This is an essential fish fest whenever we are on holiday nearby. Certainly not for serious carnivores but there is usually steak or chops on the menu. The food and service is excellent although it helps a lot if you can speak some French because this is the haunt of locals and those in the know. The serious floods of October 2018 came just weeks after we were sitting here enjoying a fabulous selection of fish dishes. There was severe damage to many businesses so I do hope the lovely bars and restaurants along this stretch of the Canal have recovered. During the spring and autumn make sure you take a jumper/scarf/coat as it can be quite draughty outside. Being so popular it helps to book in advance too - get in early enough and ask for a table closest to the Canal for the best view.

Don't judge this place by its entrance. The receptionist at our hotel in Carcassonne advised us to go here as the medival city is so crowded Sundays.

I am happy we decided to drive here as they obviously know how to cook fish. It was a delicios meal, despite the sad pommes frites. Prices were ok.

They even offered a meny in English, though the page presenting the restaurant was in French. I used google translator to read it, and wish for other non-French speakers to know as well. I also had a laugh at the toilet poem (also read through google translator).

I hope they made it through the flash flood this morning! When we parked just outside last night I actually thought the water level in the canal felt high, and that was even before the torrential rain.

We were 2 couples. 3 ordered pasta with seafood (shrimp and scallops) and I ordered expensive fish soup. The seafood in the pasta dish did not taste at all fresh. The fish soup was a brown fishy-tasting puree with no actual pieces of seafood. The flavor was unpleasant and nobody at the table ate it. When the waitress asked how we liked our meals, and I told her I had expected fish, she was indignant rather than apologetic that I had expected anything different, and she walked away in a huff. Then she sent the cook out who proceeded to lambast me after asking who ordered the soup. On our exit they mocked and laughed at us. We have never been treated with such disdain in or out of a restaurant.I would love to give this restaurant zero stars.

Great location right on the Canal du Midi but the food was very average. Had to send the fish back as it was not cooked.

Having read other reviews, I decided to eat here and see how good the sea-food was. I took the "Crustacés " for € 35 which included 1/2 lobster, 1/2 Langoustine, more than a dozen shrimps - large and small - as well as two crab claws.

As I live a long way from the sea, i was looking forward to tasting good quality, but am uncertain if I did taste it . The lobster and langoustine were "fine " but didn't deliver the exquisite taste I was expecting: I'm unsure if that says more about my palate or the sea-food.. I've marked it 4 stars as I did find it "quite" good.

This, with 0,5 l of local wine and a coffee was € 46.
