Great hotel and fantastic value for money, although think I got particularly lucky with it (£42 per night AI)

Service was brilliant, in fact receptionist allowed me to check in and use AI immediately, even though it was 11am! Good quality and variety of F&B and bar snacks were great. Staff were lovely, location was idyllic and views were magical. Very remote and very quiet too! But for a relaxing time, thought it was ideal.

The views and location of this hotel make it something special. From the top pool or the lower pool, the views are just awesome. Relaxing in a lounger or chair enjoying the sun with a drink from the bar, it does not get much better than this on holiday.

The animation team were to be found at the top bar during the day providing yoga, Aquarobics, a midday game, darts, French boule, table tennis and Zumba just to liven things up for a short time. The lower pool area was a quieter area if that is what you wanted. The pool areas have decking round them which is cooler to the feet than the hot tiles, but to avoid splinters you may be best advised to take some appropriate shoes for your feet.

We booked the Hotel on a week’s all-inclusive deal with land views. The rooms were comfortable and in the lower floors of the hotel under the Chinese Restaurant with side views of the sea and beach below. The food was really good with a nice selection. The Greek salad each day was good, some of the food each evening was themed each evening with Greek, Italian, Mexican dishes to choose. The sweets were excellent.

The hotel is a resort hotel and apart from the beach, a couple of tavern’s and a bar not much close bye if you like to go for a walk after a meal, or explore during the day. The drinks at the hotel were good, on the all inclusive you could have any of the local drinks at no charge, the beer was OK, The gin and Brandy was good, and the wine drinkable. It is not until you go out of the hotel that you see the local prices for drinks and food and realise what great value the all-inclusive deal that the hotel provides. The Main bar was good at night and the staff helpful and friendly and the animation team had quizzes and karaoke and little shows in the TV/ Relax room off the main bar.

The sea was great to swim in but take some shoes or flip-flops as the sand is rough, and getting in and out you have small rocks and pebbles, which are hard on the feet.

Positive points

- Fantastic sea views.
- Good food and restaurant.
- Good value for money.
- No TV in main bar.

Mot so positive

- Not much to do near bye, if you like to get away from the hotel.
- Hotel on different levels so may not be so good if you are in a wheelchair or having
difficulties walking.
- Not many excursions advertised or available.
- Lower Rooms below Chinese Restaurant and overlooking Beach had bugs and Insects
- In Corridors and balcony areas. People in higher rooms/ sea views indicated that these
rooms did not have any insects or bugs.
- Mosquito’s were out in May so pack the appropriate protection.

Overall

Had a great relaxing time at a really good hotel. that has a great location and views out to sea. Wish I were back at the hotel now

I really enjoyed my stay as I went there to do nothing and relax.
So this was the perfect place to do it.
The staff was nice except for a couple of unhappy faces but pushed them aside.
The one thing that did bug me about the hotels all inclusive policy was the fact that they had a all inclusive policy but refused to give out any bottles of water in that which is bad considering you are dehydrating in the sun all day.
And one other complaint the Chinese restaurant food was so oily it was the worst food I have ever eaten.
Aside from that it was a great trip.

A little off the beaten track but great views and very quiet, perfect for a week of chilling. The basic room was great clean and spacious. Had to change rooms due to faulty toilet, Reception staff not the most helpful but all other staff were great.

Great selection of salads and food, hot food not very warm but great pizza. Really recommend Stellios taverna in the bay very friendly and great Greek food!!!

Watch out for splinters in your feet from the decking around the quiet pool

This hotel has much to commend it. First the location is superb with great views across the small bay. The rooms are a good size, clean and with AI the mini bar is kept well stocked with water and soft drinks. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. The animation team accepted our need for peace with good grace.
However, for a hotel claiming to be five star it is looking a bit tired in places. The path ways had weeds growing on them: one would have thought that this would have been attended to before the season started. The food was good but we have experienced better at other AI establishments and by the end of the week was becoming a bit repetative( not unusual). Also by the end of the week the hotel was starting to fill up. This was shown by queues starting to appear to gain access to the main restraurant in the evening. One wonders what it will be like at the peak of the season! The alternative Chinese restaurant was pretty average and they had run out some things on the menu.
If you want to see a bit more of Crete, and you are not part of a package offering tours, you really have to hire a car as the local bus only runs once each way and only gives you four hours in Heraklion. No bus at all on Sundays.
The local beach below the hotel was OK. Clean but quite course sand. You had to pay for the beds. The water was crystal clear.

If you want to get away from it all with the possibilty of some action then this hotel might be for you.

Room Tip: If you can afford it try for the rooms with their own pools.
