from day to day. A bit more variety would have been nice.

Overall, it was a budget trip and we were very happy with the hotel and it's service. Would happily return !

Room Tip: Shell out for one of the rooms in the 'village' part of the hotel, with a sea view. Well wor...

Visited Aug12. I was really worried when I saw some of the reviews for this hotel. But it really was fine.
We got allocated a room on the first night after arriving in the middle of the night. In the morning this turned out to be a room with an eight foot wall - not good. When we complained we got moved to the apartment block up the hill which was loads better and a lot quieter with a lovely little bar. The views were even better from there as it was higher up.
The food wasn't brilliant - but acceptable. Freshly made pancakes at breakfast were a highlight.
The all inclusive spirts were not nice and quite long bar queues - but you are on holiday! Don't stress. It says its a 3 * hotel and that is what it is. Very clean and nice staff.
There is not much to do in the little village near by, so I would recommend hiring a car. This was great fun!

Room Tip: Ask if you can move rooms if you get one facing a huge wall! We didn't pay extra and it was much...

Me and my hubby went there april '12. The views were stunning and defo worth going back for but the food was so tasteless. It was the same food every day with one or 2 changes in the menu. It felt more like the food was reused from lunch to dinner at times. The amount of staff members present were low and you had to pay an extra £30 odd pounds for a sea view room when u arrived there. There are about 20 cats so if ur allergic to them then avoid this hotel. If ur stay is for 1 week then dont expect clean sheets and towels everyday, one of 2 of our damp towels got changed regularly but the sheets were just redone everyday. AC is not included and costs £5 a night, so keep that in mind when ur going during hot temperatures. Wifi/internet is £15 for the week you stay so make sure u take extra cash for these options.

The hotel itself is located about 10 mins walk from the beach but its about 30 mins drive from the nearest shopping district of Heraklion where u can buy a huge range of items from fake designers to very delicious kebabs. My advice for those of you who know how to drive is to rent a car from the airport and get a tomtom aswell. We ended up renting a car in agia pelagia which was a bit more exp than from the airport and we had to return it at agia pelagia and catch the bus back to the airport. This hotel is just over an hours drive from the airport (depending on your speed) and by bus would take 2-3 hours. Cabs cost £110 to drive here so dont even bother trying to get a cab at the airport. The good point is they do a little activity every night from bingo to dancing and winners get drinks. Your all inclusive does not buy u all the drinks however it only entitiles u to a few soft drinks and one or 2 alcoholic drinks. Anything else you need to pay for. Water is not provided and also has to be bought. There are a few shops down by the beach where you can buy snacks and essentials that you may have forgotten.

Also there are mosquitos so take some creams/sprays they will work especially autan! One night i wore it and i got no bites, next night i didnt wear as only my ankle was on display and i got 3 bites!! So if u want to avoid this then make sure u wear it every night. This is a nice getaway for relaxation as there is not much to do in crete and none of the attractions open till mid may, so for those of you who want to jus lay by the pool or play ping pong and laze around the hotel then this is right for you. Any one looking for activities and things to do, hmm not such a great place.

Have fun if you do decide to go the views are stunning! =) (thats probably why i gave this place a 3/5, it says 4* hotel but i wud give it 3*)

Room Tip: Pay the extra money for the room change, if ur going to this hotel its for the views so dont get stu...

This small friendly hotel on an all inclusive basis was just perfect. Extremely clean good value for money lovely atmosphere with just enough to do.
Even though this is 3* i would say its closer to 4* as we just loved our stay.
The food was good, plenty of choice and a chef to freshly cook something at every meal time. The ladies cleaning up in the restaurant were always pleased to help and very pleasant. Our room cleaned every day and we had a perfect sea view. Bit of a walk to the beaches which were challenging on the way back as up hill but welcome excercise after all the nice food. Salads were fresh maybe there could have been more fruit but what was there was always fresh. My only complaint was that the hotel pool was too cold in oct/nov but to be expected but the sea was still warm!!
All in all a very nice holiday and i would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are better with a sea view

We booked through on the beach for a really good price.
The transfer from the airport was about 20 mins so off to a good start arrived at the hotel quick check in no problems there.
The all Inc had finished 10.30pm but the prices to buy drinks was ok
The weather was fantastic for November the pool was cold when you first dipped a toe in but was not to bad once you was in the sea did seem tho be a lot warmer tho
The hotel do provide transport down to the beach the driver will not speak or smile tho. We did once see him smile but put it down to him having wind.
The best thing about the hotel has got to be the views in the week we was there we saw shooting stars the moon changing from white to orange to black then back to normal
If you have booked this hotel go with an open mind and you will be fine as the only thing that would stop me going back is the food
Have fun
