“High standard....limited menu”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Eat dinner with my family recently. Good points were : high standard of cuisine, dinner for 4 came out to be approx €160 with wine. All enjoyed their main courses of Maigret de Canard, Dorade and chicken brochettes. Desserts and entrees were a little more limited.
Negative points: menu was a little limited and he location is by the main road - but this is hidden well by trees which also kill any traffic noise
I would suggest is worth a visit for a semi formal or better. I would have rated this as 4 star had the entrees and desserts been to the main course standard.

Stayed one night at the hotel. Room was large and clean with a good ensuite. About a 15 minute walk into St Junien. Breakfast was self serve with a reasonable selection but not monitored by staff so there were some flies in the open bowl of yogurt - bit off putting. Also one of our cups was chipped. Breakfast was 10 euros each.

Suburban location and reasonably quiet, the car park seems to be public, but is right next door. The building is fairly modern and is set in a pretty garden. The décor is modern and interesting, with eye-catching black and white photographs on the walls. WiFi is free and efficient. No aircon or lift (elevator), which meant we ended up leaving a heavy bag in the car overnight, and also that we struggled to keep the room cool. The room was otherwise fine, and our visit to the restaurant for dinner was very enjoyable. Breakfast in the bar area was particularly good, with some hot items available at extra charge. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. All in all, we don't think you will be disappointed. Good value too.

This is a nice place to stay, rooms are OK (though the bathrooms could use some refurbishment), and the owner (I suppose) is very kind, even a bit too kind. Dinner was good, though the vegetables with the rabbit were a bit too sweet for me (but at least they used honey to do that), and if you're Belgian, there's no way you get used to stuffing yourself i n about 60 minutes time, I had to tell the very kind waitress that she really had 15 minutes time for the coffee. If they would allow for at least 10 minutes between courses, this would feel like a real treat.
I don't mind pouring my own wine, but it is a matter of politeness to bring the wine and pour it.
Breakfast is nohing special, and costs 10 Euro, which is double what you'll pay in the centre.
But it is certainly a good place to stay, on your way down to the South

We came across this place by chance while driving back from Spain. We struck lucky. The room was nothing special, a bit tatty, but perfectly comfortable and everything (plumbing, heating, TV, wi-fi) all worked. Friendly and professional service. We were a bit alarmed when a wedding party turned up (can be a recipe for a long sleepless night), but either French weddings are more sober than some, or the hotel walls and soundproofing are first-rate. The dinner was very good - choice of set menus, decent portions, quality food, excellent house wine. Pleasant garden and location - the impressive Abbaye is just 5minutes walks down towards the river.

We were there as a couple on vacation on the way to the Atlantic Coast. This hotel was exceeding our expectations. The rooms were very clean, modern and the staff exceptionally friendly. For the rest nothing much to see in Saint Junien but this hotel was worth the detour.

Also the restaurant was more than ok. The Menu du Terroir was fantastic. We can recommend this hotel!

Went there for a family reunion. The rooms are very clean and comfortable (bed is very nice).
The front desk is most welcoming. Also, the garden and restaurant room is lovely - lots of trees.
I did not have dinner there so I cannot comment for the food.
