“All rooms overlooking the clear green water of little coves”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

The exquisitely clean and pleasantly appointed Hotel Diana has rooms in staggered tiers at the ground and upper levels, giving guests maximum privacy. Every room has a view of the water, each with a private terrace or patio giving onto a lawn A small, fairly priced hotel, run by a family, only a short walk from restaurants on the bay. The gracious Eleni could not be more helpful, as also her son Giorgos. We discovered the Diana last year and booked our return for this, We shall never stay elsewhere while in the Iraklion area.

From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, this family run hotel of apartments, they made sure my time there was awesome. Always checking everything was ok, the apartment was cleaned beautiful every day.
The view from my balcony was amazing from sunrise to sunset I could not stop looking at it, I so miss that view every morning I woke up.
Agia Pelegia was quiet because like any where in Greece, tourism has been hit by the known economic problems, but please dont let this put you off, you will love it and your money will go a long way. The service any where is fantastic because they value your custom, please support by going.
The local bays are beautiful and every where is clean! The sea is clear and inviting.
I hired a car and explored a 1,000 miles of Crete and I found the scenery just awesome! I must go back.
Its a shot walk to the village from Diana but because its beautiful location you feel miles from anywhere.
Hotel Diana is special and its awaiting your turn to visit, I have been travelling to Greece since 1979 and stayed at some great places, but this win the GOLD medal.
I know there is plans to build a small pool and then I will award it the Distinguish Medal of Honour.
I so miss not being there!

Room Tip: They are all beautiful!!

A wonderful setting for a holiday of complete relaxation although easy access to other beaches and places of interest on the island if you wish
A lovely family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble, the apartments are great, & kept spotlessly clean on a daily basis
A short walk away there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and a few supermarkets which sell all the necessary items you will need for self-catering
This was our first visit here and I'm sure we will be back in the future

This lovely familyhotel is situated in the most wonderful surroundings, with a fabulous view over the blue sea. We have visited Diana a lot of times during the last 10 years and we do never get bored of this calmly and friendly place with its very special atmosphere. Diana and its garden is so neat and tidy an excellent place to relax, read a book or go for a swim on the private beach. If you would like to shop a bit, take a walk to the village 300 m away or visit one of the taverns or bars. After a week stress has evapourated into thin air.

Hotel Diana in Agia Pelagia is fantastic in so many ways:
- because of the view from all appartements
- because of the friendly manager/staff
- because of the nearness to the beach below
- because of the various number of shops/restaurants nearby
All of witch I have had the opportunity to explore during my 5 stays at the hotel within the last 11 years. Furthermore it is easy to take trips to Heraklion and other destinations around the island.

Room Tip: In my point of view the appartements downstairs are the best

Hotel Diana in Agia Pelagia is a very nice hotel Large roos with everything you need, and a balcony with a breathtaking view over the bay and sea.

The village Agia Pelagia is situatet along the beach with a several restaurants of high quality. The best being KRI KRI! I can't recommend that high enough. It's pure gourmet meals made with the finest food but many of them still in the greek tradition.

The beach is sandy all the way and it don't come better in Greece.

You can walk around in the area and work up an appetite!

Busses go to Chania and Rhetymnon.

A fine place to ralax.

My husband and I spent 16 idylic days here from 30th June. our third visit to Agia Pelagia but our first to Diana - will cerrtainly not be our last either!!.

From the moment we arrived we were treated as friends not just customers.. Eleni met us at the top of the hill on arrival - a lovely touch and was just so warm and welcoming. She kept our upstairs level room which was on a level with the path so no stairs to climb (Room 1) really spotless. fresh linen every couple of days. Added extras in the room which we found good and a nice idea were a bottle of water left in the fridge, loo rolls suplied daily, washing up liquid, scourer and plenty of tea towels.... small things but all nice touches. Also included is a safe and aircondiotining. Note that all upstairs rooms are driveway level, you go down steps to get to the ground floor rooms which have a patio area overlooking the garden...

Fantastic view from our veranda over the sea - with a sun-umbrella to shade you in the morning from the fierce sun. Due to spraining my ankle before we left England I sadly didn't want to risk the walk down to the little private cove - although Paul - my husband did go down once for a look.... Fantastic sunrise views from these apartmenets if you are an early riser and I will add some photos when i get them onto my PC!!

Giorgios - Eleni's son is a great guy - very helpful if you have a problem with anything and both he and his Mum spoke good English. A warm thank you here for Eleni who left me a beatiful vase of Fragipani and Roses on my Birthday - Efkaristo xxx

We would recommend these apartments to anyone who wants Greek hospitality at it's best, a good base on the edge of the resort (only about 5 minutes walk) and a nice peaceful location............ go try it ....you won't be disapppionted.

As mentioned though by a previous couple of reviews - the driveway up to the road from Diana is very steep at the top and I would say is unsuitable for anyone with walking issues.
