In a bleak February day we were on a Eurotunnel day trip and drove down to Wimereaux intending to take lunch in La Liegeois but unfortunately it was closed for February and we instead opted for the Cap Nord restaurant on the seafront.
We were welcomed, seated and, after a drink, decided to order lunch. It was delicious and what was even better was that we were encouraged to mix-and-match the set menu with the day's specialities. The staff were welcoming, good humoured and attentive, perfectly happy to allow us to try our French but willing to step in with their English if we appeared to be floundering. All very relaxing.
The food was very good with a selection we did not expect to be available in a quiet seaside town in February. This bias is towards fish (unsurprisingly) but two of our party took the beef and found it delicious. My fish could not have been fresher.
The meal was reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
