We booked a table for evening meal as we were working our boat up the lock and we were glad we did. We moored up and looked around the pleasant town of Trebes then walked down the towpath to the restaurant. The service was very good even though the restaurant was full. The food was very good - goats cheese & courgette tatin starter , baby rooster and pomme de maison main (superb chicken & chips in any language). The cheese course was nothing to write home about though the pear crumble was very good but it did lack some vanilla ice-cream. The local wine was very good too at 13 EUR a bottle. Nice little touches included pictures and placemats featuring a red windmill.
