“The Duc may have been a tad disappointed”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Super friendly and professional staff makes up for an average hotel overlooking a beautiful, quiet side-piazza not far from the center of town. The room was nothing to write home about, but breakfast was good and nicely served. Though a bit too expensive for value, strikes me as a good place to stay in while in Corte.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are below street level. Better to avoid them if possible.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days at the start of September, which was an ideal location to explore the central area of Corsica, just a shame about the weather. Unfortunately for us where was severe thunder storms and rain the few days we stayed here, but I do believe we would have really enjoyed it a whole lot more if the weather had been better.

The hotel and room are so well equipped and clean and our room was great. We had a room with a balcony, which although being on the back of the hotel I think must have been one of the better rooms. The day or so we had of sunny weather it was great to sit on the sunny balcony with a glass of wine and our books.

There is a TV in the room and a shower in the bathroom, I’m not sure if any rooms have baths. The air con works well and you can use a computer right by reception. The breakfast was great too and you get to make toast which I find some hotels don’t have. You can park right outside for free and although it can take 5 minutes to get a space, you should persevere. But if all else fails there is a car park (payable) at the back of the hotel.

The location is great, just off the main street, which isn’t too long with the main square at the other end. There are lots of cafes and restaurants and climb a little up the hill to find even more. Not much of a climb.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony

We were there for 2 nights. Somewhat uncertain on arrival, rather old builiding with a very old entrance. Up the marble steps to the 1st floor where the reception was. Nice staff, very helpful and vwe got a very good room (211) with bath, toilet and a big sleeping room. Corte is a small town, the hotel is placed on a sqare in one part of the city, but you easily walk through the main street in 10-15 minutes. Very quiet area and we definitely will use the hotel again if returning to the city. The staff helped us with tips of good restauarants( u Campanile - go there - in front of the church) so we enjoyed the stay.

Room Tip: Quiet area, I think you sleep very good in all the rooms.

No problems with this hotel - capable staff, decent room, breakfast was nice, free internet access. Location is just off the main street in Corte, in a nice wide avenue.

This is a very nice place to stay. Well located in downtown Corte. Clean, even if the building itself is old, major renovations took place recently. Breakfast is very generous and diversified. I recommend to anyone who's spending a few days in Corte.

Note that parking is not included, but we were lucky to find a free spot next to the hotel.

We found the room and the breakfast to be very nice. The staff were friendly and willing to help with recommendations and local arrangements. The room rate seemed reasonable. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Corte. The breakfast is a very nice continental meal with Corsican jams and charcuterie.

A recommendation regarding visiting Corte would be to arrange to rent a car (less expensive rentals in Bastia) when visiting Corte as most of the local sites seemed very difficult to get to without one. The one exception was Vizzavona, which can be reached by train and is a great location for day hikes and swimming.

The staff at the hotel helped my wife and I arrange for a car rental in Corte but it was rather expensive.

Good location for touring entire island via daytrips. Good spot to get out into town in the evening. No allocated parking but we never had a problem in the street outside. Rooms immaculate, staff extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was absoluely superb (huge choice of fantastic food). Don't be put off by the somewhat shabby exterior, the interior is recently renovated and is immaculate. Free internet access too.

Room Tip: Bood very early!
