“Very unprofessional”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Me and my daughter walks by several times a week when taking a stroll on the beautiful " chemin des douaniers". The restaurant has changed owner and the area has been cleaned up, and the furniture has been changed. Unfortunately with a taste that is terrible, at least for being a restaurant. Its so pink that your eyes hurt.

There is absolutely nothing inviting with this restaurant. The tables are left as they stood last time they were used (probably many weeks ago), they are not laid and everything looks completely deserted, except perhaps for the owner who sits with his back to the entrance and looks at an big TV screen on the wall or reads a paper. Obviously he has given up hope that anyone will visit his restaurant.

We have long thought about visiting Caponga, but every time we come close, we change our mind. Its really a pity as the location is so nice.

Hopefully will this restaurant change owner soon and someone who knows his profession will take over. Someone who knows that a restaurant shall be inviting, have nice people servicing and serve good food at reasonable prices.

“No tourists! Go while it is still the same!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

As the previous reviewers says, this place has changed management or chef apparently. We stopped to take a look a the port out of nosiness, and since it was lunchtime decided to try this place. On a Sunday it was nearly full, entirely of locals - love that. Early June so no tourists around, except us. There was no menu, just steak or chicken or fish I think. How brilliant is that! Kids 'menu' was similar. Local rose wine was lovely, so we had 2 bottles......food all perfectly delicious. Service rather slow but only because one (very pretty) girl was doing it all. 5 of us and bill was exactly €100, a complete bargain. Lovely yachty harbour location too. Ignore earlier miserable reviews and go!

“Awful food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2011

We went here because the other restaurants by Saint-Aygulf beach hadn't yet opened and my 3-year old was hungry. The interior of the restautant was nice -- there was a kitchen for our young one to play with -- but the food was absolutely terrible. It tasted as if it had just come out of a bag and microwaved. The fish actually made me feel physically sick. In addiiton, there were mosquitoes everywhere. We left five minutes after our entrees arrived and wrote it off to experience.

“Nice situation- food lack-lustre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2011

Still has something of the atmosphere of a bistro catering for the small yacht owners and fishermen of the port. Service is friendly but can be erratic. The menus are not too expensive and offer a good choice but don't expect haute cusine.

“Nice restaurant with mediocre food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2009

The restaurang is situated at the port of St.Aygulf. It looks very nice and has a relaxing little sandy garden on the backside. Sadly the menu is quite banal and so is the food. They have a menu which is quite cheep, but the rest is slightly overpriced. I would only rekommand the place for a late afternon drink or a afternoon coffe
